This is the most damning report I have ever put on TripAdvisor and here's why: 1 The hotel. Beautiful grounds, modern exterior and atrium but slowly being swallowed up by high rise buildings. see pictures. Major thunderstorms during our stay - pool area and steps out to adult pool and beach not mopped which made them lethal. Water running into the hotel probably due to a blocked drain. Hotel seems to attract large groups of men on the weekends, or were they just friends invited by one of the managers? Females in pool made to feel uncomfortable. There are a lot of coach parties at this hotel. 2 The facilities Room - dated and in need of modernising. We had a balcony room with a sea view as advertised but the road noise made sitting out there a poor experience Bar - hotel boasts three/four bars. Lobby bar open, pool bar - shut, beach bar - shut. Taverna bar next to small pool - shut. Indoor common areas/Atrium - great but who uses? Pool – Nice indoor/outdoor pool with an infinity view of a building site. Poorly maintained/dangerous, missing tiles. see pictures Spa – One of the reasons we booked this hotel. Spa treatments are very limited - mainly massages. Trying to book a treatment was a lottery in terms of whether there would be anyone manning the spa reception desk. QoM may have the spa facilities they just don’t know how to utilise them. Most 4* spa hotels offer dressing gowns and slippers - nothing at QoM. 3 The staff. Staff are at best inexperienced but bordering, incompetent or lazy at times. Reception - almost useless in terms of knowledge and help. As we were there for our wedding anniversary, I tried to book the romantic package offered on the website - three emails, no response and gave up. On the day we checked out I had an email saying I could check-out and settle up on line, I had a bill for over 1800 euro’s for breakfasts! And we were there on a B&B basis. It was quickly resolved by a trip to reception. F&B - two gears slow and dead slow. We wanted a bottle of wine with our meal on our first night after a long journey. a) had to get it myself from the lobby bar which was up one floor b) bar staff offered me a glass only. Housekeeping - far from meticulous and you never knew when your room would be dealt with. 4 Food Good buffet breakfast, but evening buffet meal not great, certainly not a gastronomic delight as per website. The lobby bar food was ok and not overpriced. 5 Information Complete lack of hotel information. We finally found a sign/QR code to a website for hotel info, which was sadly lacking and inaccurate - e.g. hotel offers a pillow menu - oh no it doesn't. The facilities may make QoM 4*, but service is at best 2*. Footnote: As our holiday moved towards its end Eurostars clearly saw there were issues and brought in the brilliant Beta B from Spain, and later colleagues from the Canaries to instil a better service culture.
