From the very beginning the owner welcomed us with such care. The place itself it’s located perfectly outside the rush of people but yet still so close to the city of Chania (8/10mins by car). The establishment is super nice and well kept surrounded by bamboo and olive trees. The rooms are near each other and most of them are overlooking the pool. Room itself was very very clean and towels,bedsheets,products were smelling really nice. You can see that the place is well maintained and taken very good care of! It’s also PET FRIENDLY with stray cats(which you’ll see either in the morning or at night without even bothering you) another reason why we booked this establishment as we brought our own dog which was well accepted without any additional costs or useless comments. Our holiday is still ongoing as we booked for 5 days but it’s a must to leave a positive comment to such a beautiful place and people. To who ever sees this post don’t think twice and just book it! Like the other reviews, the staff are what make to hotel a pleasant experience. Francesca, Tony, Natasha and Stella where amazing hosts for my stay. They were always warm and helpful through out my week with them. My favorite amenities was having a morning yoga session with Francesca on the rooftop with a sea view. Was a great way to start the day. I really hope the owner/management show appreciation to retain good staff that take pride in the job. A little can go a long way. I had a sea view room on the 1st floor which was cute. The room was clean and had Netflix Disney+ and YouTube on the TV which was really good if you want in room entertainment. Perhaps the bathroom's could do with a make over as whilst they are clean, they are quite dark and grey looking but fine in terms of functionality. I opted for the half board option and was a little bit apprehensive, as I usually am whenever I travel as I am vegan and worry about options. I did email the hotel 2 weeks before to let them know and I did see it was noted down on my paperwork when I checked in which was good. Dinner on the rooftop exceeded my expectations as there was options or alternatives I could have for my dinner so it didnt get boring having the same thing every day. However I do wish there was more option at breakfast as I ended up just having veg and potatoes which was not the most thrilling. The food at breakfast was not very hot also even when it came straight out the kitchen. It would have been nice to have the same level in variety as at dinner. For example, the fresh orange juice each morning was delightful but it would have been nice to also have fresh smoothies too. Also, having veggie sausages and pancakes at breakfast and vegan yogurt as these things do exist and should be more widely available. Hotel is widely accessible to the beach and shops which is literally stones throw away. Nice spot if you are a female solo traveler like myself who wants to have a restful vacation experience.

Solo traveler. April/may. 2/3 nights. 2nd floor. 1 pers room. 2 personal bed. A TV with a lot of broadcasts. The opportunity to put a cup of tea for yourself and write to the desk some cards to your family and friends or to go to a nice small but nice balcony and enjoy. Steady mattresses fine kitchens. Extra covers in the box if necessary. Spacious box to lose all your stuff. The safe and refrigerator are present. Long mirrors to be able to admire yourself before you go out of the door. Dark curtains. Nice bathroom, fine shower, shampoo and soap. Rooms are kept clean by the hard-working people of the cleaning. Breakfast is extensive and delicious. Personnel at the reception friendly and helpful. Kitchen staff and service also very friendly and helpful. The pool is present. But it wasn't filled since it was April. Fitness room present only not made time to use it. There's also the possibility to wash your clothes. Rethimno center/old town at walking distance. Many shops and food facilities in the surrounding area. I recommend a stay in this hotel.

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at this beautiful hotel. The beds were good and once we'd got to grips with the 'boutique' style room (not hugely spacious) we found a home for everything. The food was varied, beautifully presented and totally delicious! We were able to choose sun loungers in the shade or sun at any time of day. There are plenty of them and they are wide and comfortable. The staff here are superb; friendly, helpful and totally professional. The whole hotel is immaculate and extremely quiet - which is exactly what we wanted. We have no hesitation in recommending La Mer to other travellers who are looking for some peace and quiet, with comfort and excellent food.

We visited this well run hotel - 19th - 27th September - all the staff are very polite, friendly and helpful. Our room 406 was very well appointed and bed very comfortable. Airconditioned which we used when the nights were hot. Housekeeping did an excellent job. The hotel is in a good position, just moments walk to the Old Town, and a 12-15 minute to the nearest beach. Breakfast excellent choices of hot & cold food, with local selection of cakes, savoury and sweet Cretin pies. Local selection of bread and large selection of unusual jams and breakfast spreads. I would like to thank personally Nikos (Food & Beverage Manager)- for his friendship and ensuring that our breakfast meal was being enjoyed. He spoke to us personally each morning and he gave us some good information of places to visit outside Chania. Also I would like to thank - Emmanuella (Front of House- Reception)- again her friendship and she would also talk to us every time we passed the front desk. She again gave us very valuable information of places to visit, and organised taxi's and booked a day-trip by coach and boat. Emmanuella was again very polite, helpful yet professional, and helped make our holiday most memorable. A big thank you also to Necteria (breakfast server)- every morning she spoke to us, and remembered our breakfast order, she was so kind and helpful.
