Max Guest House

With 5 star ratings I felt confident in choosing Max’s Guest House and I’m so glad I did. Not only does Max have lodging accommodations, he owns a taxi service, a cafe, and he is a local with ***y recommendations for travelers. My dad and I are both gluten and dairy free, which can make eating while traveling difficult. When we mentioned this to Max he not only knew what gluten free meant, he was able to cook food that we could safely eat. We ended up eating all of our meals at Max’s during our stay in Agra.

Max made the whole experience easy and enjoyable with helpful local knowledge to avoid us being ripped off. He planned both our transfers for us and was always available to help. He gave fantastic service and homely stay, and allowed us to help ourselves to drinks as needed and pay at the end. He even helped with money exchange and gave the same rates as we got elsewhere meaning there was no hassle at all.

We had a great stay at Max Guest House. We stayed for 3 nights and Max kindly let us check in early due to our early arrival into Agra. As it was cold at night, he provided extra blankets for us which was great. We would definitely recommend that anybody stay here and we would definitely stay again.

We stayed at Max Guesthouse during our tour of India in December 2023. We were very impressed with such a gracious welcome and a lot of helpful information from Max. Max also provides taxi transport services from Agra to Delhi, Jaipur, Ranthambore and other locations at very decent prices! Believe me, I called 5 transport companies to hire a car with a driver from Agra to Ranthambore and in the end Max had the best deal. We have rented for INR 8300 on our customized program with stops at Fatehpur Sikri and Abhaneri StepWell, if going directly from Agra to Ranthambore without stops it would have cost us INR 7500. The guesthouse itself is ordinary, with standard accommodation appropriate to its cost. Breakfast is ok, offered to choose from 3 options. I highly recommend Max Guesthouse unless you need a 4*-5* hotel.

So glad we found Max’s guest house. Lovely large room with own bathroom and a shared sunny living area outside Max made sure we were always happy. He was able to arrange our guide so we had the best experience possible when visiting the attractions. You can have a simple home cooked meal and would recommend the Dosa. Max’s friendly hospitality was first rate. Highly recommend.

Easy, comfortable, good value clean. Max was brilliant from start to end and ensured an easy, hassle free stay in Agra. He was informative and friendly and helped with our ongoing transport to our next destination. Would highly recommend!

Clean and comfortable and Max was brilliant -he even organised the transfer from Delhi at a really good price. Max helped us with information, helping with onward travel and advising on Taj Mahal visit. A great place to stay and friendly helpful staff. ***y thanks!

Max couldn’t do enough for us! Firstly he organised the taxi from Delhi to Agra. Our flight got in during the early hours. He then organised our visit to Taj Mahal with a driver. As we arrived very early he kindly allowed us to check into the room super early and he and his mother made us some breakfast, which was much appreciated. He recommended a lovely restaurant in Agra which was fabulous for dinner. We stayed the one night and had to be up early for a train to Jaipur. He again was up early as we left his Guest House at just after 5am and waited to ensure we got a tuk tuk. He even offered to take us to the train station if the tuk tuk didn’t arrive. Max is a lovely hard working family *** and the accommodation was clean and spacious. He deserves all the best in life as he is such a hard worker, genuinely caring about his guests experiences. Beds are very comfortable, hot shower facilities. Air-conditioning working well also private bathroom and toilet in every room. I would you say they have best facilities all over in this price range.
