"I went with high expectations since it is a newly opened hotel. Check-in and check-out were very convenient, and I consider it a plus that you can enjoy free wine and juice if you are in the lobby on the second floor at a designated time. It was also nice to have a luggage storage service and laundry and drying facilities on the third floor. Furthermore, I was pleased to find a machine to exchange cash for coins, so I didn't experience any inconvenience using machines that only accept 100-yen bills. I think this would actually be advantageous for long-term guests. The price is on the higher side, but it has the advantage of being close to JR Takamatsu Station, the castle, and the shopping district. In that regard, you can save time and money. It seems like it would serve as an excellent base for traveling to Okayama, Matsuyama, nearby small towns, or even Kochi or Tokushima. So, honestly, I think it is a very good hotel. Although the space isn't large, the interior is sufficiently efficient, and while the soundproofing isn't perfect, it is still sufficient for rest."

"The hotel rooms were impeccably clean, with comfortable beds and modern facilities. Both the bathrooms and the overall environment were maintained pristine and peaceful. The staff were polite and attentive, even assisting us in booking an early morning taxi to the Shodoshima pier. This hotel boasts an excellent location, making travel incredibly convenient. The JR station, bus stops, and highway bus terminal are all nearby. What's even better is that the ferry terminal is just a few minutes' walk away. In the evenings, you can enjoy a refreshing sea breeze and admire the night views at Takamatsu Port. The breakfast is abundant and delicious, and the dining staff are particularly warm and attentive! If I ever visit Takamatsu again, I would definitely choose this hotel!

The staff of Olivean Shodoshima Yuhigaoka Hotel are professional and considerable. Their service are excellent, especially 1) The shuttle bus driver (morning shift strong man, forgot asking his name). When we arrived at Shodoshima Ferry Pier at 11:00am on April 7, we found a hotel shuttle bus, but not sure if it's the one of our staying hotel. We asked the driver if it's the one that waiting to pick us up. He said yes, but the hotel check-in time should be 3:00pm in the afternoon. He suggested us to have the sightseeing first and helped register the afternoon time for picking us instead. Also, he suggested taking our hand carry bags to the hotel front desk to avoid we carrying too heavy bags while travelling. 2) The lady staff (sorry for forgetting her name) at the lobby hall, who was very proactive. She came over immediately to help taking photos for us when she found we're taking a selfie. She also served us with free drinks for enjoying the sunset at the hall. 3) The staff at the reception desk are very professional. They helped us for check-in, explained the details of the time for meals, and provided all the information required. 4) The foods for dinner & breakfast buffet are very nice and yummy. The restaurant is clean and tidy. Overall, Olivean Shodoshima Yuhigaoka Hotel is a very professional and comfortable accommodation for stay. We're pleased and feel glad choosing this hotel.

The hotel's location is fantastic. It's a 10-minute walk to Kochi Station, and the airport shuttle bus stop is right outside. The famous Love Bridge is also just behind the hotel. The shopping street is only a few minutes' walk away, making it super convenient for eating, browsing, and shopping. Hirome Market is also nearby. The front desk staff were very patient and thoughtful. The breakfast was good, and they had delicious bonito. Plus, the room windows actually open! I'd definitely stay here again next time I'm in Kochi.

Here’s a concise and enthusiastic hotel review in English: I highly recommend this hotel! The location is absolutely unbeatable — just a 3-5 minute walk from a vibrant nightlife district and a food street packed with amazing options. The on-site bathhouse is spotless and even offers free ice cream, which was a delightful surprise. Breakfast is incredibly rich and varied, with something for everyone. I booked an accessible room, and it was genuinely spacious. It's really comfortable to stay in a 35 sqm room in Japan. There was a slight odor when I first entered the room, but it cleared up after I turned on the air purifier. Downside: The soundproofing isn't great. Upside: Everything else is a plus. The location is excellent. There's an airport shuttle right downstairs, which costs 1000 yen and goes directly to the airport. There are frequent services, almost hourly. Location: Whether you're going to the airport, Takamatsu Port for island hopping, or the JR station, everything is within walking distance. It's a 12-minute walk to Takamatsu Port, which was perfect for our island-hopping itinerary. Mitsukoshi department store is just a few minutes' walk from the hotel, and it has an LV store with plenty of stock. There are also many choices for drugstores, restaurants, and cafes. The room was cleaned daily. One time, I forgot to hang the 'please clean' sign and thought it wouldn't be done, but when I returned to the room, it felt completely refreshed, which was a lovely surprise. I forgot to take photos of the room, so I've included a picture of the beautiful blue sea and sky instead.

I loved staying in Dormy inn.The room wasn't spacious, but it had everything you may need for a comfortable stay. The bed was big and comfortable.Though I didn't have a shower, in the room, I could use onsen which was terrific! It has both indoor and outdoor baths., very clean , well equipped. Nice music ,nice aroma in the sauna. There's a coin washing machine and vending machines as well. The location of the hotel was very handy, walking distance from the port and bus station, lots of restaurants around.

But this hotel does not have a formal counter to check in, so we also need to pay attention to the brand nearby before seeing which store to go to to handle the check in service. The most unacceptable thing is that when booking this hotel, the check-in payment has been deducted, and the payment will be officially made when you arrive at the local area, and then you have to wait for 3-35 days before arrange the original return. I have waited for a month so far, and there is no refund. According to the customer service of trip.com, the payment has not been refunded because the hotel has not made a loan, so I have to wait. This hotel is definitely one of the best, if not the best, on Shodoshima. They also have a pool with a sea view, but I didn't bring a swimsuit so I didn't go.
