Oxford South (Didcot)

Arrived tired. The receptionist was kind, efficient, and had the room key cards ready. The room was as quiet as it could be near the A34. Lovely to lie on a comfortable Premier Inn bed and relax to the sound of rain outside. The bathroom was clean and the shower worked well. All good, until we tried to eat at the adjoining Beefeater (already reviewed). I can thoroughly recommend Didcot South Premier Inn as a stop off, or as a base for trips into Oxford and the local area.

I chose this Premier Inn mainly for its location as I was visiting family nearby. There were other options but the location was good both for my journey in to the area and for being close to family. I did suspect that there may be an issue with traffic noise being so close to the interchange and so packed earplugs - I didn’t need them, it was surprisingly peaceful and I had a great nights sleep. The other minor concern was that there is no aircon, and it was quite a warm night but my room had a large fan which was excellent and quite quiet so I was able to switch that on and there was no issue. I would definitely stay here again. I used the kiosk to check in as there was a queue but I spoke to staff members at other times and they were totally delightful, really great customer service.

Needed overnight room for family as visiting family in the area The room is fine and the service from staff was good The problem is the queue at breakfast with one member of staff doing just about everything ate elsewhere.Still waiting for refund.

Pummy at the reception was so friendly and efficient. Easy check in. The rooms were super clean. Liked the table with charity staff by the reception. The kids enjoyed it. Breakfast was amazing, open buffet. Will definitely come again. Thanks all

We don't stay away much, but always use Didcot Premier Inn. The staff are friendly and always help with our requests. The room is always clean, although starting to feel like it's in need of an update, but the staff are what keep us coming back.

Great location if you are traveling north or south. virtually on the A34 junction. Right next to a petrol station. Awkward for going into Didcot.

Shower area was not clean, failed extractor fan (reported on first day and not fixed), TV didn't work properly on HD channels, pointless hvac controls, Sunday morning breakfast a mess: told no need to reserve tables and ended up not sitting with my family (waitress on Sunday clearly under pressure), bar prices too high and poor choice of drinks - also closed at 10, food choice & quality wasn't great so ate elsewhere

As regular and loyal Premier Inn customers we were most disappointed in the booking reservation and in house dining meal deal offer and overall service for which generally is of a high standard in other locations. Pre-booking a family room on a flex deal we discovered upon arrival allocation of just a double bedroom and was informed due to the bank holiday weekend no alternative suites were available. However by then paying out for a second room we then found each had a double and sofa bed for which would have sufficed for the x3 of us. Further issues arose due to the delay in reallocation of rooms - roughly 1 hour admin, to find our meal deal in the adjoining Beefeater diner closing the kitchen at 9pm so no dessert was offered and staff were more interested in clearing tables and setting breakfast. The evening meal although of good standard was spoilt by the sense of atmosphere of rushing to close the restraunt section, despite drinking in the bar area continuing post 10pm. Breakfast experience was completely the opposite and senior staff helpful and apologetic. Our family expeirence of Didcot Oxford South is in complete contrast to nearly every other Premier Inn we have encountered by staying at or visiting attached diners and with multi generation roots in Oxfordshire most disappointed in the standard of service offered.

Very disappointed with the room had panel from bathroom fall out on my foot injuring my toe . Ths bed lining was disgusting and filthy we found staines when we woke up felt sick sheets dirty and over all room was poorly kept .if get room 18 give the card back go over the road to the Marriott!
