I can only describe this hotel as a budget hotel charging 4 star prices! Throughout our road trip around Switzerland we have so far stayed in 7 hotels, with this one being the worst experience by far. Prior to arrival the staff I communicated with to arrange our stay were extremely helpful as were the staff on reception when we arrived but these were the only two good things about this hotel. Here are the cons: - On arrival there are only steps up to the hotel with no one to help with luggage. When you have two large cases this is not a great welcome - we were informed there was a touch pad in the room which would give us all the info we needed for the hotel, however this was only available In French or German! - through Google translate we worked out there was no room service option - but only the option of the restaurant, which required formal dress. As we are on a hiking holiday we did not have anything and therefore unable to eat in the hotel. We understand the dress code but at least give an option of room service for those who do not want to dress up - there were no tea or coffee making facilities in the room and we were not made aware of use of a machine anywhere in the hotel - no fruit in the room on arrival, just toffees! - only warm sparkling water, no still in the room - dressing gowns looked very used / dirty - the fridge in the room was useless as a fridge, did not cook our drinks at all. - the balcony was separate by a few small planters to the room next door, so very little privacy - the first day at breakfast there was no one to great us and no sign to say wait to be seated, so we chose a table, when the waitress finally came to offer tea or coffee she never asked us for our room number or name. The following day we assumed as it was not an issue the day before we could sit where we want. Again no sign of the waitress so we chose a table and started to get our breakfast. The waitress then came over and told us to move as we had to sit in the same places as we did last night!! As we did not eat there last night, this did not make any sense and she insisted we move as the table was reserved for a family, even though nearly every other table was free! If this is the system, this needs to be explained either on arrival or the first morning at breakfast and put a sign up as on both occasions the waitress was no where to be seen so we assumed we seat ourselves. To move someone mid breakfast is utterly ridiculously and extremely bad customer service - as for the choice of breakfast, it was extremely poor and minimal options - Apart from the pre chopped fruit there was no fresh fruit option. - the cereal we poured out had a bug in it that ended up in our bowl - when asked if they do any hot food, the response was yes, I had to ask what and was told egg! Just egg, nothing else - no toaster For what they are charging compared to what they offer is a complete joke, I would suggest to anyone looking for a nice luxury stay to avoid this ho
