I just received a call from my wife (who just flew into Bangkok from Manila), as she was about to check in at 11:30 am. Was told that there would be a 6,000B charge for check-in before 2 pm. We confirmed that the room was already ready, and they still wanted to charge 6000B to check in only 2.5 hours early. It would be different if the room was not ready, and there needed a "rush" cleaning to accommodate an "early" check-in, but no .. the room was ready and was just sitting there, waiting for 2 pm to come about. In addition to that senseless money-grab, there was the experience/attitude that K.Fah (receptionist) provided at check-in, which was not what I would expect from such an exclusive residence. Clearly, this is not what we were expecting from a 5star residence charging $500+ per night. Frankly, this is a first for me in Thailand. Just to summarize. The room was available, and there were only 2.5 hours before 2 pm check-in, yet wanted to charge 6000b for "early" check-in, and the staff would prefer it that my family wait around 2.5 hours - so as to prove a point? We have stayed here before and never received this type of attitude and treatment. I get it - everyone is hurting after the pandemic, yet why such scentless money grab at the expense of customer experience and with loyal customers? Crazy greed.
