Tarangire Sopa Lodge

We had a wonderful stay here in February 2025. Rooms were excellent and had lovely mosquitoe netting around the bed. The pool was a treat and the main building was very impressive with awesome views from the balcony. Staff were amazing and did their utmost to make sure we enjoyed our stay. We follow a vegan/ plant based diet and the chef was very accommodating. Breakfast buffet was also superb. Happy to recommend this place without any reservations.

We were able to have a 2 night stay during our safari at this beautiful lodge. We were met with towels and juice prior to registration, very nice after our long vehicle ride. The rooms were very nice with plenty of space, good bathroom amenities and hot water. Due to the holidays, there were cocktail parties each night with traditional music and dancing with tasty appetizers and drinks. Our breakfasts were good, we had a wonderful buffet lunch by the pool and dinner buffets had a good variety of dishes for those that like meat and those that do not. We utilized the pool, which was great to cool off after safari (the pool is quite cold) and they had an employee there cleaning the top of the pool both times. As we were there during the Christmas holiday, Santa met us with candy on Christmas morning and both dinners we had gifts at our dining room table. We were also given a complimentary holiday gift. The animals around the lodge were a hit with everyone. The Hyrax, DikDiks, lizards, banded mongoose, monkeys and others were fun to see throughout our stay. We were traveling as a family and it was nice that our rooms were adjacent, not adjoining.

Amazing staff and excellent service. They upgraded us to the suite when there were some insects and bugs in the rooms. The staff went out of their way to make our stay as pleasant as possible. The large dining room was a pleasure. We were located very centrally in Tarangire for all wildlife sightings including a Leopard and some satiated lions.

This was a lovely lodge, staff were friendly and helpful. Room was up stairs and the staff carried our bags. The bed was comfortable and the mosquito nets and beds turned down while we were at dinner. Shower was clean and the water was hot. We did not use the balcony due to mosquito's. Bar staff were attentive and the beer was cold. Food was buffet and OK for a buffet. Grounds were lovely.

Oh my goodness this lodge is absolutely stunning. The staff all amazing and bend over backwards to help you any way they can. We were lucky enough to have the staff sing to us one evening. It actually made my friend and I cry, it was so beautiful. I am an above knee amputee and use a wheelchair in the evening and overnight. They provided ramps up to the bar and dining room A special shout out to Anna in the bar. She took such good care of me the one afternoon I didn’t go on a safari drive . Motley, was amazing getting me to my room each night, down the steep hill, backwards, and smiling all the time.
