this hotel is good overall, but when we arrived, they told us that we didn't have a booking with them and they couldn't locate our booking and details. the room was also said to be taken, and they are waiting for a cancellation in order to get our room. There is a lot of confusion among staff. some visitors were told to leave their rooms once they have entered. we waiting 1 hr 30 min to get our room. so check in was at 4.30pm. parking was also very inconvenient, as we had to park at the basement, which was impossible to even get one if you came into the hotel late and a T&G card was also needed to get validated before leaving the hotel if we wanted a free spot. Room was very spacious and clean. the tea and coffee was hard like its never been changed.

I had a really wonderful stay at this hotel. The room was clean, comfortable, and well maintained, and everything was exactly as expected. The location was also very convenient, with plenty of shops and restaurants nearby. The staff were friendly, helpful, and always willing to assist whenever needed. Overall, I really enjoyed my stay here. The atmosphere was pleasant, the service was great, and I felt very comfortable throughout my stay. I would definitely recommend this hotel to friends and family

I stayed at this hotel for two nights and was very satisfied with everything. The room was spacious, the bedding was comfortable, and the environment was pleasant, truly giving a 'facing the sea, with spring blossoms' vibe. The only thing I was unhappy with was the salesperson at the gift shop next to the lobby on the first floor. I bought a bunch of fridge magnets, and after paying, I asked if they had a gift bag, even offering to pay for it. The Malaysian saleswoman wearing a headscarf suddenly yelled at me, meaning they don't provide gift bags and told me to get out quickly. She really yelled, which was a bit baffling and not a polite tone at all. She clearly wasn't friendly to Chinese people. One star for this attendant. Since the shop is inside the hotel, I consider it bad service. It instantly ruined my mood.

The hotel's public areas are quite good, much better than Parkroyal. It felt very clean walking around inside, especially compared to the dusty streets outside, it was definitely a pleasant contrast. However, by the time I arrived to check in, it was already 3:40 PM. After completing the check-in process, the South Asian front desk attendant said there were no rooms available and I'd have to wait. When I asked how long, he couldn't give a clear answer, and when I asked if it could be done within half an hour, he still said he wasn't sure. I pointed out that the check-in time was 3 PM and not having a room was unreasonable. There was no apology or offer of compensation either. They just directed me to the lounge, where there were some small pastries and desserts (very limited selection), and they didn't even pour a glass of water. My flight was delayed by an hour, and then the Grab ride took another five or six hours, so I was extremely tired. Not being able to check in was really infuriating. While walking around the public area, I suddenly thought of contacting the platform's customer service. The customer service representative understood the situation and immediately helped resolve it. Less than two minutes after I returned to the lounge from contacting customer service, the front desk informed me that a room was available. Thank you, Trip.com customer service representative! Still, I'm quite speechless about the hotel's conduct. Moreover, when we entered, there was another pair of Chinese ladies waiting there, and when we left, it seemed they still hadn't been attended to. (I wonder if it's just a coincidence that only Chinese guests were made to wait, or if it was intentional.)

Had a wonderful stay at Hard Rock Hotel Penang! The facilities were excellent, and the service was great. All the staff were friendly and helpful, especially the housekeeping team. They were very attentive, always willing to help, and responded quickly whenever we needed assistance. The sea and pool views were absolutely beautiful and made our stay even more enjoyable. The kids had so much fun and truly enjoyed their time here. Overall, we had a fantastic experience and will definitely come back again! Highly recommended! 🤘🌊🏊♂️

Hotels nice and good value the pool has a brilliant view, and the food tent across the street has amazing hawker food so cheap. Your only 15 to mind grab ride from Georgetown close enough to enjoy it but far enough to still be relaxed and not over crowded.

The hotel lobby is grand and impressive, reflecting the elegance and luxury expected of a five-star hotel. The front desk staff were warm, welcoming, and efficient, making the check-in process smooth and hassle-free. The room was spacious and bright, the bedding was exceptionally comfortable, and the soundproofing was good. The breathtaking city or sea views from the higher floors were definitely a highlight, making the stay even more enjoyable. However, the breakfast experience could have been better organised. As it was a weekend, the restaurant was extremely crowded. When we arrived at around 9:30 a.m., there was already a long queue outside the restaurant. We asked the staff how long the waiting time would be, but they could only assure us that they would try to accommodate everyone as quickly as possible. All guests had to stand in line and wait, with no clear indication of how long it would take to get a table. Unfortunately, we had a busy schedule that day and could not afford to wait for an uncertain amount of time, so we eventually decided to have breakfast at a nearby restaurant instead. For a five-star hotel, the quality of service and the ability to manage peak-hour crowds are just as important as the facilities and room comfort. It would be great if the hotel could improve its breakfast arrangements during weekends and busy periods by managing guest flow more effectively, providing sufficient seating, and offering a clearer estimate of waiting times. Overall, the stay was enjoyable, and the hotel has many excellent qualities. The breakfast queue was the only major disappointment. I hope the management will take this feedback into consideration and make the necessary improvements to ensure a more seamless experience for guests. For my next visit, I would probably consider staying on a weekday rather than a weekend, and I hope to enjoy an even better experience next time.

Had a wonderful stay at G Hotel Gurney! The location is excellent, right next to Gurney Plaza and very convenient for shopping and dining. The room was clean, spacious, comfortable, and well maintained. The staff were friendly, professional, and very helpful throughout our stay. Check-in and check-out were smooth, and the overall service was excellent. We stayed here with our family and really enjoyed the experience. Definitely one of the best hotels to stay in Penang. Would happily stay here again and highly recommend it!

The location is great for independent solo travellers. It sits right in front of a beach. Breakfast is very good with variety and good service and a great view. However wifi in the room is spotty and the TV reception could be better.
