Copper Canyon Riverside Lodge

Very unique hotel. Staff were wonderful and very accommodating. A very special 2 days at the bottom of the canyon!

We spent two nights at the Riverside Lodge. This was my second time at Batopilas. The first I stayed at Casa de Minas which I enjoyed very much. I decided on this second trip to try out the more expensive Riverside Lodge and am so glad we did. The property is just amazing! You feel as if you have stepped back in time: the furnishings, the gardens, the attention to detail. Martin could not have been more welcoming. Friendly and professional. If you're traveling on motorcycles as we were, he will provide you with a secure place to park them. Umberto will prepare a wonderful breakfast, served on crisp linen. Sonia, who is the English speaking liaison for booking and general questions went above and beyond with her language help for our onward bookings in Basaseachi and Saharupia. Ignore the fear mongering about Mexico and Batopilas in particular. The scenery on the ride from Creel and especially the road down into the canyon is spectacular. Batopilas is a magical and unique place to begin with, and the Riverside Lodge will make your stay that much more memorable. We cannot wait to return.

Nuestra experiencia en este viaje a Batopilas no hubiera sido igual si hubieramos seleccionado otro Hotel!, el Cooper Canyon Riverside Lodge tiene un encanto unico, es un hotel boutique restaurado y cuando te hospedas en el, sientes que estas como un invitado de la familia Bigles, que segun se dice, eran los propietarios de la casa en los 1800. Las paredes con murales, los muebles de epoca, las fotografias familiares, las tinas de porcelana, las sabanas bordadas, entre otros mucho detalles perfectamente cuidados, te llevan por un viaje en el tiempo y hacen de la estancia una experiencia unica. Ni hablar de la excelente atención de Humberto desde nuestra llegada, que hizo de nuestro paseo algo excepcional, pues personalmente nos llevo a conocer Batopilas y nos contó sobre su historia y sobre su gente. Gustavo fue super ameno e hizo nuestros desayunos en el comedor de la casa, sumamente divertidos con sus anécdotas y chistes. No cabe duda que volveremos a hospedarnos en este espectacular lugar!!
