Palissandre Antananarivo

We stayed here for one night in the beginning of october and we enjoyed it. Staff is really friendly and helpful. The restaurant is great and serves excellent food. From the terrace of the restaurant you have a magnificent view over a part of the city. We also did a one hour massage and this was great we can highly recommend this. The room we had was a little bit small especially next to the bed and the bathroom is basic. The shower is in a bath (not a separate shower). The basic and little bit small room is the only reason why this place doesn't get 5 stars form us. But from the balcony of our room we had the same magnificent view as from the restaurant. The hotel has also a small pool but we didn't use this.

the staff is well trained and friendly but nothing can be done when asking the waiters for a different desert for example. there is NO going the extra mile at all. the beers are served warm! feels that there is a management/staff problem here. not sure i would want to return here.

Pallisandre Hotel was at the end of our trip and we had seen a bit of Madagascar before that. So in comparison to our stays elsewhere we found Pallisandre hotel staff very friendly, talkative, helpful and polite. The hotel has a heritage character with wooden stairs, floors etc. Pool wasnt well heated but otherwise Massage, steam etc. was super. The restaurant breakfast and meals after our feedback was much improved. The best part about the hotel is that they were flexible and responsive to our suggestions. We were tired of the typical European style breakfast served every single day of the trip and last day we got better breakfast and super Lunch before departure. So thumbs up for that.

We stayed here for 3 nights as part of a longer trip in Madagascar. I’m a regular visitor to Tana and have stayed in several different hotels in the city over the years, but this was my first visit to the Pallisandre. The hotel itself is very nice - pristinely clean, rooms are lovely and well appointed. Comfortable beds and our rooms had balconies with fantastic views over the city. Staff were friendly and courteous, anticipating our needs and doing all they could to help - going out of their way to find us a driver when ours failed to turn up, for example. The pool is nice, although not truly ‘heated’, as the water is rather tepid. We still enjoyed a refreshing swim! The Hammam is very nice, but you have to book it, and the gym looked good. What let the experience down for us was the restaurant. The terrace is beautiful with a lovely view, and breakfast was actually pretty decent (although eggs weren’t included, which was a shame given the price you pay to stay at this hotel). For lunch and dinner however, the menu is bizarre. Trying to be French, but not really managing it. We had dinner one night and none of us were wholly satisfied with our meal. Vegetarians are especially poorly catered for. And if you just want a snack menu at lunchtime, it’s quite limited and the quality isn’t great - we ordered a burger that had clearly come out of the freezer. The staff were also quite inflexible - for example, telling us we couldn’t have the snack menu when we were the only customers in the restaurant, then saying we could! They were also a bit OTT about getting you to sign for everything - to the point where you felt like they suspected you of wanting to run away without paying! Given Faravohitra doesn’t have tons of good restaurants in the area, the lack of a decent restaurant at this hotel is a bit problematic. Would recommend this is addressed, as the rest of our experience in the hotel was very good! So would recommend staying here if you’re happy to eat elsewhere in the evening, which we did.

We stayed here very shortly before heading elsewhere in Madagascar, so cannot assess the location. Welcoming and nice staff, clean room, TV, A/C, WiFi. A balcony with a view over Antananarivo. Hot water and toiletries in the bathroom. An okay buffet breakfast.

Hôtel atypique offrant non seulement de belles vues sur la ville mais aussi plein de charmes avec le bois précieux portant son nom. Il offre de très belles chambres, propres et spacieuses. Les massages sont excellents et le spa est très bien. Excellente restauration de qualités avec une belle carte aussi avec une belle terrasse qui enchante les repas. Je vais regretter le Wifi de très mauvaise qualité lors de mon passage alors que j'avais travail et ce besoin. Je regrette aussi le bruit le matin car je me suis retrouvé en face des bureaux du management de l'hôtel qui travaille la porte ouverte et pour lequel j'ai eu entendu toutes les conversations professionnelles. Cela reste un très bon hôtel et je n'hésiterais pas à y revenir
