"Regarding the location, you'll need to call a Grab for everything. It's so hot that walking to the nearest restaurant for breakfast in the morning takes over ten minutes, and by the time you get there, you're already drenched in sweat. We knew this beforehand, though. There's a convenience store downstairs, but it's not cheap. We bought a 5L bottle of water for RM30.
As for the room, we booked a suite with two bedrooms and a living room. Each bedroom had a double bed, and there was also a double bed in the living room. One of the bedrooms had an en-suite bathroom, and the other bathroom was shared with the living room. The amenities were quite basic. The bathrooms had shower gel and shampoo, and the water heater was hot enough, but you had to figure out how to use it first. There was an ironing board and iron in the unit, but we didn't use them. There was a washing machine, washing powder, an induction cooker, a pot, a frying pan, large bowls, plates, cutlery, a dining table, and three chairs. We did laundry, and there was enough space to hang clothes, as we could hang them in the bathroom and living room.
The worst part was having only three chairs. It's advertised for six people, but with only three chairs, one person always had to stand when we ate together. There were four of us staying there.
The toilet paper provided by the host was barely enough. We ended up using our own tissues too. Since we stayed for five nights and often brought takeout back to eat, the rubbish bags weren't sufficient. We had to contact someone to get more.
Bath towels were provided in the room, and the pool and gym on the 11th floor were open during the day. We didn't have any children with us, but the facilities on the 11th floor looked like they could keep kids entertained for half a day."

"We enjoyed our stay at Iconic Regency Service Residence. The place is very clean, and the front desk staff were very polite and responded quickly to all our enquiries. The room service cleaners were also polite and well-trained.
The gym and swimming pool on Level 42 have great views, and my kids had a lot of fun at the swimming pool.
The only feedback is that the car park design may not be very convenient, as there are many circular turns and some areas are quite narrow, especially for bigger cars. It really tests the driver’s driving skills.
Overall, everything was good. If there is no traffic jam, it takes less than 30 minutes to drive to George Town."

"This hotel features sea facing suites. You can hear the waves as the beach is just 10-20 meters in front of the hotel.
Service and cleanliness is great. I booked a studio room for 3 nights but they upgraded me to a 2 room apartment (although they kept 1 room locked). Very much appreciated since I get a room with balcony and living area. No daily housekeeping but that’s fine.
Furnishings and amenities in the room is well maintained."

"This hotel is excellent. It's brand new and completely odor-free. The rooms even have water purifiers for direct drinking, and hot water is readily available – a huge plus since most hotels in Malaysia don't provide bottled mineral water, and buying it outside can be quite cumbersome. The room design is superb and very well-suited for Chinese guests, with brand new kitchen utensils too. The hotel's location is also fantastic. Just a short walk away, you can catch a free bus for sightseeing around Penang. It's less than a 10-minute walk from the former site where Sun Yat-sen founded the Tongmenghui, and GAMA Supermarket is also within walking distance, offering great products at reasonable prices. You can take the free bus to many attractions. It's also conveniently located about a 30-minute drive from the airport. Plus, you can easily get to the jetty to catch a ferry to Butterworth and then take a train to Ipoh, or even directly to Kuala Lumpur. All in all, it's incredibly convenient and definitely worth staying. This hotel is a perfect choice for a trip to Penang."

"I really liked this hotel; the front desk staff were very friendly. Our suite had a lobby, two bedrooms, a toilet, a shower room, and an open kitchen. The overall design was spacious and bright, with a simple yet warm and comfortable style. The beds were very soft and comfortable, and there was a large fan overhead and air conditioning nearby, so we didn't have to worry about getting hot. There was a shared water dispenser and microwave outside the suite for hot water and cooking. The hotel area was very quiet, and we could see the city lights in the distance. Overall, it was excellent, and I would recommend this hotel suite to groups of friends traveling in groups."

Within a few hundred meters of the hotel, there are countless food stalls and durian stands, making it incredibly convenient for finding food. The hotel rooms are clean, but I found the beds to be a bit short; taller individuals might feel cramped. Overall, it's comparable to a Jinjiang Inn in China. The gym on the 36th floor offers a good experience, but the rooftop pool's water quality isn't great – it's really only suitable for taking photos and enjoying the panoramic views of Penang. This hotel is a good option for families on a budget who prioritize cleanliness and convenience."

"The environment of this Airbnb is quite chill and comfortable. This Airbnb quite big as there is not only a bedroom, but also a living area, two bathroom, a kitchen and a dining table for 5/6 people. The room and the facilities are quite clean. The view is quite gorgeous, with the residential area view and half sea view. Plus there is sufficient parking spaces with security guards.
However, there are few aspects that the management could improve better. For example, preparing some mineral waters and snacks in the Airbnb. Also, a suggestion to replace the kettle as it looked old and dirty. The TV is not working and there is no TV box or any channel subscription to watch.
Overall, we are quite satisfied with our stay but there are few improvements that the management could make."

ilonka-zExcellent hotel location. The fully equipped kitchen, ironing board with iron, and hairdryer are all available. If you need anything, you can contact staff via WhatsApp, and it will be delivered quickly. The room was clean and spacious. Nice pool and jacuzzi, plus a well-equipped gym. Upon check-in, we were asked for a 200 RM refundable deposit, but only in cash. We had a pleasant stay.

ElllleTanAll very good, receptionists are very friendly and helpful, we can even keep our luggage before we can check in because we arrived earlier and we can freely go find our lunch around the residence. Hist also very responsive, location is superb with many local food stall walking distance and easy to go everywhere. Bed and pillows also towels are very clean. We had nice stay here thanks to nexx

BihuxiaoThe front desk offers luggage storage, and the location is quite convenient. The room has two separate bedrooms, so you won't disturb each other while sleeping; one bedroom is larger than the other. There's a convenience store in the lobby on the first floor. If you're staying for consecutive nights, there's no cleaning service in between. The price is quite reasonable.

Just show your check-in confirmation to the security guard downstairs, ask them to open the door, and grab your key from the left. Customer service will send you a comprehensive document; make sure to read it carefully, as it's very well-organized. The building is disinfected daily, and the elevators are kept clean. There's a Starbucks and a convenience store right downstairs. I was on the 22nd floor, and the noise wasn't too noticeable. The view was also quite good, and the room rate was incredibly reasonable—much better than what I experienced in Guangzhou. Unless you're staying in a high-end four or five-star hotel, I'd definitely recommend this type of serviced apartment for travel. If you're considering guesthouses in George Town and have high expectations for your accommodation, I wouldn't really suggest them. The motorcycle noise there is beyond imagination, and since it's a heritage area, their sewage system is quite old. However, if you're not particular, it can offer a unique charm. Overall, everything was great. The residents here are very friendly, and I never had to wait long for the elevator, contrary to what some online reviews mentioned. My longest wait was never more than 30 seconds. A local driver told me that this is a newer area, so the location isn't ideal for tourists if you want to walk everywhere; you'll need to take a taxi unless you're driving. But I personally found it quite good. If you plan on exploring, you'll need to taxi to George Town daily, which is usually about a 15-minute ride, so that's a bit of a downside. Otherwise, I'd choose this type of travel accommodation over a four or five-star beachfront hotel. I had a spacious apartment all to myself, which was fantastic. These are all my thoughts, and I hope they help with your decision.

WINNIEGOHSmall cozy hotel and comfort bed, this hotel are emphasised on sustainability, give a thumbs up. Reception ar at level 2, truly warmed customer services from all level, specially those not the local staff who handle well on questions asked, all are polite with smiling and assisted well
Myself and my husband are happy and impressed with this hotel with all amenities provided. The rate are reasonably even apply on weekend.

Anonymous UserThe hotel's location is excellent, about two kilometers from the city center. It's roughly a 10 MYR taxi ride to attractions like Mural Street and surrounding malls in the city center. Taxis to larger, more upscale malls would be around 20-30 MYR. Within a few hundred meters of the hotel, there are countless food stalls and durian stands, making it incredibly convenient for finding food. The hotel rooms are clean, but I found the beds to be a bit short; taller individuals might feel cramped. Overall, it's comparable to a Jinjiang Inn in China. The gym on the 36th floor offers a good experience, but the rooftop pool's water quality isn't great – it's really only suitable for taking photos and enjoying the panoramic views of Penang. This hotel is a good option for families on a budget who prioritize cleanliness and convenience.

Guest UserThe room was spacious and the location was excellent, making it easy to get to the attractions. There's a rooftop pool, and the room offered great city views and a glimpse of the sea in the distance. It was definitely worth it, and the hotel's luggage storage service was also very thoughtful.
