Hafdals Hotel

Super great views from across the bay from Akureyri, very clean and comfortable, quite and peaceful. The room was warm, the shower was large with heated floors, great water pressure, plenty of hot water. Away from the city lights Watching the Northern lights from the private deck was extremely nice. Also, Thorarinn the owner was super friendly. We visited several times during our 2 day stay. Oh yes, killer good coffee and teas and a nice breakfast selection of fresh fruits, good breads, cereals, cheeses, various meats, juices and more. Myself as a owner of a nice high end boutique motel I highly recommend this place.

We chose this place as it was away from the main part of Akureyri, but only a few minutes drive away. With views across the water to the city, this place was perfect for us. The room was clean, comfortable and quiet. Breakfast was very adequate and we had parking almost outside our door. Would definitely recommend staying here.

Very clean and spacious room with all the needed amenities and a gorgeous view of the city across the water. Staff were friendly and unobtrusive, and the breakfast spread had some nice variety. Overall just had a very comfortable stay and will be back again next time I’m near the city!

Really well kept and feels new. Well located. Good Breakfast. The bed was great as was the linen. I didn’t like the pillows. Wish the room had a tea kettle.

This property was in a great location just across the bridge from Akuryi. The breakfast was adequate, and the staff was nice. Everything was clean and comfortable. We would stay here again.

Hafdals is like coming home... It is to us the very best option to stay in Akureyri for several reasons. 1 the owner and his impeccable service and the way he maintains this wonderful place 2 the closeness to the city and at the same time to have the peace and quietness to enjoy the scenery in a very selected and well equipped room and terrace. The view is breathtaking !!! 3 The quality of resting and enjoying yourself on a trip to us is priceless and this has been the perfect spot. 4 A selective Breakfast is served on the top floor. The impression of the view will stay in your mind long after you arrived back home 5 we need to come back to explore in depth the zone of Akureyri

We hit a jackpot with this one! There are not alot of rooms (maybe 8 total?) so make sure to book asap! It is a family-owned hotel, very cleaned and the buffet breakfast with beautiful scenic views makes your morning start perfect! It is located the opposite side of the town of Akureyri, passing through the bridge, but its not too far. Godafoss is not too far from here either. Hafdals Google translate to “Sea Valley” and that’s exactly what you get, a view of the sea and valley down below. There are two floors, and if you are on the first floor, you have a walk-out into the view. You can sip your coffee as you are watching cars pass by in the bridges. Gives you a very relaxing feeling. The room is clean and bed comfortable. There is an added bonus of refrigerator in the room. Free toiletries shampoo and conditioner available. Another added bonus is the free breakfast with fruits, cereals/yogurt, coffee or tea, scrambled eggs, bacon and pastries.

Great location, clean, quiet and a wonderful host. Recommended to anyone who’s in the area.
