Having stayed at numerous top-tier five-star hotels both domestically and internationally, especially many in Shanghai, The Bellagio Shanghai is one of the very few that makes me want to return again and again. It's grand yet refined, with impeccable attention to detail. This stay was even better; Penny from guest services was beautiful and enthusiastic. She called and messaged me in advance to inquire about my check-in needs, and upon learning I was with a friend's family, she proactively arranged our rooms on the same floor and close to each other. She thoughtfully prepared fruit and toiletries for the children and even helped coordinate with their partner brand, Range Rover, for station drop-off, ensuring my friend's family and I had a perfect stay. The location is superb, convenient for both The Bund and North Bund, offering Suzhou Creek views, quiet yet central. Another highlight is the fantastic breakfast; The Bellagio's mini wontons are arguably the best in the country. This is a purely handwritten review, and I am extremely, extremely satisfied.

This stay was a truly wonderful surprise! ✨ First and foremost, the river view from the room was absolutely stunning! The moment I opened the curtains, the entire cityscape of Shanghai and the river view unfolded before my eyes. It was so beautiful, words can't even describe it. The joy and happiness I felt in that moment really can't be fully captured by photos. Just sitting in the room, quietly gazing at the view outside, already made this trip feel incredibly worthwhile. ❤️ I especially want to thank the front desk staff! Their service was truly outstanding, so friendly and professional, and incredibly enthusiastic. She even thoughtfully upgraded our room, giving us this fantastic river view room. I have to say, this surprise really elevated the entire check-in experience to another level! A huge thank you for her attentiveness and service. Meeting such staff during a trip truly leaves a lasting and excellent impression of a hotel. Also, the hotel's rooftop is definitely a must-visit! If you're staying here, don't miss the views from the rooftop. Standing there and looking at Shanghai's cityscape and the river view, the panoramic sight is truly breathtaking. It's beautiful during the day, and when the lights come on at night, it's a completely different atmosphere. The entire splendor of Shanghai is right before your eyes; it's truly, truly gorgeous. From the room view and hotel service to the overall experience, this stay left me extremely satisfied. Especially in a city like Shanghai, being able to have such a beautiful river view room, waking up to such a scene in the morning, and enjoying Shanghai's dazzling night view in the evening, is truly blissful. If you're traveling to Shanghai, I highly recommend staying here once! Whether you're on a romantic trip, traveling with friends, or simply looking for a place to truly enjoy Shanghai's urban scenery, this place is absolutely worth it. 💕

The hotel's location is convenient, not far from the subway station, making it very easy for commuting and getting things done. The overall style of the hotel is simple and elegant, the lobby has a great atmosphere, the hallways are quiet, and the soundproofing is excellent, so you won't be disturbed by outside noise at all. The room layout is well-designed, with clear distinctions between the work and rest areas, and the room size is ample, so it doesn't feel cramped. The room cleanliness is impeccable, and the toiletries have a fresh scent. The bedding is comfortable, allowing for a good rest and relaxation after a busy day. Front desk staff Z handled check-in and extension procedures quickly and even proactively offered recommendations for nearby dining and shopping spots. The hotel has a gym and a self-service laundry room, providing complete amenities. Overall, the stay was comfortable and reassuring. Choosing this hotel was a great decision, and I will definitely book it again in the future.

The hotel has a great location—the main shopping street and the waterfront are within walking distance. The metro is within walking distance, which is very important (a two-minute walk). This is especially important because, when returning to the hotel tired in the evening, we could quickly get from the metro to the hotel. I also want to express my sincere gratitude to the reception manager, Suki — she helped us arrange our domestic flight to the Avatar Mountains (we couldn't check in or choose seats). She was a very pleasant and responsible woman! Thank you for a wonderful stay!

The room layout is well-designed, and the facilities are well-maintained. The service is attentive yet discreet. The front desk staff, Marry, was professional and patient. Breakfast offered a good balance of taste and quality, with timely replenishment during peak hours.

From the moment you push open the revolving doors, you embark on a journey through time. The hotel's exterior boasts a distinctive look, with staggered balconies adorned with fresh blue hydrangeas. The soft, creamy white walls, paired with vintage geometric carvings, make it a quiet and elegant presence amidst the city's bustling traffic. Looking up, a red-brick Gothic church tower stands nearby, new and old architecture echoing each other. On one side, the clamor of a modern metropolis; on the other, the charm of old Shanghai, steeped in a hundred years of history – the atmosphere is absolutely captivating. Stepping into the lobby, the street noise instantly fades away. Retro patterned marble floors stretch forward, while the high, vaulted stained-glass ceiling casts a dazzling light. Sunlight filters through, creating shifting patterns and an overwhelming sense of history. In the center of the hall stands an elegant black grand piano, poised as if ready to play the enchanting melodies of old Shanghai. Colonnades, vintage chandeliers, exquisite floral arrangements – the recent renovation hasn't erased the building's original historical essence but has instead perfectly blended modern comfort with old-world elegance. Every detail is worth a moment's appreciation. The guest rooms continue the serene and elegant style. Dark brown wooden doorframes and a headboard featuring red and gold vintage patterns are complemented by a soft, sophisticated carpet. There are no overly flamboyant decorations; it's understated yet luxurious. The bed is soft and comfortable, the room is bright and airy, offering a tranquil escape from the bustling city. At night, closing the windows effectively blocks out street noise, ensuring a peaceful sleep. The bathroom is spacious, with marble countertops, a retro carved mirror, and even a bathtub. After a long day, a hot bath washes away travel fatigue. The amenities truly live up to the standard of a well-established luxury hotel. The geographical location is undoubtedly the hotel's strongest asset. Situated in the city center, Huangpu District, it's within walking distance of key attractions like People's Square, The Bund, and Nanjing Road Pedestrian Street. Stepping out, you're right in the vibrant streets of Shanghai, making transportation incredibly convenient for sightseeing and dining. Of course, a century-old building will inevitably bear the marks of time. Compared to newly built hotels, the room layouts here have a unique retro charm. But this unparalleled sense of historical atmosphere is precisely the most precious gift the Yangtze Hotel offers. If you're tired of generic chain hotels and wish to understand Shanghai in a different way, the Yangtze Hotel is an excellent choice. Here, you're not just staying in a room; you're living a forgotten chapter of the city's past, a gentle reunion with old Shanghai.

The hotel facilities aren't brand new, and it doesn't have all the trendy, flashy stuff you see in influencer-style hotels, but it has everything you need. The AC and hot water work great, the bed is very comfortable, and the toiletries are all there. It's perfectly adequate for a regular stay and doesn't detract from the experience at all – truly great value for money. Honestly, when I stay at a hotel, I don't look for luxury; attentive service and cleanliness are enough. This hotel doesn't rely on gimmicks; it's all about genuine care. It's perfect whether you're traveling for leisure or business, and it's definitely a place I'd choose again next time. I wholeheartedly recommend it.

The overall experience was excellent, and the service staff were very patient. The room view was superb; making sangria with the complimentary wine and fruit and enjoying it by the window while taking a bath was a wonderfully comfortable experience. They had already turned down the bed when we returned from dinner. The lady who brought the pillows was very helpful, bringing four for me to try and choose from. When checking out, they asked for any feedback or suggestions, and I genuinely couldn't think of any at the time. After leaving, I did recall two things worth mentioning: first, the afternoon tea set's contents and presentation differed from the pictures and menu when purchased; second, several of the bubble jets in the hot tub were broken.

This hotel is super conveniently located right next to the Dashijie subway station, making it easy to get around to places like People's Square, Nanjing Road, and Jing'an Temple. Plus, Yunnan Road Food Street is just a stone's throw away. The hotel itself has a charming 'old money' vibe, full of character. This time, my room was spotless, the soundproofing was excellent, and I had a lovely view of the Art Park. The hotel breakfast also offers local specialties, and the xiaolongbao were quite good. There's a laundry room with a washer and a dryer, but they were a bit complicated to operate, so I hope they can improve that.

This hotel is stunning and luxurious, with a beautiful environment that leaves a strong first impression. However, it is quite old, and the maintenance is lacking: the room’s parquet flooring was damaged, the shower floor was cracked, the bathroom TV didn’t work, and there were stains on the carpet and walls. On the positive side, the breakfast was excellent and offered a wide variety. Unfortunately, there were some disappointments: • No toilet with a bidet shower system, which is surprising for a high-end hotel. • The pool was not filled to its normal water level, and the pool bar advertised was closed during our stay. • Not enough sun loungers around the pool, making it difficult to relax comfortably. This hotel has great potential, but it needs better upkeep to fully live up to its luxurious reputation.
