Aljana Guest House Beja

Most things were perfect, from the bed to the decoration, the breakfast, the location and the staff taking care of the place. However our experience wasn’t the best because of a poorly educated family making a lot of noise between 00:00 and 1:00AM on both nights, slamming doors, yelling, on the phone in the lobby etc. Also would be great to find a solution for the pigeons around the pool and humidity in room 1.

Beautiful quiet guest house, steps from the cathedral. Sara and her family were gracious host. Very much a Alentejo way of life. Quiet and untouched destination. Breakfast the following morning is all grown in their farm with a cooked to order hot item. Would definitely come back!!

What a wonderful way to start 2023! My friends and I loved Aljana since the very first minute. Sara's welcome was just perfect and we felt at home immediately. We loved everything: the kitchen, the bedrooms, the garden and all the memories of the past in every corner. We absolutely cannot forget Mariana. What a sweet, helpful and funny lady! Thanks for your smile, your memories and... your cooking!

The interior of the main house is beautifully designed, and very appealing to the eye. There was a small, but attractive pool in the courtyard. It was clean and well maintained. Breakfast was very impressive. There were freshly cooked eggs and bacon as well as a selection of cold meats and cheeses, bread and fruit, and more. But you would have to see for yourself the way it is set out and presented to you in order to truly appreciate it. It was almost a work of art, inspired by Sara the owner's memories of childhood family breakfasts. There was a big communal table to eat at, but we chose to sit outside in the courtyard, which was a few steps away, in view of the clock tower of the cathedral next door. I found the stay to be very calm and relaxing, and all of the guests seemed to be feeling the same way. Ou room was a garden view room, and there were slightly smaller rooms situated outside of the main house, across the courtyard. Guests had access to the house, and the big, comfortable lounge area where you could watch tv or listen to music should you choose to spread out from your room. From the dining area, hot drinks could be made at any time of day. The only downside was that our room (number 2) was a little dark, and next time I would choose room number 1, which was a street view room, and appeared to be brighter. A minor issue because we did not spend much time in our room. Free parking was available a few metres away in the Castle car park, which was very convenient.

Small bedrooms have a difficult climb to a mezzanine bed. The ladies preparing breakfast were very good, the pool will be an asset in summer and the location is next to the castle. The bedrooms are small and drab - impossible to relax in

From the moment we arrived till we left, after 2 nights stay, we were made very welcome and felt at home. Upon arrival we were served delicious juice and home made cake. The room and bed are very comfortable, with a novelle design and great eye for detail. The breakfast is superb with a selection of fresh sliced fruits, delicious ham, cheese, bacon and scrambled eggs, freshly baked bread and croissants, home made jam, fresh juice, coffee and tea. We were given great tips about vineyards, restaurants, sightseeing and are really looking forward to going back.

An experience and a warm welcome not to be missed in Beja,Alentejo. Highly recommended

Fabulosa decoração num espaço convidativo, agradável, confortável, calmo e aconchegante. Boa localização. Ficámos com 2 quartos juntos para as crianças ficarem perto. Uma enorme atenção ao detalhe e à sustentabilidade. Banda sonora jazz, iluminação muito acolhedora. Um jardim fabuloso com romãs e alfazema. Infelizmente a chuva não nos permitiu usufruir do exterior, mas ajudou a que sentíssemos o interior ainda mais acolhedor e aconchegante! Uma leitura no sofá com uma manta quente e a chuva a cair lá fora... Um pequeno-almoço FA-BU-LO-SO.

Local muito agradável, quarto incrível. A senhora que nós recebeu (a dona) muito agradável, simpática. Adoramos a experiência. Deixo alguma fotos e vídeos que tiramos. Pequeno almoço muito bom, ainda têm algumas medidas anti COVID. Espaço lindo, no verão ainda deve ficar mais agradável. Fica o desejo de voltar.
