The room was a bit dated, but the main issue was how uncomfortable the duvet was. They just had a sheet under the duvet instead of the duvet being properly covered with a duvet cover. The sheet kept getting tangled at night and wouldn't stay tucked in. The hotel's main advantage is its own ski resort. While not huge, it's perfectly fine for beginners, and only allows two-plank skiing. Plus, the hotel includes ski tickets, and there's a ski rental shop nearby, which is quite convenient. A slight annoyance was that check-in isn't until 3 PM; we arrived at 2:30 PM and had to sit in the lobby until 3. The large public bath was spacious and good for showering. On a side note, on our way back, the shuttle bus was full, so the hotel sent a separate minivan for my family, which was excellent! We really felt valued!
In the old resort hotel, the waiter has a kind of old-fashioned and honest devotion. In order to book dinner, he called me five or six times to arrange and confirm. Because the hotel is halfway up the mountain, every meal I ate at the hotel. I ate French, shabushabu and Italian, and the standard was good. Hotel hot spring is the best hot spring in Japan in recent years. Akakura Sightseeing Snow Resort also feels more ancient and wild, and has a unique flavor.
The hotel itself was nice, but the staff at the ski resort was horrible, the rentals are also not well maintained. The boards are not waxed, which makes it difficult to work with as there are a lot of flat routes which are difficult to avoid (Pony and village road were the flattest slope Ive ever seen in my life, I had to unstrap and walk and the board just wouldn't move). Ski resort staff were unfriendly and the rental staff was the worst, there was a lady there that was cold and rude. The only reason why the rental shop is surviving is probably because the equipments are salomon branded and that there is no other option. I would visit again but only because the routes are fun, Myoko long run was the best, but I would never want to rent from the shop again.
The food was very very good. For breakfast, you could choose from western or Japanese buffet. Western buffet is highly recommended, the omelette was the best ive eaten in my life and there was a diy risotto which was great as well. For dinner, there were 4 options, either buffet, steak, Japanese or shabushabu. All requiring reservations which is tough if you are checking in the evening as some might not be available. Highly recommend the steak, the food was good and the staff were amazing. Japanese was the hardest to get a reservation for but the food was quite underwhelming. The room was clean and ski lockers are also provided but it's tiny and can barely fit 2 boards. But I wish that in the toilet in the common area, you can adjust the tap temperature as the water is freezing cold.
Amenities wise, bottled water are provided daily, also, yukata was provided but you can only wear them to the onsen which was extremely troublesome as I had to change multiple times a day.
The hotel provides shuttle bus services to and fro jyoetsumyoko station which was easy to book. The bus drivers were also friendly and helped out with the luggage.
In summary, for a 5 stars hotel, it didn't live up to expectations, ski resort and rental staffs were unwilling to help and unfriendly. Also, some of the staffs could not speak Japanese which is puzzling for a hotel in Japan. If not for the amazing snow and slopes I would never come back.
Was given a room with 2 single beds. When I checked with the reception, they said their level 10 was under renovation and that my booking doesn't give me a choice. This is the first time I was told I don't have a choice to the bed configuration.
Rooms are not sound proof. We could hear voices from next room.
Room is spacious by Japanese standard, and location is good, near to Bandai Pier and fashion shopping. We could walk to the train station in 10 minutes.
Enjoyed our stay.
I felt a little far from the station, but it was a distance to walk at all.
The room was clean, the bathtub was large and it was easy to take a shower.
I was grateful that breakfast was included for free, and I was happy that there was a specialty tarekatsu on the menu.
The location is not satisfactory. I only stayed at 19:00 on the month of the shuttle bus, but I have my own snow field. It is super clean (only double boards). I can't see mold at all! But it's a pity that I have to stay for 4 days and 3 nights before I have housekeeping cleaning and re-made the bed. I only stayed for three days and two nights. Friends will recommend ~~
Overall clean and the atmosphere of the employees was good.
However, I was worried that I could hear the voice of the corridor and the sound of the next room. The hot spring was large!

Property is set in a very quiet and peaceful environment. Very clean and modern. Well maintained after its renovation. There are plenty of free parking space.
Room is big but unfortunately without shower/bath - a big negative for the property. There are two common showers for the whole hotel which must be busy during peak seasons. I recommend the hotel especially during off peak season when you can use the public showers. Otherwise you have to use the bathing facilities in the onsen.
It's a bit of a walk from the station, but considering the extensive facilities, it's worth it.
I had a very comfortable stay, with a large public bath, two restaurants, and a 24-hour convenience store.
Bandai City is within walking distance, making it easy to go shopping.
I had booked a plan that didn't include breakfast, but when I checked in, they added it to my stay for one day (1,800 yen).
It was delicious.
I was also able to request luggage storage after check-out.
Although it's a little far from the station, I'm glad I chose this hotel!
