The Breathless Riviera Maya is located about 20-30 minutes from the airport, which is a big plus. There isn’t much around the resort except for other resorts. The crowd ranged from 30s-60s.
Here are some pros and cons:
Pros:
- clean rooms with daily servicing
- staff was very friendly and helpful (shout out to Omar/Steven/Eloy on the entertainment team, Sofia at poolside service, and Edwin at the steak restaurant)
- nice pool with an ocean view and very clean and accessible bathrooms
- 2 pools with very different vibes—the larger one is more chill while the other is the party atmosphere
- no kids/gen z
Cons:
- the room would have a strong old water smell if the a/c wasn’t running, which was whenever we weren’t in the room
- the food could be better. They don’t seem to believe in seasonings, including salt and pepper, and they exclusively use coconut oil on everything making things taste like coconut that shouldn’t (mashed potatoes, eggs, for example)
- food is sometimes hard to find. We were told room service was 24/7 but that turned out not to be the case and the options were very limited (we tried ordering 3 times and it never came). This isn’t the place where you can order whatever you want whenever you want.
- poolside food options were only pizza, nachos, and fries.
- the beach area is very small with maybe 20 chairs and there isn’t a lot of walking space.
- the gym was very small and didn’t have enough a/c to handle the humidity build up.

The upgrade was not great, the room ac didn't work, the room was too far from everything. The some of lights in room didn't work.

I paid extra for an ocean view room. When they took us to the room it did not have an ocean view, the view was of trees, the room smelled of mold and sewer. They did switch our room eventually. The restaurant food were not good at all, food at the buffet was generic but ok.

The things we liked about this property were; friendly staff, beautiful properly, activities and the overall decor and layout of room.
What we didn't enjoy; even though an all-inclusive they did not provide any alcohol in the rooms without an additional cost, bars closed down at 11pm even on weekends, dinner buffet needs better quality and more options. Pool seating was hard to come by unless you paid for bottle service.

The room service was excellent even though when we arrived we were missing a robe and beach bag that was supposed to be in the room. There’s a breakfast buffet daily which i wasn’t aware of basically it’s the same breakfast service daily. Staff is very friendly and accommodating. There’s several restaurants but honestly the food was not good except for the Italian and French restaurants. I have been to other exclusive hotels before and I’ll definitely not be returning to the Breathless Hotel again.

By far the BEST all inclusive experience my husband and I have ever had!!! We came to celebrate our anniversary.
Food was amaaazing, I was really impressed. Tons of options for all tastes. Amazing bar service with all the staple mixed drinks you could ever want plus unique drink specials that were delicious. The grounds were so beautiful you could walk everywhere and have your own little adventure without leaving the resort. Our room was so upscale and luxurious - the shower water sometimes took a little while to warm up but that's literally the only bad thing I can think of to say, and honestly it didn't matter to us we were so sunburnt lol. Poolside hangouts were the time of my life and the staff were all so courteous, friendly and helpful. Breathless is leagues above the rest, we've pretty much decided only Breathless for all inclusive adventures from now on. Bonus - beautiful birds just outside our patio doorstep & delightful chubby little iguanas to hang out with you while you take in the seaside view. A

Amazing experience at the Breathless Riviera Cancun, it really feels like a very high quality hotel and the staff also treats you as such. A lot of attention in the details, the decor was changing evey day! I would definitely reccomend and go back myself. The only thing is if you're looking for a quiet place and a wonderful beach, it might not be the best fit for you but the pool setups are amazing.
