This guesthouse is on the edge of the historic center of Al Hamra, in a restored old Omani house, and faces another hotel, in similar condition. Most of the rest of the historic center hasn't yet been restored, but it's hoped that in a short time it will follow the itinerary of this house. As a consequence of this adaptation, the rooms of the guesthouse are rather cramped, but still equipped with all the essentials, even in the bathroom. And above all, the style of the rooms is captivating: I point out, for example, the beams repainted in the original colours. Due to lack of common areas, the guesthouse doesn't serve breakfast. However, it is equipped with a roof terrace, with tables and chairs, which is well suited to meals; and there we actually ate dinner, ordered at a nearby eatery. Bill for one overnight stay, of an equivalent of 226 euros for ten people, therefore moderate. In conclusion, in our travels in Oman we have encountered more comfortable accommodations, but not more characteristic ones.
