"I've always wanted to visit Izu, and after seeing recommendations online 🤔, I decided to check out this guesthouse. And it certainly didn't disappoint! 🫵 The owner is from Xi'an. After booking, you can message him on WeChat or email him to let him know your estimated arrival time in Izu. 👌 He'll personally pick you up from the station, and if you want to visit other attractions, he'll also drive you if he's available, saving you travel time. The guesthouse itself is beautiful 👏🏻, with a strong artistic vibe thanks to all the decorations. The proprietress is very talented 👍, and every corner of the room is stunningly decorated. I also have to praise the owner's cooking! 👍 If you're craving Xi'an specialties, you can ask the owner to cook for you. You can order à la carte or choose a guesthouse meal package (a heads-up: there are no restaurants or supermarkets nearby) 😜. We booked breakfast and dinner (for breakfast, you can choose between Chinese or Western) ☺, and the owner's noodles are absolutely amazing 😋. If you want to try Xi'an noodles, you can ask the owner to cook them for you (he mentioned they mostly serve noodles for lunch) 👌. I usually don't have much of an appetite for breakfast, so the owner specially made me a big bowl of Qishan Saozi noodles 🍜. Oh my god 😋, the sour and spicy flavors immediately opened up my appetite! Thank you to the incredible owner for saving my Chinese stomach! 🙏 Oh, and in the evenings, the owner will also take you to nearby hot springs ♨. If you want to experience authentic local hot springs, you should definitely try it! ♨ The owners are very easygoing, and after two days, it felt like we were old friends. I'm already looking forward to my next trip to Izu 🙂 and another taste of the owner's amazing Saozi noodles! 🍜"

"We were extremely satisfied with our stay at this hotel in Atagawa. Every corner of the hotel was thoughtfully decorated, and the staff were very welcoming. The same young man handled both check-in and check-out, and we communicated fluently in English throughout. He provided detailed information, and since we hadn't booked dinner, he proactively recommended several nearby restaurants and local specialties. We even tried the nearby restaurants ”Nishiki” and ”Oboro.” He was especially considerate when we checked out, offering to drive us to the station – a very thoughtful gesture. During our stay, we also enjoyed the two outdoor onsen rooms on the third floor. Soaking in the hot spring while listening to the sound of the waves was truly relaxing. I highly recommend experiencing this hotel in Atagawa."

"Recently, there were many buffet meals, but I was able to eat slowly at the restaurant divided into rooms, without checking that there is a transfer bus at the station ～ 40 minutes walk slowly and walk to the hotel I thought it was a little more in the mountains, but it was a hotel near the river, and there is a hot spring that is also a hot spring in the back of the first floor, and there are two sources, both of which are warm. "I stayed for five nights and chose Imahama Tokyu Hotel over Shimoda Tokyu Hotel, mainly because it's within walking distance to the station, even without using the hotel shuttle. We arrived in Tokyo at 2 PM by plane, so we definitely missed the hotel shuttle. We took a train to Imahama station ourselves, but that station was a pain – no elevator, so we had to carry all our luggage down. Also, the Izu area at night can be a bit spooky with limited street lighting. Ms. Masaki, who checked us in, was very friendly. Later, she even provided emergency first aid for my family and me, which was much appreciated. However, some individual staff members at this hotel weren't very friendly towards foreign guests. Perhaps it's because they mainly cater to local tour groups. Some rude interactions made me uncomfortable, but this was only with a few staff members; most were friendly. Breakfast quality was decent and offered a good variety. Due to personal taste, my options were limited, but every morning there was a freshly prepared item, and they were all quite good. I especially liked the tempura fish and croquettes. The young man frying the croquettes was also very enthusiastic. This hotel also provides a microwave, ice machine, washing machine, and dryer. We didn't use the washing machine and dryer due to questionable hygiene concerns, but the microwave was very convenient. We'd often return to our room in the afternoon for a break and could easily heat up some simple food. The room cleaning service was excellent; it was spotless every day. My only regret is that the sofa bed was uncomfortable. When unfolded, the headrest area sank in, causing neck pain, unlike sofa beds in other hotels. Of course, Ms. Masaki did suggest upgrading to a room with a proper bed for an extra charge during check-in, but I decided against it due to the cost. Additionally, there were a lot of mosquitoes and flying insects in the summer here. We killed several mosquitoes and flies in our room and were bitten during breakfast. After the first night when we enjoyed the view from the balcony, we didn't dare open it again because there were too many bugs, especially at night. I suggest the hotel implements some pest control measures, like mosquito repellent lamps or wall-mounted insecticides (my family uses these every summer to treat our balcony walls)."

"Second time staying here. This time, I was lucky enough to have a room with a view of Mount Fuji. The hotel isn't far from the JR station, about a ten-minute walk, so it's very convenient for going out to eat. The hotel rooms are quite spacious, and the breakfast is plentiful. The hotel service is also excellent. It's definitely worth staying here."

"Better than expected, clean and tidy! The hot spring in the room directly faces Mount Fuji, and you can enjoy the beautiful view of Mount Fuji while sitting on the terrace! "The food was very good. The only disappointing thing was that even though it was Golden Week, there were mosquitoes everywhere in the large building that had overwintered, and my child was bitten by many of them. It was a shame that he was covered in insect bites at the end of April. Mosquitoes also came into the room from the hallway when the door was opened and closed. I killed 10 of them. Also, it was a problem that the shower temperature in the large public bath on the first floor was 40 degrees and the lever could not be changed. Why don't they make it possible to change the temperature? My child said it was too hot, which was a problem."

"I booked a room with one bed, two meals and an open-air bath (think it is semi-open-air?). The room is a traditional tatami room with two beds. The room is very large and comfortable. The meals are semi-buffet style dinner (including hot pot, salt-baked abalone) and buffet style breakfast (including Japanese and Western options, but mainly Japanese style, grilled fish, pickles). By the way, there was a little incident. I originally booked a room without meals and a bath on another website. After booking the current combination here, I canceled the reservation there. However, when we arrived, we were initially assigned a room type without a bath. This is the first time I'm so grateful to have a hotel staff who can speak Chinese, because the other front desk staff are older and don't speak English at all. After several communications, I was able to switch to the room type I expected and got a very satisfying and comfortable accommodation experience. Since the room type comes with a bath, I did not have the chance to use the Kori-kiri bath in the villa, and I could use the large bath in the main building. Unable to share the experience. Another thing to note is that I rented a car and drove there. This villa is across the street from the main hotel of Shihuahai, but it is not very noticeable. If you can’t see it by driving, you can see the welcome in front of Shihuahai. The staff can explain it to him."

"This hotel had a unique, fantastic vibe, almost like a modern ryokan. The staff were all incredibly friendly, and they even gave us a 1000 yen coupon as part of a promotion, which we used to buy some delicious treats. We also thoroughly enjoyed the kaiseki dinner, the dessert buffet, and the breakfast. Plus, the foot bath was a lovely touch! The only minor downside was that the private onsen slot we got was quite late in the evening. Other than that, everything was perfect! I'd recommend booking your private onsen slot well in advance next time."
