Amsterdam is a lovely city, but I won't be staying at de Jonker again unfortunately. The check-in process was insane. We arrived at 8:00am after 24 hours of travelling and were greeted by probably the rudest hotel staff member I've come across. He told us in no uncertain terms to leave and not come back until 3:00pm and refused to hold our luggage for us, leaving us carrying our suitcases around Amsterdam for almost seven hours which was a major pain. We later found out that they have a partner hotel for storing luggage, but the receptionist didn't let us know about that. We were told we would be sent a QR code by 3:00pm which would be used as the key to the front door of the hotel and the room. It didn't come so we were left cold on the street waiting to be let into the hotel. A friendlier receptionist eventually let us in manually. Our QR code was not sent to us until almost 7:00pm. So, we had no way to enter the hotel or our room until then. It was a very disappointing experience. Otherwise, the location is pretty good. There's a tram stop virtually at the hotel and takes only 10 or so minutes to get to Dam Square. The rooms were nice and modern. Our room was next to the front door and, due to the paper-thin walls, we heard people coming and going all night.
