Beijing Shangguanyi Homestay

Awesome location. Super room, very spacious. Stunning bath tub. Just missed little personal touches, like flowers in the room. The staff just splendid, so kind and friendly, made me feel so at home. Great food and the mountains just breathtaking.

The room we stayed in was spectacular. They have a variety of food options, western and Chinese. The only disappointment was that they said the pool had water in it and when we got there it didn't. If the pool was fine, I would go back to the hotel over and over again. A really good place to get away from the city to relax.

This is a beautiful hotel situated in the mountainous region of Beijing. The surroundings and view from the hotel are breathtaking at sunset and weather was extremely good during our stay. STAFF The staff were amount the most helpful and friendly that I have encountered in China thus far and I have been here more than five years and traveled to many destinations. They do not speak English but are very ready to use a translation APP or WeChat to communicate. The staff are very accommodating and even took special requests regarding the menu. FOOD The food was very well prepared and tasted delicious. Their menu unfortunately does not have pictures and the translations may be tricky if you are not particularly familiar with Chinese cuisine. Nevertheless, the food that we at was fresh, tasty and of high quality. We were able to BBQ by ourselves by reserving it a day in advance. The staff will also help you BBQ if needed. LOCATION The hotel is situated far from the city and a sense of comfort can be experienced knowing that you have left the hustle and bustle of the city behind. However, make sure all amenities and personal effects that you may need are with you as you cannot get same day delivery services. There were some construction vehicles which made noise occasionally in the area but I would suspect this is temporary and will soon pass. ROOM The rooms are beautiful and we experiences no dysfunctional amenities in the bedroom. The linen on the beds were crisp and clean, the room was clean upon arrival and daily cleaning is offered. Overall cleanliness was very good. The washroom area is stocked with a loofa, toothbrushes and toothpaste tubes, shampoo, shower gel, conditioner, razor, hand towels, cups and reasonable space for personal toiletries too. POOL AREA The outdoor patio looks out onto the pool. The water was well maintained and some pool toys were provided by the hotel. The pool area could use some maintenance, for example, around the stairs there are a couple loose tiles on the stair face and some ****ing around the footpath could be done. Other than this, the environment is completely mesmerising and leaves one completely relaxed. Calming music is played throughout the day at a low volume. At night, this area is well lit and the scenery beautiful. BAR The bar is well stocked with spirits but a slightly wider variety and maybe the addition of a drinks menu would definitely improve this. ROOFTOP The hotel has a rooftop deck perfect for sundowners and viewing the surrounding mountains. Tables and chairs are provided on the rooftop.

Overall I would say we enjoyed our stay, I was looking for a good place to bring my girl and treat her and She loved it!The staff was very friendly and the service was great. The location is pretty far but it’s quite worth it, the view from the balcony is amazing. So if you’re looking for a get away from the city this is the right place, it’s very quiet and peaceful.

Beautiful hotel surrounded by nature in the yanqing mountains. We had a very nice and big room with a very nice view, bathtub and big balcony. The staff is very helpful and friendly.

Came to this hotel to escape the city and it was exactly what we needed. Walking distance from Longqing gorge, beautiful pool, view of the mountains, great home made dishes, unlimited hong cha, the loveliest hostess and an experience picking fresh corn down the road. We'll be back soon.

We really enjoyed our weekend trip to this hotel. The owners are incredible friendly and supportive even with our tiny Chinese language skills. We can highly recommend and will definitely come back!

Beautiful small hotel close to the sightseeing attraction Longqing Gorge. The service was perfect and we enjoyed the BBQ dinner onsite.

We stayed in the Nanshan suite. It was very spacious and very clean. The massage chair and projector are really great. The view is very nice. The location is close to Longqing Gorge. The service is excellent. I asked for a lot of help to set up a surprise for my boyfriend. The staff followed all of my instructions and fulfilled my requests and with a smile the whole time. They went above and beyond my expectations. I am very impressed by this hotel and I would return again!
