We paid for queen beds and these were not queen beds. The electricity would crackle when you turned the lights off or on. The hotel lists that it has a bar and has pictures of it but there is not a bar. Would not stay here again. The staff also recommended places to eat and they were all closed that day. Clearly they have no interest in the comfort of their guests or their needs.

Needs a few upgrades like USB ports in rooms.
The AC was a bit finicky. Clean bathrooms, with nice toiletries. The breakfast was decent. Over a nice Hotel, would stay here again.

Truly exceptional especially for a small town and a genuine change from chain motels, Custom built and managed by a local oil drilling company using art deco styling. We thought it was brand new but in fact its 15 years old. Large room and good breakfast in spacious lobby/lounge.

It was ok. Was clean and overall comfortable. I noticed a poor placement of the fridge and microwave, directly below the thermostat in the room. The heat generated from the fridge was giving a very high temp reqding on the thermostat. Climate control overnight was challenging.

The room was quite spacious and clean. The location is in downtown and within walking distance of the heritage way.

Artesia is a wonderful, walkable city with a number of great sculptures, starting with the one just outside of the Hotel Artesia. But don’t miss the one near the library!

This is not your typical chain box hotel. The rooms are large. The sculpture in front is beautiful

We really enjoyed our stay at the Hotel Artesia. This is a unique property located right in the downtown shopping/dining area. The rooms are clean and modern with comfortable beds. Staff was extremely helpful, friendly and quick to respond. We had intended to stay in Carlsbad and didn't realize until later that we we booked a hotel in Artesia. I must say, we were very impressed with the town and the many dining options right down the block. The Wellhead BrewPub was quite good for both local brews and a solid meal. We didn't try the pizza place adjacent to the hotel but it was packed with customers. I would definitely stay at the Hotel Artesia again.
