Outrigger Mauritius Beach Resort

The resort is very nice, the location is perfect. However, when we first arrived the water wasn't working. It was then fixed but it looks a yellowy colour. Insect repellent doesnt seem to be working in the room ( its a plug in one) the lady sprayed the room on day one which worked but apparantly they have run out of it. We had an early start and the breakfast in the lounge was our only option, the bread/ croissant were roxk hard and dry. Other then that the usual breakfast is ok. I would recommend getting the edge water reservation for dinner the good is better then the Mercardo. We got half board but the catch is that ypu have to pay for drinks and water, which you obviously can't eat the food without, we came for are honeymoon and expected it to be included not having to pay extra for drinks. Lastly we found a waiter who was amazing and has sorted us out this trip, his name is Muzammal, he has literally made it amazing at the outrigger!

Check in by Krishna was very cold & not welcoming. Surprised that this individual is allowed to check guests in. Cold , no smile, rushed, unpleasant. I was not done finishing my welcome drink and he was in a rush to bring us to our room. Rod, front desk manager, nice & welcoming. Ensures guests are happy. Resort: older resort in need of renovation. Reminded me of cuban resorts. Old furniture, dated AC but blows nice cold air. Generous room space. Check out: unfortunately got krishna again while checking out. This gentlemen needs to quit his job. I was speaking in english and he continuously answered back in creole. I had to tell him if knows how to speak in english as my wife does not speak Creole. Bad bad service. Geraldine - good service, polite, welcoming.

Had the best time ever at Outrigger. Staff was superb, great, very very kind, lovely and so helpful. Love the food. Wow the food and drinks especially cocktails superb. Very nice hotel and will be back soon and I highly recommend this hotel. Absolutely wonderful stay! Check in yesterday and from the moment I arrived in company of my family, the experience has been fantastic. The hotel is located in a serene, remote area, away from madding crowd, providing a perfect retreat for those seeking peace and tranquility. The highlight of my stay was exceptional service provided by the staff, particularly Disksha, a waitress at the beach bar LE Bleu. Diksha's warm and friendly demeanor made each visit to LE Bleu a delight. She was attentive and went out of her way to ensure that my guests felt welcome and well taken care of. Her recommendations in drinks and snacks were spot on, and her genuine hospitality added a special touch to our stay.

Stayed there for a weekend with the family and overall had a good experience. However, room was a bit outdated and service at the bar/pool was flat. Servers never came to ask for drinks while you're at your table or by the pool. We always had to go to the bar to order for drinks. Food at Edgewater was really good. Tomesh was really patient and helpful to our group. Enjoyed his service!

The hotel needs a major renovation the door is not clkaing properly. Drawers also. Paying a big amount and on the day of arrival you get to know that we do not have minibar. We had to wait four hours in order to have something to eat because of the new rules for all inclusive package. The television and internet is also very slow you don't have any signals. The hotel always tell you someone will assist but they never come. Its my third visit but its a real disappoin**ent this time. For all inclusive package supplement are being applied on all food that you want to consume despite being on the package. Water activities are very limited. To change a bottle of champagne we had to ask three persons to do the necessary. Disappointed with the room and service.

This was my first experience coming as a couple to a hotel, but I could see the amount of effort they put into making the experience of the guest so much more comfortable and relaxed. There were soooo many on-the-house activities that the resort offers, like kayaking, snorkelling, glass bottom boat rides, etc etc. More than anything, the concierge Mr. Yashil was so welcoming and kind. He made sure we were well settled and came in to check on us every now and then to say hello, which was a nice thing. The views and the beach that this hotel has access to is absolutely stunning and had so many small coral reefs and reef fishes. We even saw an octopus while doing the glass bottom boat ride. The pool is seriously underused and so when u use it, it is as if the whole pool is urs. And if you want a more inconspicuous pool time, you can go to the private pool they have near the club house. Although their food was not good, mainly Indian food. They have a few indian people i suppose as staff but they werent able to get even the ingredients and shape of the dosa and idly right. The sambar was concentrated with turmeric to get the colour but not the actual other masalas... We even had one spoilt chicken salami once... which we immediately informed the staff so that none of the others would eat it...not sure if they took it out. This is although only in the main buffet area. If you go to the more sophisticated Edgewater Restaurant in the resort, the food was absolutely stunning and tasted really good. Although some items you will have to pay a half price instead of it being free, so be aware of that. but quality was michelin class. You would need to pre book the table though. Another thing that was not as satisfactory was the in-app chat feature. We didnt get responses to a few queries and requests, whilst the other features of the app integration with the room service was absolutely amazing. Overall, To whoever would come here, they will be mindblown by the activities and infrastructure of the place and the views and comfort of the place, but dpnt expect much from the food depar**ent. its a hit or miss. But i'd definitely come here again... :)

++ The pillows are the best I ever felt! ++ The food was great and diversified! ++ The rooms are big and very comfortable! ++ The employees were all helpful and friendly. I even played football with them! - The excursion for visiting dolphins which was suggested by an employee from hotel was terrible and non-animal friendly ! A lot of boats chasing the poor dolphins without any respect of the animals! I recommend the hotel to stop the connection with the company doing this excursion! - The hotel needs some serious renewals as for example the bridge in the foto which is broken and other stuff overall the hotel too.
