We have just arrived back from the Alvor Baia Hotel and it was amazing, such a beautiful clean hotel. Rooms were a good size with a kitchen including fridge and microwave and 2 seperate sleeping areas both with tvs and a shower over a bath. There was always a good variety of food always a fish dish and some kind of meat, 2 of the nights was a BBQ and at lunchtime everyday they had kebabs. Lots of fruit and salads too. Kids loved the Ice Cream and cakes. The All Inclusive drinks were great too, Superbock was the beer on draft and there was plenty of wines, cocktails and mocktails. The animation team were great, there was always something happening throughout the day from darts to aqua dance and at night there was a variety of different shows, there was a Holywood show, disco fever night, a singer, a latin DJ and karaoke. There was a mini disco 6 out of the 7 nights starting at 8.30. We would definitely recommend this hotel and will hopefully be returning.

Lovely hotel great service very clean , lovely food x rooms were cleaned daily , pool area and bars great x three bars one of which was not all inclusive x in a great location 15 mins to town and a little further to harbour , lovely place , and great bace for a holiday in Alvor x little train picks up outside to harbour 5 euros if you don’t feel like walking x Really lovely place to be can’t fault this hotel x

This hotel requires some small improvements which is why o can’t give it a 5 star but overall we are having a great stay here. The only thing preventing the 5star review are those improvements which I’ve listed at the bottom of this review. We stayed on an all inclusive basis booked with TUI. We stayed / are staying last week of May 2024. First time in this hotel. Third time staying in Alvor. Seventh time in the Algarve! The great things about this hotel are the staff, the food quality , the pool & the cleanliness. I’ve seen other reviews where guests have been critical about the food and I wonder if they stayed in the same hotel! The food here is excellent for meat eaters and fish lovers alike with a wide choice and consistently high quality. Lovely accompaniments too from beautiful salads, pasta, rice, chips, herb potatoes. Delicious food. I also love the children’s buffet. Meant my 6 year old could see and choose his own food which he appreciated. Every single member of staff here are welcoming and friendly. All of them! It’s clear the hotel puts a premium on customer service. The pool is amazing and it’s a little cold (in May it will be) but once you’re in it’s fine and the my kids agreed! Also as the temp rose to 30 degrees when we were here getting into a cold pool was a blessed relief! The cleanliness throughout was spectacular and the best I’ve seen for several years. I particularly like the fact that the pool area including outside toilets were kept immaculate throughout the day. I’ve been to so many hotels where this aspect is neglected. It’s only 5 euro to get a taxi into Alvor centre which, having two kids we used instead of taking the 20 min walk but the bus transfer from hotel which runs hourly takes you to Alvor beach which from there is a 5 minute stroll into the main town. We appreciated the bus transfer again another positive to this hotel. We also enjoyed the evening entertainment though we didn’t watch all of it as we’d sometimes go out of an evening but what we saw was very good quality. I really want to give this place 5 stars and based on all of the above the hotel should get a 5 star review but the only thing stopping me are the improvements needed. Things that could’ve been better: The all inclusive drinks were very poor quality. Some of the worst I’ve experienced. In particular the cocktails were disgusting. Horrible pre mixed pre bought vile drinks. I ordered a pina colada first day - it was orange in colour!!! Orange!!! Have you ever seen an orange pina colada?? Yuk! The tonic water is flat. It’s like drinking gin & water. I’ve been to other 4* all inclusive hotels that serve better drinks than here. The kitchen area in the room has no kettle. I made a coffee in my room by boiling water in a pan (ok no big deal) but the pan handle gets ridiculously hot and there’s nothing to help you pick up the pan (oven mitt / tea towel) available. It’s dangerous. Extremely disappointing that the hotel charged

Really enjoy our stay at Alvor Baia. we've stayed in many hotels around Alvor and always wanted to try here , we weren't disappointed , hotel is clean and staff are friendly, we stayed in one of the 2 bedroom suites overlooking the pool and I really liked that, it might not be for everyone as you can hear the night time entertainment quite loudly from your room but for me this was kind of a bonus. if I had a tiny complaint about the room its that there was no tv in the living area just one in each bedroom , not a big deal but we put our kids to bed early in each of the rooms so it meant we couldn't watch tv, again not a big deal! we didn't choose all inclusive as we love the restaurants down the town. the breakfast was very good, there were two different areas one for families with kids and one for couples or singles , I felt this was good as we have two young boys who are wild! but it really was good as we didn't feel we were annoying everyone as everyone was in the same boat, although we didn't go all inclusive we paid to use the all inclusive one day for lunch and it was pretty nice €24 pp kids go free the only real draw back from not going all inclusive was that we had to pay for drinks at the pool bar , obviously we know that but although we asked if this was a problem and were told no the staff at the bar never had a visa Machiene to hand and never really had the correct change in the till, I do understand its predominantly for all include guests but I felt they could be better set up for people who weren't AI nevertheless it wasn't a major issue we always got served and the staff were very nice about it we also had lunch twice at the main cafe bar near reception and had room service from there also and I have to say the prices were good and the food and service was excellent the pool area is perfectly clean and the pool itself is class and absolutely huge, no problem getting beds at pool (travelled in may) and we had a small kids pool aswell which has slides etc and is right beside the playground , they playground is also very good and kept our 5 and 3 year old boys occupied for long periods we didn't use the gym or sauna etc so can't comment the hotel is a 10 minute walk to the town realistically its 15 minutes to bar street where most of the bars and restaurants are so this is a good location, its a downhill walk all the way in so you may want to look at a taxi home! all in all I would 100% come back to this hotel and were looking at booking it again for this year

Not sure where to start. Those in second minds whether to book or not - just book. Been to many places in the world but this is up there as one of the most special. From the food to the rooms to the animation teams to the humongous pool. This resort is just excellent. So many friendly people that we have met during our time here. The staff are so attentive and remember your names etc - activities for both adults and children and plenty of them. Would 100% return and already looking at doing so for next year. Me and my family stayed at this hotel for 2 weeks in May. The rooms were very modern and clean. The Wi-fi worked well in our room but wasn't as great in other rooms in the hotel. We really enjoyed the food as found there was always a variety of food. They had two restaurants; blue and green as the blue restaurant was for guests over 12 years old only. Great location as only a small walk away to the town of Alvor and the hotel ran a complimentary bus to the beach. Although we did find the animation team and entertainment in the evening to be disappointing. We thought the animation team could be more interactive and found the entertainment on the evening to be low budget and very slow. We often found ourselves bored of the entertainment so left half way through. We thought there was way too long between the mini disco at 8:30 for the entertainment to start at 9:30. Furthermore the schedule for the entertainment on the evening was only on a 1 week rotation meaning if you stayed longer then 7 days you would see the same shows the following week. The pool was a good size and there was always sunbeds spare. Found most of the staff to be polite however found one particular bar man "Antonio" to be extremely rude therefore leading me and family to try and avoid being served by him as found he had the same rude manner everytime he served us. Overall would recommend this hotel but the animation team and entertainment needs to be improved.

From the moment we arrived we felt welcome, Fantastic hotel with the friendliest of staff. Everyone went above and beyond to make your stay comfortable. We had a 2bedroom pool view apartment. Wasn't too noisy being just above the pool bar. Rooms where very clean and adequate to our needs. All Inclusive food was really good and a wide range of choice so suited us down to the ground. Walking distance to the centre of town. Uber cost 3Euros when the kids where too tired to walk up the hill. Daily shuttle bus to the beach approx. leaving every hour. Entertainment team went above and beyond they where fantastic in our opinion with daily activities and night time. The pool is absolutely freezing initially but you soon get used to it haha! Little ones this did not phase them they would spend all day in the pool if they could. Would recommend staying here and we will be back!

Beautiful hotel, lovely staff, great food, will stay here again in future Tui rep Paulo was helpful and we did the Zoomarine, 4x4 jeep tour and Western Algarve tour from hotel which were all great trips! Portimao beach was nearby and was lovely for an afternoon out Beautiful place and will visit again in future!
