Albufeira Sol Hotel & Spa

À primeira vista, melhor do que esperava, no entanto, com o decorrer da estadia encontramos pontos negativos: o tempo de espera na recepção é de loucos, parece um serviço público português. Não é admissível que com tantos hóspedes haja apenas uma pessoa a atender de cada vez... O jacuzzi do hotel, que está incluído no preço, tem a água gelada e so fumcionam 2 saídas de ar. Logo, é quase impossível la estar. Bonito mas sem utilidade... No SPA que é pago, há tb aspetos a melhorar por isso mesmo, porque ao ser pago e dentro de um 4 estrelas, não pode ter portas a arrastar pelo chão, por exemplo, como tem no wc das mulheres. Tb existem portas de segurança que não abrem nas barras o que é muito estranho e mais estranho ainda é não haver equipamento de segurança na cozinha como extintor ou manta uma vez que tem fogão. No entanto, a remodelação foi bem conseguida e espero que estes aspectos sejam rapidamente melhorados porque queria regressar ao hotel.

Booked via Love Holiday for 6 of us, we stayed in 2 self catering apartments for 4 nights. Overall an okay hotel, staff were nice and attentive, well located with Aldi only a 10min walk away and lots of amenities on site. I would say the apartments were fit for purpose but not overwhelmingly nice, just okay. Towels replaced daily and apartments cleaned. They do take a €100 deposit per room payable by card or cash. Also be aware spa is NOT INCLUDED and needs to be booked on the day for €7.50 which was a real shame as we thought this came with the hotel. Breakfast buffet was €10 and was okay, again not the best but did the job. The indoor pool was good and heated and we spent every day using this pool. Lots of space to sit and relax around the hotel which we utilised. Also note that the free shuttle service to the old town only runs in summer but they can order taxis for you instead which we did. I would say overall it does the job but if I were to visit Portugal again I would not book this hotel personally

Fab short stay (3.5 days) in all inclusive - let’s start with food and drink. Fantastic - so much choice in the buffet, massive fresh mixed salads, freshly cooked meats and Italian dishes to suit anyone. Always fresh and well cooked / served. Staff lovely and polite, clearing fast, large room with amazing air con and super clean. We’ve stayed everywhere from 5* to SC and highly recommend this for people who like clean, spacious, fun and varied without massive airs and graces. 10 mins to Albufeira old town in a cab and beach. Other useful info: - towels provided with a deposit returned at the end of the week. - wine is decidedly average - pay for or buy your own. - area around the hotel is ok but not amazing - get the cab and go further afield. Would definitely recommend!

This was our second visit to the hotel. We went in July 2023 and enjoyed it so much we booked again this year. The food is superb and there is a great variety. The hotel is extremely clean and the staff are helpful. The entertainment team is good. HOWEVER this visit was not enjoyable or relaxing since a large party of French people arrived and were so loud we could not have a conversation in the dining room or outside by the pool in the evening. Everyone was complaining. We mentioned this to the restaurant manager who said it was "too much to drink". This is an all inclusive hotel and they more than had their moneys worth. The management did nothing to ensure that other guests could enjoy their holiday. My partner asked them to quieten down and they were very rude and wanted to fight him. Our last breakfast was spent being intimidated by these French people. We were glad to leave for some peace. The management should have stepped in.

Just got back from this hotel, a week in the sun with family. Overall our experience was really very good. Clean, great team, nice food/drinks, easy to get around, complimentary shuttle bus in to old town, lovely pool area. Our only gripe & sadly for us its a big deal is that we were assured when contacting the hotel that they are 'Gluten Free ready'. Well they arent. Not even close. My 3 year old has Coeliac Disease & other than some stale bread, piece of cake (which he was only allowed at breakfast times) & 1 type of stale cereal...there was no other option for him. Yes there was your naturally GF items but no alternatives. Ive been to hotels prior to his diagnosis & noticed a whole array of GF & DF items, even a seperate toaster but here there was nothing out unless you asked for it & as i said options were poor. I did discuss it with the reception who passed me on to the lovely Cristianos in the restaurant but obviously nothing could be done because thats all they had. If i was a paying adult with Coeliac Disease & that was all i was given, id have made a complaint. So basically just a heads up for anyone with CD, please seek an alternative hotel. We absolutely loved staying here, i cant fault it other than this but sadly we wouldnt be able to go back purely based on this 😔

Firstly, check in was quick and easy. €17.50 for the safe for a week. No issue. They take a €100 card reserve for any damage caused to the room when they have cleaned. It doesn't actually leave your account, more of a reservation fee so if you don't cause damage, you will be fine. Restaurant is quite small for the size of the hotel. However there was never an issue with getting a table at either breakfast, lunch or dinner. Always plenty of selection at all times. Rooms are geared for self-catering (or at least ours was) with separate kitchen (including fridge), bedroom and lounge/diner. Lounge had pull out sofa bed which was fine for my 11 year old. Plenty of storage space for clothes and the like. Flooring numbers may confuse you. Reception is on floor 1 with the restaurant/bars and pool on floor 0. We had room 223 which was on the first floor from reception. Pool was good, never overcrowded and never had any issues with getting sun loungers. As per previous comments the 2 drinks per person can be quite annoying, especially when you are in a party of 3 or more. Had to always go to the bar with either my 11 yr old or wife to get us all drinks. There is a water machine which is free and you can use this, get 2 drinks from the bar and you will be fine. But if you want 3 soft drinks for instance, computer says no so either take the 2 away to your family/friends and then have to go back for the last one. Rooms cleaned daily and the overall complex is lovely and kept really clean. No issues with any of the staff whether that be maids, bar, restaurant, animation or reception. Location is ideal. Can walk to the New town ***** in no more than 10mins. Old town is around €4 to €6 in a taxi. One tip, download Uber, service is fantastic. Never waited more than 2 mins for an Uber when confirmed. Marina is around €7 to €8 in an Uber where there are lovely restaurants and bars. Old town can get a bit noisy and wild. Certainly was on the couple of nights we ventured there. All in all, Hotel is lovely, clean and in an ideal location. Staff all friendly and accommodating. I'd you want good value for money, this is absolutely ideal and I would say, go for it. Ubers from the airport to the hotel are around €40 to €45.

Honestly, we haven’t enjoyed anything in the hotel. Staff was rude, specially the lady in the reception. The food was the same for 10 days. Noisy travellers. Entertainment team is basic. Evening entertainment is very poor with trashy shows.

Some parts of the hotel fab such as the animation team who go out of their way to say good morning lovey group of people. The bar staff and the greeters in the dining room are also friendly, unfortunately that is where the friendly staff end. We were a group of 8 friends who had booked 2 suites and a room. They should have been allocated 3 adults per suite and 2 adults in the room. The receptionist got confused and a party of 3 ended up in the room and the 2 in a suite, as we haven’t been here previously and there was a double bed and a pull down sofa bed we assumed this was correct. After unpacking spending a couple of hours at the pool we went back to the room to get ready this was when the issues started. We realised we didn’t have 3 towels so I rang down and spoke to a lady who said she would get another one brought up. The first person got in the shower turned the shower on and the small portable head flew off the wall hitting them and cutting their finger. I rang down to reception to explain but the person I spoke to interrupted me before I could speak to tell me they were sorting out the towel! I explained the issue but he was more concerned that we were in the wrong room. Despite the confusion was from his staff allocating the rooms, he was very rude and abrupt and would not accept we didn’t choose the rooms simple went where we were allocated. His answer was to pack all our stuff up and move, we told him it was fine and since we were only here for 4 nights we would manage. (Who does want to pack and unpack a few hours after landing) he told us to go to the other room and retrieve the spare towel. That we were breaking the law by staying in the wrong room and it was our fault. Later on that night when we opened the pull down bed up we found the bottom sheet stained and grubby, realised we had no bedding or pillows for it. Rang down again to be told to go and retrieve missing items from other room, this wasn’t possible as they had stayed out later. Went to Reception to be greeted by the same guy who again informed me he was in charge of reception and it was our fault for not moving. He reluctantly got the missing items but not before accusing me of pointing in his face, bear in mind I am 5ft 1 and he was the other side of the counter and desk. If I could have done this I must have arms dragging on the floor! My friend tried to explain that we weren’t blaming him and we would stay where we were allocated just wanted the items that were missing. He came around the other side of the counter to give us the pillows and over reacted by backing off with his hand up making out she was going to do something, she was saying please don’t I just want to shake youfeelings I know it wasn’t your fault he acted like she had threatened him! Lovely hotel, spotlessly clean. Great rooms with bedroom, sitting area, kitchen and bathroom. Great selection of tasty food at mealtimes and good selection of all inclusive drinks. Nice pool area and sun beds always available. Daytime and evening entertainment available for those that want it. Staff courteous and helpful, girl on reception recommended a lovely restaurant at the marina were we could take our daughter for her birthday. Free shuttle bus to old town/beach was a brilliant addition too. I would certainly recommend this hotel and also return in the future.
