Villa Marco Marrakech

OK, bear with me as this is quite a lengthy review but if you are going to Villa Marco or planning a trip then hopefully this will help. We initially booked this holiday in January 2024 and were impressed with the reviews. After reading the 2024 reviews we wondered what we had let ourselves in for!! So lets get the negatives out the way, this place is in the middle of nowhere so if you are looking for a "resort" style holiday this is not the place for you. It is 20 minutes or so from both the airport and Marrakesh so if you want to get out and about, we managed to get a taxi for 500 Dirham return. The previous comment that they got it for 80 Dirham (about £7), whilst I'm not doubting this, it does seem remarkably good value. I contacted three different firms and they were all quoting between 600-800 Dirham, so the 500 we paid seemed a fair price. The venue is a little scruffy around the edges but would qualify as a strong 3* or low 4* in my eyes. The menu is slightly limited and Italian(!?) but then they are catering for a small amount of people so having a vast menu wouldn't make financial sense to them as owners. The good stuff - treat your holiday here as you would a French Gite or a Spanish Villa, just with attentive staff who look after your every need. As others have stated we were also the only ones on site but actually we enjoyed the tranquility of not having loads of people around, bombing into the pool and trying to drink the bar dry by lunchtime. The grounds are stunning and the pool is bathed in sun all day long. The food is always freshly cooked and my wife who is vegetarian had no problems selecting two meals a day. The bungalows are well equipped and beautifully laid out. Marrakesh is a delight to visit and there is so much to do with local excursions you will never have chance to get bored. If you offset the extra cost to get to these excursions against the bargain basement prices inside the resort then the whole package is very appealing. The staff could not do enough for us and whilst not fluent in English, we had no issues with language. They were a delight to be around. We spent three nights here and did a quick visit to Marrakesh as we wanted to carry on the relaxation by the pool. I would personally say that anything up to five days here would be idyllic, after that the remoteness and lack of variety of facilities might start to cause irritation. We could have easily spent a couple more days here. So in conclusion if you are looking for a long weekend or even up to a week, this is a peaceful oasis which we really enjoyed. If that is your kind of holiday then I would thoroughly recommend this hotel. If it's not and you are looking for a busy nightlife and lots of choice for food and drink then i suggest you look elsewhere.

I was so disappointed when I arrived at Villa Marco with the beloved… First impressions, Villa Marco is run down, deserted, neglected and shabby. There were no other guests in the hotel! None! So, basically my beloved and I were wandering around in Villa Marco, with no one to interact and nothing to do. We spotted a pool table in the hope it would amuse for a bit and again the neglect had spread to this also, no tips on the cues and table in need of refurbishment. My annoyance grew so much I apologised profusely to the beloved and forced the poor divil to flee to Marrakesh for 2 nights of our stay! Positive note: The only positive was the 3 staff, that were present when we stayed. They were friendly and polite but struggled with communication. Breakfast was basic and tasteless.

Our breakfast experience was disappointing, with options limited to stale bread, a small serving of butter, and cheese. We were told that requesting boiled eggs would incur an additional charge. Overall, the quality of the food was poor. The villa also had minimal internet connectivity. Access to the property was challenging due to an unsafe, unpaved road. Transportation to Marrakech was expensive, costing approximately 30 euros for each trip. Communication with the staff was difficult as they did not speak English. There were no activities available during our stay. It's important to emphasise that this location does not meet the expectations of a 5-star rating. We were highly dissatisfied with Love Holidays for advertising this as a premium destination. This experience has made us question the credibility of Love Holidays' ratings, as this establishment does not even seem to meet 3-star standards. Our trust in Love Holidays for this booking was misplaced.

Got the number for this villa and tried to book for my mums 60th. They took my money and changed their number. I’ve been trying to call for over 2 weeks now. I am now Trying to get my money back from amex or PayPal. Avoid the stress.

We just discovered Villa Marco and i want to say that i've spent one of the most beautiful trip of my life with all of my beloved friends. Marco and his wife are very welcoming and they made our journey even more interesting as they were available and so kind to all of us. I recommend this place to everyone looking for a nice place to chill with good vibes and stunning nature.

Magnifiques! Ouvert depuis 8 ans et nous venons à peine de découvrir cet endroit génial. Un calme incroyable, de la verdure, de la nourriture + que satisfaisante (mention spéciale pour les lasagnes de Marco et son tiramisu ☺️). Et je tiens à dire aussi que le patron est très sympathique à l’écoute et très souriant. Merci

Magnifique séjour de 5 jours entre amis! Le lieu est fidèle aux photos. Marco et son équipe (Hamza et Simon!) ont été au top et aux petits soins pour nous. Nous avons très bien mangé. Les chambres sont spacieuses et confortables. Villa idéale pour les grands groupes. Je recommande vivement.

Je ne sais pas par quoi commencer tant le séjour que nous avons passé était parfait. Marco est un hôte qui rendra tous vos rêves possibles. Il est disponible et répond dans la seconde qui suit. Et bien évidemment il est adorable et très gentil. Nous avons fêté les 40 ans de mon mari et il a rendu tous nos souhaits réalisables. Le domaine est énorme et les chambres spacieuses ( 2 grandes piscines, salle de massage + hammam, terrain de pétanque, terrain de volley, coin tente berbère) . L’équipe de Marco, Simon et Hamza sont formidables et d’une gentillesse incroyable. Il a aussi tout un staff présent sur place qui rend le lieu agréable à vivre. La nourriture est magnifique . Je recommande vraiment cet endroit et ne lisez pas les commentaires négatifs cet endroit répondra largement à vos espérances.

Nous avons séjourné à la villa Marco pour l’anniversaire d’un ami. Nous étions 12 adultes et 13 enfants. Nous avons passé un délicieux séjour. Tout était fait pour que petits et grands passent de bons moments: piscine, jardin, pétanque, volley… Nous avons aussi pu compter sur la grande disponibilité de Marco et de sa super équipe aux petits soins. Un tout grand merci nous avons adoré notre séjour!
