"This is the best hostel I've ever stayed in! It was really cheap, even during peak summer travel season! The bed was much more spacious than I expected; I could even organize my luggage right there. The second-floor common area has everything you need. It's super convenient for cooking and heating up food, and there are three refrigerators, making it easy to store your items. Seating for meals is also great, with high individual seats and large tables. There's also free luggage storage where you can lock your bags to a rack. They don't charge extra if you check out late. You can sit anywhere on the first floor. Even after the coffee shop closed at night, many people were still lounging and chatting there. I'm not sure if this hostel is Indian-owned or if there are Indian staff working here, but it felt like everyone was a foreigner, so we all looked out for each other. I felt really good here! If I ever stay in Kyoto for an extended period again, I'll definitely choose this place!"

"The room was clean and spacious for the 3 of us. I was very impressed with the customer service. Before arrival, we received a message asking for our estimated time of arrival so that they can heat up the room before our arrival. The receptionist was also very responsive to our requests for additional mattresses for the tatami bed and even helped to transport our luggage bags to and fro from the rooms upon arrival and departure."

"My four-night stay at Iwatoyama Hostel was truly fantastic, and it's definitely a place I'd love to visit again. From the moment I arrived, I felt a warm and welcoming atmosphere. The lobby is spacious and bright, and the common areas are tastefully and simply decorated, making it easy to relax, chat, or organize luggage. It’s also a great spot for travelers to connect. The room was clean and tidy, with a comfortable bed and fresh-smelling linens, ensuring a good night's sleep every night. The bathroom was kept very clean, well-stocked with amenities, and had stable hot water and good water pressure. Throughout my four-day stay, I could tell the hostel paid great attention to cleanliness; the common areas were always spotless, which made me feel very comfortable. The location is a major plus. It’s conveniently located near the station, making public transportation or walking to attractions very easy. There are also convenience stores and restaurants nearby, so finding something to eat in the evening was never an issue. It’s an ideal base for exploring Kyoto, saving a lot of travel time. The friendly and welcoming staff truly enhanced my stay. The front desk staff provided clear explanations and patiently assisted with any issues, making me feel right at home. Even brief conversations showed their genuine care. They offered detailed advice on travel information and transportation, which was incredibly helpful for an out-of-town guest. The facilities are excellent too. The communal kitchen is well-equipped, so it's easy to prepare simple meals. The laundry facilities are convenient, especially for guests staying multiple days. The overall environment is quiet and comfortable, with no noisy disturbances, allowing for a restful night. These four nights made my trip even smoother and more enjoyable. The cleanliness, location, service quality, and overall ambiance all met or exceeded my expectations. If I return to Kyoto in the future, I will definitely choose this hostel again and recommend it to my friends. A big thank you to the hostel team for such a wonderful experience!"

"As a long-time guest here, I want to reiterate that staying here is a great value for money. I work part-time in Kyoto, and after my shifts, I come back here to rest, shower, surf the internet, and eat. I'll likely stay here again on future trips to Kyoto."

"The location is good near mtr. Can walk around 30mintus to another attraction, the colleagues so nice , you can cook by your self .there are many supermarkets nearby. Cause Japanese’s food didn’t have enough vegetables. The colleagues will help to clean. But there are little noises at 6am ,someone will turn on the lights and package there luggage.it depends on the roommate quality. But I kindly suggest girls and boys floor should be separate .there are many boys don’t wear shirt after shower."

"This place is super close to Shosei-en Garden and Higashi Hongan-ji Temple, just a little over a 5-minute walk. Picture four shows the building where they serve porridge; guests staying in the other two buildings can also come here for breakfast. The hostel's beds and bathrooms are quite clean, and it's quiet at night."

"Excellent hotel location, right in the city center. The main temples and a variety of delicious Japanese restaurants are all within walking distance. The building is over 100 years old, yet everything is stylish and sturdy, making for a very atmospheric and pleasant stay! Bike rentals and a smoking area are available. It's very clean and there are no insects. My only drawback was the poor or non-existent internet, which forced me to use mobile internet for remote work. However, this didn't spoil the experience at all considering all the positives. I highly recommend it!"

"The room was quite clean, and there's a hot spring you can soak in (though it's actually just a pool). However, after checking out, even though I returned the key, I still received an email saying I hadn't. That made me worry for a while, but thankfully it turned out to be a misunderstanding."

"It's a 6-minute walk from Demachiyanagi Station, and there are convenience stores and supermarkets nearby, so it's a good location. There is a kitchen in the shared space on the second floor, which is very convenient for those who want to cook for themselves. There are also free drinks, manga, and books. The third floor is a dormitory space, and it is air-conditioned and clean, but in the case of mixed-gender accommodation, the upper bunk beds are not completely separated, so there is no privacy, which is a bit tough, especially for women. The lower bunk beds have curtains that can be closed, so I think they're fine... There are showers and toilets on both the second and third floors. It's good when it's not crowded, but if it's crowded, it may be a hassle to wait in line. There is a curfew, and you can't go out until 6:00 in the morning, so it may be a bit inconvenient for those who want to go out early in the morning."
