Cairngorm Hotel

My friend and I visited Cairngorm restaurant Wednesday 24th April. Had Strictly Seniors Menu. Excellent value, staff were friendly and efficient. Great ambience with lots of families enjoying their meal. Also quite a few people waiting for tables, I think that speaks for itself. Don't miss this Restaurant when visiting Aviemore. Highly recommended. Thank you everyone for a happy ending to our walking holiday.

This was a great place to stay in the heart of Aviemore which allowed easy access to all the shops and attractions by walking. Its beautifully decorated in Scottish style with a nice Pub and Restaurant on site. The room we had was small but functioned perfectly for our needs. We ate at the restaurant twice including the free breakfast which was very good with lots of choices and great service! Would not hesitate to stay here again as it felt like traditional Scotland!

Stayed in this hotel few times over the years and it’s still as good now as it has always been we tried to book 2 nights but hotel was busy so booked another hotel for 2 nights big mistake checked out after one night but was lucky to get booked in to the Cairngorm for one night what a difference beds fantastic all staff very welcoming and helpful so a big thank you to each and everyone off you dinner in restaurant and breakfast next day was lovely all served with a smile

The hotel states that this is a dog friendly hotel however dogs are only allowed in the hotel lobby or your own room. The dog is not even allowed in the bar which in my opinion does not make it dog friendly. The food was lovely but I will not go back as the dog must be left in the room if you want a drink.

Disappointed with lack of gluten free options at breakfast despite paying the same as everyone else. Smoked haddock and an egg gets a bit boring however was the only option* and I left breakfast hungry each morning. It was disheartening to see how many choices everyone else had, they had value for money. On the last morning I asked for bacon and eggs instead, unfortunately it must have been contaminated as within 20 minutes I had to return to the room due to coming down very unwell. I asked for a gluten free menu and there wasn't one, I was told that the options were on the main breakfast menu. The option was the smoked haddock and egg.. there was fruit and yoghurt however when everyone else is given a banquet of options and we've all paid the same it is a kick in the teeth. That said, the bed was very comfortable and staff pleasant. I would not stay here again, due to awful value for money.

Visited the restaurant 3 nights of our stay at Aviemore. Do not eat anywhere else - this place is fantastic. The food is the best, service is so fast and the restaurant staff are second to none. I can’t recommend this place enough. It’s the best place by far for food and drinks.

The Cairngorms hotel is lovely it is just across from the railway station on the Main Street, it has a good sized car park. The staff are very friendly and nothing is too much trouble, the room was very clean, also the food was delicious and large portions, breakfast was also delicious with plenty to choose from and as much tea and coffee as you wanted. The hotel run quiz nights and live music.

We have not been to Aviemore for 28 years but I always remember this hotel as being iconic and standing out opposite the train station . So booked it for 2 nights direct with the hotel. What a charming olde world hotel. With lots of quirky Scottish decoration. Everybody we encountered was helpful and polite. Room tastefully decorated. Tea & coffee making in room . Breakfast defeated us both .

A lovely, traditional hotel with friendly staff. Rooms are basic but clean. Food and service in the restaurant were excellent. Wi-Fi is very slow and intermittent which is a big downside. There is live music in the bar every evening, which many people like, though rooms above the bar will have to either enjoy or endure the noise.
