Paradise Lodge Arbaminch

During my recent stay at Paradise Lodge Arba Minch, I was once again struck by the lodge's stunning location and beautiful views. However, me and my daughter were disappointed when we were initially assigned to the Zebra room instead of the Tukul Twin Lake view room that we had previously enjoyed. Despite my request to change rooms and my willingness to pay the difference, the female receptionist insisted that the lodge was fully booked. Upon finding the room available online and showing it to her, she still refused to accommodate our request. After a lengthy argument with her, Mr. Mekanit and Mr. Kabboo intervened and, to my relief, arranged for us to be moved to the Tukul twin room, as per our preference. When Mr. Mekanit escorted us to our newly assigned room, he apologized us for the for the inconvenience and assured us that they would strive to prevent such issues in the future. I believe that the lodge should be more flexible and accommodating in such situations. Despite this hiccup, I would still recommend Paradise Lodge Arba Minch for its cultural setting. Also, I would recommend staying in the Tukul Rooms (Traditional Houses or huts) for a more authentic experience.

Paradise lodge is very exellent place to enjoy my vacayion. The reception is very welcoming. They resond your compliant immediately. We have celebrated our anniversaary with my spouse with high please and amazing prakaratoon and support from the lodhe manager. Some points to improve in the roots is the soket out lets besides the beds and the bed lights were mot functoonal.

The worst resort that I have ever been. There were bugs allover the room and mosquitoes. The bathroom drainage wasn't working and when we called the front desk to fix the problem they sent us someone to fix it. They fix the problem, but they messed up the bathroom with dirt and they didn't even bother to clean it, we have to call the front desk again.They advertise that they have free WiFi , which never worked for a single day that we stayed. They also charged us for extra bed, which they never gave us. The only good thing I have seen in there was all employees were very nice and polite.

We returned to Ethiopia with our adopted daughter, 17, and met her birth parents and extended families in small villages in the SNNPR. Afterward, we spend five days four nights visiting the Omo River tribes. Our outstanding guide, Ephrem Girmachew is an Arba Minch native, and he booked us in Paradise Lodge for one night. Honestly, It was one of the highlights of the trip. We all found the place to be absolutely magical. The food and view from the restaurant was incredible and we only wish we could have stayed there for several nights. The staff was kind and attentive and we really can't wait to return! Location is excellent - waitress and staff are great. Sauna not working- breakfast is not good- key egg was not not available and coffee machine is broken- really for the name it built it should have been the best in town. For the $$ they charge you expect better - will not come here again and will overwhemingly not recommended it.

Please don’t book trip here. The mosquitoes and service sucks. Not sure how this place still ranks high. The management team are horrible. The music at night keeps you awake if you’re morning person with early plans. Don’t rely on management to fix anything. The tv and WiFi don’t work. Fridge is out of service. If you have emergency, have to use your phone to call. This resort should be named hell motel. DO NOT BOOK unless staying for a night

The rooms are okay but the tv channels are all in amharic 😐. The other thing we were disappointed with was the breakfast. The entire displayed breakfast was Ethiopian meals. If this is an international tourist hotel I think they should atleast display a bit of English breakfast if the rooms come with breakfast. My kids had a difficult time with the breakfast as they couldn't stand the Ethiopian dishes. Even the simple eggs were never displayed during our stay,they had to make do with oat porridge. Haile resort is just next gate,so we went there to check and we were stunned coz it seemed like paradise, unfortunately they were fully booked 😕.

It is a nicest place to relax at weekends. Amazing view from the restaurant room to the outside. Rooms are elegant with amazing greenery gardens. Very ventilated and big trees in the compound with good view to rest especially at day time.

I DO NOT recommend that anyone that is new to Ethiopia or Arba Minch stay at Paradise Lodge because this Lodge almost put my family and me in a very dangerous situation with little to no remorse. Basically, my mother, my sister, and I were really excited about visiting Arba Minch because of the beautiful mountains and southern culture. So, I made sure to book my stay with Paradise Lodge at least 3 weeks ahead of time. Even though I am Ethiopian, I have been out of the country for over 10 years, so when making arrangements, I had to ensure I would be in a safe place with an entity I trusted. I booked my stay for 6/27/22. Then. LESS THAN 24 hours before my check-in time, I received an email with “no subject” telling me my reservation was canceled. When I received my email, I was not able to check it because I did not have wifi since it is not readily available in Ethiopia. So it wasn’t until our plane landed that I found the email (I included below). The email not only seemed like a scam, but it was also not worded correctly or professionally. So then, when I eventually called them and asked for an explanation, they said that government personnel was at their lodge. When I told them that I am traveling with two other women and we just landed in a city that we are not familiar with and that they are putting me in a dangerous situation, they did not apologize or care to accommodate me at ALL. This was the most frustrating and scary experience of my trip. If it wasn’t for Haile Resort’s supreme customer service and accommodation, I do not know what I would have done that day. So, I recommend that you book your stay somewhere else if you want a reliable service and a decent customer service experience.
