A gem in a beautiful valley! We stayed in a suite which was very comfortable with a large living area, and beautiful bathroom with a shower overlooking the valley. The food was interesting and fresh. They even accommodated me being a vegetarian. All the food was homemade - even the various preserves which accompanied breakfast. The staff were all friendly and if you don’t speak French - no problem - they speak English. The host - Said was incredibly helpful with suggestions of what to do in the area and what to avoid. We like to be off the path well travelled so Touda was perfect. We took a beautiful hike after breakfast which climbed up to a far reaching view of the whole valley. Be sure to check out their shop where they sell local goods and all the delicious preserves. If we could give this place and Said 6 stars we would!

Such a beautiful view from the ecolodge!! It was hiding in a remote village but the facilities, the shower, the decor is amazing. You can stay there for a few days so that you can rejuvenate yourself because of the view and was surrounded by Atlas Mountains.

If I could give Touda 10 stars I would. It's a magical place in ethos, location and place. We stayed for 4 nights, which was perfect to discover the beautiful valley and landscape around the lodge. It's a very long way from anywhere, so do go for more than two nights if you can. We were absolutely perfectly looked after by the bundle of energy that is Ahmed, gardener, guide, host and all round fabulous person, and the wonderful Nejma, whose food was out of this world, most ingredients having travelled a matter of metres to the kitchen. We couldn't fault this place AT ALL (I have Princess and the Pea tendencies so found the bed a bit hard but that's just me!). We loved the entrepreneurial cooperative initiatives started by the lodge in collaboration with the local community, a true 'does what it says on the tin' place. Go there, you will be enriched by it. Whilst you're there visit a women's cooperative in the valley to buy rugs certified by The Anou, giving a true fair price for their work and cutting out the middleman. Campus Vivante Cafe just past the Tabant turning is also a great initiative with amazing food.

Had such a great stay at Touda I really wish it could have been longer. Said and the team were incredibly welcoming. It felt like I was coming into their home. The room was beautiful especially at sunrise. Hot water, comfy bed and great WiFi. Dinner was a treat. After travelling a few weeks alone it was really nice to sit and chat with other travellers at the communal dinner table eating amazingly home cooked food.

After spending time in the big cities of Fes and Marrakech, you owe it to yourself to discover the rural charms of the Ait Bougmez valley, nestled among the High Atlas mountains in the heart of Amazigh (aka Berber) country. Do yourself a favour and stay at the Touda Ecolodge. The drive to/from Marrakech is an experience in itself, not to be tackled in the dark! Perched above a classic Amazigh village, with apple orchards in the valley below (we had fresh squeezed apple juice every morning) , and mountain vistas beyond, it is an ideal location to learn about Amazigh culture and lifestyle, learn a few Amazigh words, hike to seasonally dry Lac d'Izourar, or simply relax in the outdoor hot tub while enjoying the beautiful views across the valley. You can also explore further afield to sites near the town of Tabant, in particular, the traditional communal Sidi Moussa granary perched above the valley, or the preserved dinosaur tracks of the M'Goun UNESCO Geopark. At the lodge, the everpresent Ahmad provides access to a wealth of local knowledge to help plan your day. Don't forget to ask for a picnic lunch if you will be out for the day.

Along with 8 family members, I stayed at this absolute gem in the High Atlas. The breathtaking views are matched by the warmth of the welcome. The rooms were clean and comfortable. The suite we had on our return from trekking was way beyond expectations: the bathroom facilities were everything you would expect in a boutique hotel, the style of the room was simple and well considered. Food and drinks- delicious, more than you could eat, and the kitchen catered for a range of needs including gluten free. The swimming pool: perfect after a hot day's walking. The hotel holds on to the traditional culture whilst understanding an international clientele. Well done to Said and his team.

Touda is in that special class of places you stay at that truly heighten your grand adventure to far flung locales. A place you’ll always remember for its incredible vantage, hospitality and integration with the local community. Said, Ahmed, Nezme, and the whole team at Touda are so kind, knowledgeable and enabling of a joyful adventure. Thank you so much!

Fantastic experience in the High Atlas. We loved our stay and that amazing view. The family was incredibly hospitable and we enjoyed walking and exploring the valley and mountains. We actually had blizzard like conditions one day while there and everyone was great with it. We look forward to going back.
