The hotel is in a good location right beside V&A. Rooms are OK. One of the nicest things about staying in a hotel is that you come back after a long day sightseeing and the room has been cleaned, tidied and the bed made. Not much to ask for the prices charged. We were informed that we had to let reception know if we needed room serviced, every day of our stay. (Opt in policy as opposed to opt out.) I telephoned reception and requested this and the receptionist informed me that I may be too late. It was 12 noon. I told her that the housekeeping staff were on our floor. She said she would try. We returned that evening to an unmade bed, unemptied bins, unreplenished coffee station. So disappointing. Why do hotels do this? They are competing with Air B&Bs. The worst thing about Air B&Bs is that you have to do all the tidying yourself. Why don't hotels exploit this? I understand about not replacing towels but not tidying the room - awful. We also had an incident with a faulty iron that I will not go into, suffice to say I think it was handled badly by duty manager.
