I checked in very late for my reservation (2 am), and was surprised to find out that this location required an additional $100 deposit on top of the room rate, so I ran across the street to the ATM to get the cash. I have never had to pay an extra deposit on a room, so that wasn’t great. The gentleman who checked me in was very nice, however, and offered to help me get my bags up to my room. The room was tidy, but there appeared to be mildew or mold in the corners of the shower, so I chose not to use it. Not a huge deal since it was just one night’s stay but if it had been 2 nights or more, I likely would have asked for a different room. The checkout time was 11:00 am, but the housekeeping staff started knocking on my door at 10:00 asking if I was close to checking out yet. Even after I said I would be checking out around 10:30, they kept knocking on my door every 10 minutes or so, asking if I was done so they could get in and clean the room. I could understand if it was past the 11:00 checkout time, but it wasn’t. I did not appreciate that at all. I feel like the room is mine to enjoy peacefully up until checkout time. I shouldn’t be repeatedly bothered or made to feel rushed before then. However, the gentleman at the front desk who checked me out was very professional. Despite how good both front desk employees were, I won’t stay at a Travelodge again. The cash deposit, moldy shower & housekeeping staff were unacceptable for a room no less expensive than much nicer places.
