"Disappointing — Not the Taj Experience I Expected I stayed one night at Taj Cape Town and, having stayed, worked, and studied at other Taj properties worldwide, I left feeling that this hotel does not deliver the signature “Taj” experience. Location: Excellent — centrally located and convenient for business and sightseeing. Rooms: Very good. The guest room was well-appointed, comfortable, and met the standard I expect from a five-star property. No complaints on accommodations. Food & Beverage: Below expectations for a Taj. The breakfast buffet was serviceable but average — acceptable for a quick meal, but nothing memorable in terms of variety, presentation, or quality. The on-site Asian restaurant is extremely small (about five tables) and suffers from poor ventilation: the exhaust does not appear to function adequately, so the space quickly fills with an oily cooking smell that lingers and detracts from the dining experience. The food itself was below the quality I would expect from a Taj-branded restaurant. Service & Brand Feel: This is where the hotel most noticeably misses the mark. While staff were professional, the overall atmosphere lacked the warm, polished service and attention to detail that distinguishes other Taj properties I have experienced. It felt more like a standard city hotel operating under the Taj name rather than a hotel delivering the full Taj brand promise. Value: Concerning. The hotel charges approximately INR 2,000 per day for parking — a steep add-on that should be clearly communicated up front and factored into the overall value proposition. Summary: The location and rooms are strong points, but the average breakfast, a small and poorly ventilated Asian restaurant, and an overall absence of the characteristic Taj hospitality leave this property short of expectations. If you are seeking the classic Taj experience, this particular hotel may not meet that standard."

"The Westin, Cape Town, is an old hotel, but it continues to maintain its presence, quality, and some high standard in Cape Town. We stayed here for 8 days, during a friend's 60th birthday celebration event in Cape Town. We occupied an executive room and were also given access to the executive club on the 19th floor. The room was very nice, with good linen, bed of high standard. That said, we had to lodge a complaint on the hurried nature of how our room was cleaned on our second day of stay. The bed was not made properly, the carpet floor wasn't clean, and the bathroom was half cleaned. It's not good for a 5-star hotel. After complaining, the housekeeper made amends, and the cleaning standard was raised to the highest standard for the duration of our stay. We also ordered food from room service and half of what we ordered were not brought - they gave us something else, but after waiting for 45 mins for the original order to be brought to us we reluctabtly accepted the wrong order, ate the food and then lodged our complaints later. The breakfast buffet was alright, but there weren't great selections of cold meats in the cold meat section. They really need to improve on this. Lastly, the overall service delivery by some of the staff really need serious improvement. Some of the staff in the restaurant are way too loud when talking to each other, and some of them even give out bad unwelcoming and nonchalant attitude/vibe to their customers. It is like they feel that they're doing us, their clients, a favour by serving us. Not good enough for a hotel of this standard, abd some of those staff need to be retrained. Overall, we enjoyed our stay at The Westin and we will definitely come back there when next we visit Cape Town."

"Cool boutique hotel with large rooms. Great rooftop restaurant for breakfast serving excellent choices of food !  Only downside is it’s located on a pedestrian street and taxis cannot drop off in front of hotel, and I was a bit concerned as I arrived very late at night."

"I chose Pullman for my conference in Cape Town this time, and it made my stay incredibly hassle-free – perfect for business travelers! The location truly deserves high praise. My conference venue was just an 8-minute walk away, so I didn't have to rush in the mornings. My daily commute was completely stress-free. It's right in the city center, and from my window, I had views of the city skyline and streets. At night, the floor-to-ceiling windows offered a fantastic ambiance with expansive views of the city lights and street traffic below. The hotel's internal restaurant has a very comfortable atmosphere. The decor is modern and minimalist, with clearly defined sections for sofa booths and individual tables. The lighting is soft and pleasant, and the combination of carpets and greenery adds a touch of quality. It's suitable whether you're just having a coffee alone or a casual meal with others; it never felt noisy or crowded. The breakfast selection was especially rich, with a full spread of hot and cold dishes, fruits, and beverages. The highlight was the made-to-order omelet station, where you could customize your omelet with various fillings – fresh and incredibly tender. There was also a coffee bar where I ordered a layered latte with dense foam, which was perfect for an invigorating start to the morning. The kitchen and food pick-up areas were well-organized, and the floors were clean. The staff were friendly and refilled items promptly, so I didn't have to wait in long lines during breakfast. The public areas are thoughtfully designed, with tasteful wall decorations and premium-looking hotel brand counters. The lounge areas have plenty of greenery, creating a relaxing and un压抑 atmosphere. My room was on a high floor, and the soundproofing was excellent; with the windows closed, I could barely hear the traffic noise from the street below. The floor-to-ceiling windows provided great natural light. Overall, the facilities are well-maintained, and the hardware is up to par. All the amenities needed for a business trip are available, making it suitable for both short conference stays and longer visits. Its value for money and convenience are highly competitive among city-center hotels. I would definitely choose this hotel again next time I'm in Cape Town for business!"

"Lovely stay at Pepperclub - recommended. We chose to celebrate a big milestone in South Africa to create some very special memories. We toured from Joburg, through Nambiti to Durban and then onto Cape Town, and we booked Pepperclub to have a pampered end to our trip. The location is great, near Bo Kaap, local markets and safe to walk around. We had no problem getting where we needed to go. The hotel is very clean including the communal areas, gym and of course the rooms. However, housekeeping was more 4* - simple requests like extra blankets needed to be chased, and the turndown of the room happened every day but was inconsistent (sometimes the bathroom was cleaned and restocked, sometimes not). Similarly, the service was inconsistent even through the reception/concierge was always well staffed - Godfrey always greeted us enthusiastically, and there was another duty manager that was very diligent and followed-up well. However, when Godfrey was not on shift the welcome was more muted, and the staff on reception weren't exactly warm and not always efficient. Restaurant staff were always very warm and friendly. Breakfast was great - with good selection of buffet and a la carte options served swiftly. Lunch options were good too, and room service was efficient. Spa was excellent with very good massages and treatments. The Gym is good, though a little small, and for clarity the pool is not heated (but is beautiful). We didn't get a chance to try the private Odeon cinema, but they only had older movies not the newer ones found at public Odeon cinemas. Great views of Table Mountain and Lions Head from the rooms. The hotel were able to grant our special requests of early check-in, inter-leading rooms and they dressed the room and provided cake and bubbly to celebrate our anniversary - lovely touches. You won't regret your stay, but you may not be compelled to stay again."

"This stay was absolutely magnificent from arrival to departure, upgraded as we arrived at the hotel. The staff, incredible! Always doing more than asked, going out of their way to assist in making plans, arranging transport or just providing extra information. Shout out to Claudia, who was patient and articulate. She stopped her work in order to attend to me at all times. Shout out to Dewald, humorous, witty and exquisitely piquant. Always up for a conversation amd willing to make anything amd everything more convenient for the guests. Rennia and Alice, ebullient and light-hearted, i felt the care and meticulous nature of their work through all they did, and the smiles they provided, thank you! The entire staff, quite warm and accommodating! Clean room, aesthetically modern and quaint. 100% recommended, convenient location for all your needs!"

"The deduction is actually Ctrip's service. Ctrip cannot score. The hotel actually does not allow children under the age of 13 to live. Ctrip itself did not write it clearly. After complaining, it was left unmanaged for a long time. The efficiency was very low and shirk responsibility. Finally, negotiated with the hotel for half a day. Nothing was allowed for the pool. . . Overall the hotel is ok, breakfast is to be prepared by yourself, and things are plentiful. The police did not have to say that thirty meters was the police station. . . . . The room is also big, but it is a bit expensive"

"This hotel is in the centre of the CBD. It’s closer to many local amenities and long street. The hotel staff are very friendly and helpful. Breakfast has a variety of options and the restaurant is open until very late at night and has local and international cuisines like Korean short rib and Vietnamese spring roll. The rooms are very clean and spacious. They have The Grotto Spa within the hotel which I highly recommend. I definitely would suggest you check it out if you plan to visit Cape Town."
