Tivoli Alvor

Excelente estadia.

Just leaving this beautiful hotel, rooms very comfortable and spacious. We had ground floor room which had a lovely garden with sun loungers. Buffet restaurant had plenty of choice just wish food could have been a bit warmer. Italian and Grill restaurants both very good. 5 minute train ride to Alvor which picks you up at hotel runs every hour. Beautiful fishing village just visits were ruined by the rain. My son who is 11 was a bit bored think they could do more activities around the pool maybe they do in the summer months. Not sure! Overall lovely place

This is the second time we have visited the Tivoli Alvor. In June 23 and over the Easter break April 24. Check in went smoothly we arrived about 11ish and our room was not ready. We had some drinks then went for lunch at 12.30 by the time we did this room was ready. Golf buggy took us and cases to the room. We had a family deluxe room so kids had a separate room. Room is modern and comfortable. Everything you need. It was cleaned everyday water and toilet roll was replenished. We loved the food and the wine at buffet and restaurants. I did not have an issue with the heat of food if you do like your food really hot get something off the grill freshly cooked. Simples! My son loved the football pitch and was not off it. Pool area nice and towels provided. We easily got sunbeds but you get the selfish that put towels out all day and do not use. So limiting the choice for others. Pool was on colder side as it was April but as the weather improved kids stayed in longer. Staff do go round offering drinks although depends how busy the pool is you might not get offered as often. We did not go to the entertainment so cannot comment. I do notice they have listened to previous reviews and have made the kids disco earlier than when we visited in June. The beach is lovely and a short walk or you can walk along boardwalk to Alvor town. We used the hotels train a few times. Bar/restaurant service was a bit erratic but as the hotel got quieter at the end of week it improved. We had a great stay amazing food, beautiful hotel and nice staff. I do not understand the bad reviews and I am quite fussy. We will definitely return. Improvements - pool table, table tennis, bring back the self service juice machines in bar, remove the towels of people who have put down in the morning and have not returned for several hours.

Top class service throughout, nothing too much trouble . Super helpful staff from front of house and guest relations who printed out my lesson plan and materials so I could tutor my students remotely one afternoon - also great internet speed and quality. Great concierge team. A modern hotel with spacious rooms Great choice of restaurants delicious top quality freshly made food and with helpful knowledgeable staff. Chef made me sone creamed garlic spinach to avoid a cashew allergy ( I had not asked for this but it was offered and welcomed) Fabulous choice and range of top quality food at each of the restaurants. Display cooking at each meal Very clean hotel throughout the complex. Teams of friendly efficient staff to make sure our holiday was perfect in every way Spacious rooms cleaned on a daily basis to very high standards All additional requirements catered for (by a very helpful Mum and daughter in our case) Top quality pizzas and handmade pasta at the Italian restaurant that would rival those I have eaten in Naples and Florence. Excellent and knowledgeable sommelier service in all restaurants. Helpful team at the wellness centre . Compact gym limited floor space for mat work but very clean. Choice of pools we joined in with Aqua class in main pool but spent most of our time at the beautiful adult only pool where a team of waiters were happy to bring your choice of drinks with a smile Towel changes available at each pool across the site. The number and quality of staff was amazing With a high ratio of staff to guests. This meant whatever your need there was always a helpful staff member there to help. Great mixologists at the main bar near entertainments area suggesting And mixing custom made cocktails Able to sample wines before selecting. Such a good holiday we are bringing the whole family back in October

I arrived back from Tivoli Alvor last week after spending a week, via British Airways Holidays, with a young adult relative young man with autism. I must admit I had mixed feelings about the resort. The lay out and grounds were amazing. The villa rooms were quite elite . I was initially disappointed with the main Essence buffet restaurant, as I found the food luke warm to cold ! But after giving the dinner two chances seemed to like many others take up the offer of an alternative restaurant for dinner and found the Grill a superb advancement ! The Shore bar was quite a central spot for a drink and entertainment, however when busy waiting times were long also in my week , housekeeping forgot our room three times, but this was resolved once reported to reception. I would also like it to be considered for adults only weeks, My kids have grown , and I don't really like to be swamped by kids when I go for an evening wind down drink! The Tivoli is quite well located for amenities with a superb beach about twenty minutes stroll over the bridge, and Alvor town about ten minutes on the free train shuttle from the hotel twice an hour. I did speak to some management on the problems such as the food in the buffet, and they seemed to listen , and I must admit that my last dinner at The Essence the food seemed a lot hotter and fresher and I noticed a hot plate being used ! Outclassing all the negativities were the superb staff I met and there amazing attitude, from the moment we arrived we were met by concierge, golf buggy driver Gregory who was amazing with my autistic young man , he gave a professional brief to me on the resort and my room services. To the professional competent and attentive girls at reception the Annas' and guest relations girls The friendly and obliging housekeeping staff, to the helpful social hostesses especially Carla. At the restaurants, and some great bar staff. Carlos and Angel in the grill were great, as was guest relations manager Ana Cunha . The young vibrant animation team were a great energetic asset. The staff of this resort radiate the warmth of the sunny Algarve and , will make me return here again sometime !

Great family vacation was had at Tivoli Alvor. It has amazing facilities and so much to do. Also very convenient from dinning to relaxing pool side with drinks, daily activities/events for children as well as nightly activities for adults. Staff are excellent and attentive. The food was good from BBQ style lunch to buffet dinners and restaurants. Hit or miss at times with dinner and restaurants but the desserts were terrific 👍

Tivoli Alvor was absolutely stunning. Visited in April 2024, the weather was great! The Rooms facilities were good and very elegant. Room service was always consistent and all the Tivoli Staff where really friendly and helpful even when there was a language barrier! To name a few names that personally stood out for me. All rated 10/10. Karla, Miguel, Marcelo, Pedro, Julia, Raza. All very friendly and informative and always greeted with a big smile! Would definitely recommend Tivoli Alvor for anyone looking to stay in Algarve. Everything is located at a good distance aswell. Villamoura, Albuferia, Alvor, etc Tivoli Alvor Resot isn't a crazy club scene resort but a modest peaceful resort with a good nightlife and good food! Not to forget the drinks ;)

This hotel is beautiful but had a couple major let downs. Pros- overall look of the hotel is beautiful Adults only pool nice and peaceful Mostly friendly staff Supply beach towels fresh daily Nice bedroom but very firm bed Cons: The cleaners don’t clean your room they just make your bed and give clean towels every other day. We ran out of toilet paper but this wasn’t restocked so we had to get it ourselves. They do give you a bottle of water and Nespresso pods which was nice. Drinks ordered never came on multiple occasions. Something we found really disappointing was we payed to stay here 7 nights, we arrived Saturday at half 10 at night so we received no food or drink that day. The following Saturday which was our last day we checked out at 11 and was told we are not allowed any more food or drink and this would be an additional cost if we wish to have more. Our flight was not till 9 at night so we had all day where we were left to starve. Despite paying for those 7 days we could not consume on either Saturday which is poor value for money as we could only have food 6 of those days which isn’t what I paid for. I think it is extremely poor and cheap that the hotel doesn’t allow guests to eat or drink after check out. I have been to plenty of hotels all inclusive and never had this before so will not be returning for this reason. I cannot believe a 5 star hotel expects their guests to starve and be thirsty until they are picked up.

I'll start with the positive. The hotel grounds are beautiful. It has a lot of potential. The drinks have a good selection and the pool staff are always around providing drinks.. We booked the hotel for a babymoon a last min trip for 6 nights. We arrived on Monday was allowed to use the facilities from the moment we arrived including food and drinks. We got to our room after three and whilst it appeared lovely on initial view it wasn't. We had blood on the floor from where someone had cut their foot on a door stopper blood on the under bedsheets. Ants in our room and the sink hadn't been cleaned. We called down and it took someone 2 hours to come and sort this out.. The buffet food is the worst I have ever experienced. Is say this is an upgraded child's menu nothing fancier then that. Mostly cold and the cereal was stale. Thankfully you can book into the Italian resturant and steak House which is what we did for every evening that was slightly better just more options would have been preferable.. however this is more edible then the buffet. They have a snack back for lunch time in addition to the buffet. 3 times the ice cream self service was broken and the ice cream was slushy. The bbq area was however nice. Food again needed improvement but I have learnt this is not really their thing. The pool... don't I booked this hotel mainly as it said heated pool.....no no it's not. Its not heated at all. The manager said that there was a broken component.... Well that's been broken for the entire time we were here. It was such a shame.alas you could get in the pool which was cold but once your in your in..don't expect that to be clean either. We haven't seen one person clean the pool or attempt to clean it.. I could deal with little stones and leaves and the flying bugs. But the woodlice looking things were my limit. I wouldn't even contemplate staying here again its a straight up no. It has SOOOOOOO MUCH POTENTIAL but the staff are overwhelmed and there is an obvious reluctance to put money into this to get it to a 5 star standard they are looking for. I'd suggest this is a 3 star resort maximum
