Holiday World Riwo Hotel.

What a lovely holiday we’ve had at the RIWO hotel in Holiday World! To begin, the staff are lovely, very welcoming and helpful. Not only this but the hotel is well decorated in the vast majority of areas - the rooms are slightly dated but it did not affect our holiday at all. We decided to pay for a half board service at the complex and we couldn’t have faulted the food, there was something different every night for dinner and it was all displayed beautifully. The outdoor pool area is lovely and clean and there are always sun beds available but unfortunately the pools we found were quite cold due to them not being heated. Despite this you can take a 5 minute trip on the complex shuttle to the beach club where there are splash parks- pools and a lazy river. A fantastic day out for young ones. The entertainment on an evening is definitely aimed for smaller children until 21:30 when other events take place but you can also visit the other hotels on the complex to watch their entertainment which we found helpful. Our only downfalls in regards to the hotel were- 1- Rooms slightly dated. 2- Small ants seem to be found all over the complex from the beach club to the rooms in the hotel but they didn’t bother us at all. 3- You need to get a taxi to most places as the resort is around 10 minutes in an Uber away from any shops or attractions. Apart from those three things we will certainly be returning and cannot recommend the holiday enough to families with children!

We visited here for 4 nights in February as a group of 5, 2 adults and 3 kids. Transfer was quick from the airport, when we arrived we had not been allocated rooms beside each other so were told to go for lunch and receptionist would sort our rooms. On return this was all sorted and we were allocated 2 rooms on the 4th floor. Our room was actually an apartment, with kitchen, large bathroom with separate shower, living and dining area and bedroom with 2 double beds. A large balcony was accessible via the living room and the bedroom. The room was clean and comfortable with plenty of space. We were all inclusive and overall I found the food good. Breakfast was excellent and dinner seemed to have theme nights. All the food I had was hot, fresh and well cooked and very tasty. My only criticism is the restaurant didn’t have a designated children’s section, eg no nuggets etc available. Snacks and drinks were available at the pool bar throughout the day and consisted of chips, nuggets, pizza, burgers, hot dogs and salads etc. At 4pm the hot food was removed and a selection of cakes and donuts were available. We were lucky with the weather but on one day it was particularly cold and windy with rain, there was nowhere inside to have food or get a drink and the snack bar didn’t have any covered areas. Not ideal and perhaps the inside bar should be opened if the weather is bad. Kids club ran in the morning and afternoon, my kids attended twice and enjoyed their visit. We didn’t watch any evening entertainment so can’t comment on that. The indoor pool must be pre booked and we did this when we knew the weather would be poor. I was very disappointed with this area, the pool is very deep with no shallower side for kids and no lifeguards on duty. The toilets and changing areas had no working lights so this was disappointing and difficult with kids. Location wise we knew in advance the hotel was quite isolated, we availed of the free bus to the bottom of the hill and walked into Fuengerola, this was a long walk and to be honest the resort felt run down and probably not worth a visit. Benalmadena on the other side is gorgeous. We ended up using Uber and Bolt which were both reasonably priced and readily available. We did visit the Polynesia hotel is a few minutes walk. It is massive and has a large arcade and ten pin bowling which was well priced. The bar there had a singer on in the early evening and this would have been nice to have in the Riwo as well. Overall we had a great time and I would consider returning in the future.

The staff were amazing, service fabulous. The hotel was really lovely. When we asked for anything to be brought to the room it was done within minutes. The staff in the children’s club were absolutely brilliant. The only criticism I have is that the food was cold, but I just popped it in the microwave and it was fine.

We stayed here, for a few days of sunshine, and on the whole it was ‘ok.’ The beach club is great and so much space and options - if all inclusive, then this carries on down there. Disappointed that we were told we could get food down there, only to be told it does not start until May. The free shuttle service to the beach club is very welcome, especially on the way back up the hill and runs throughout the day. Food is quite basic and lacks flavour - also 90% cold! When I raised this, was pointed to a microwave, to re warm my food!!! This is not acceptable at any hotel, let alone one that is boasting 4 star rating! Rooms are clean and good size - we had a mini suite. Daily cleaning service which is great. The shower continually runs freezing cold and boiling hot, no matter what time of the day, so be careful as it can scold you! We arrived late, and the hotel had plated up some food, which was a nice touch. For what we paid, it was OK, but I wouldn’t be returning back.

Yes, very decent. Only thing that let's it down is the location; so far away from everything. Welcoming hotel, pleasant atmosphere and staff. Lovely and clean. Huge room to the hillside and mini golf, well equipped and maintained. Food was reasonable, no complaints. Pool area and artificial grass was terrific with an excitable 6 year old. Only complaint was an extremely poor play area in the evening following mini disco. Beach club and bus is fantastic. Great service.

Lovely hotel. I cannot understand why anyone can give a poor review. We had a lovely holiday all 12 of us. Staff are amazing, the pool area is stunning, the rooms are clean and spacious with plenty of storage, hotel is spotlessly clean, the food was absolutely bang on and we ate very well every day for our entire stay of 10 nights. The shuttle bus down to the bottom of the hill was great and we never had to wait too long for a pick up. Can’t fault the place at all. We holiday to Spain 3 times a year every year and have stayed in many, many hotels and apartments and this place is absolutely lovely. Thank you for a lovely holiday! Room 414

Nice hotel! Big bathroom, lovely terrace with wonderful sea view. Good beds, clean room. We had only breakfast (no all-in), the breakfast was great. Lots of choice, good quality. Kids animation was present and good. We rent a car for 3 days, which was a good idea for visiting villages and the beach with 2 small kids. Which was remarquable in the hotel was the kindness of the receptionist Beatriz. She was so nice and helpful! What a pleasure to arrive in the hotel! Again many thanks Beatriz, if you read this:) Ps: we stayed in the hotel for 4 days (2 adults + 2 kids). I would definitely recommend this hotel, specially with children!

The hotel was lovely, the staff are helpful, the hotel itself isn’t in an ideal location, you need to take a taxi to get anywhere, big selection of food but the food was not great, travelled home ill from what I think was due to the food as found pink chicken the night before which I had already been eating for a few days because not much options around of restaurants unless you take a taxi. Also the first night we arrived, we just wanted food and to go to bed after travelling, we ordered a takeaway but the security would not let the delivery driver in, my partner had to walk about 15 mins down to the bottom at security to get our food which was then cold by the time we could eat it.

Worst place I have ever stayed! The food here is luke warm at best. You are served the same at lunch and in the evening, there is no change of food each day it's all the same slopp. I have dyed in quite a few all inclusive but this is definitely the worst. The apartment we were given was meant to be new, and a hi tec room, what a joke, nothing worked, there were sockets hanging off the wall, we couldn't even pull the curtains, I was at one point in floods of tears, feeling I was living in a nightmare! Yes, we got a room charge in the end, £968 for four nights for 2 , this was just for the hotel and not flights. Total rip off. As far as I am concerned, they might as well have mugged this 72 year old in the street.
