Chay Lap Farmstay Quang Binh

This farm stay is beautifully located in the countryside and has a peaceful rural setting. The staff were very friendly and we had good service The evening meal and breakfast were also very good. Our farm room was like a log cabin in the shape of a shepherds hut. It was clean and the bed was comfortable but the pillows weren’t. There was a wardrobe but limited shelves for clothes. The sink in our room was cracked and you had to remember to turn on the hot water for a shower. The staff told us WiFi was only available in the reception, pool and restaurant area but sometimes we did get it in our room. Overall I thought it was a bit dated and in need of some TLC. The pool towels had holes in them and the covers on the pool loungers were badly stained. We enjoyed getting in the pool to cool down but there was quite a lot of small debris floating on the surface of the water.

An oasis!!! This place was the perfect mix of rural beauty and modern comforts. Grounds were lush, butterflies and dragon flies frequently arounds. The grounds are full of cozy, romantic spots to sit and read in the shade or play cards and have a drink with friends. The staff was exceptional, so friendly and helpful. Helped us plan a route to Halong Bay and found us spots on a sleeper bus. They were very apologetic about nearby noise from seasonal practices of the locals involving chainsaws but it was not particularly bothersome, only lasted a couple hours and we weren't spending time in our room anyways. The kayaking was beautiful and free. The food was great.

What a beautiful place with a lovely view of the mountains! The room was clean and sprayed with anti-insect spray, which worked. Staff was very friendly and spoke sufficient English. Be sure to try the cheap cocktails, they're delicious! We stayed a day at the pool which was lovely. We recommend biking around in the area, you can hire bikes for free at the reception.

What a wonderful place! We had welcomed by a friendliness and a cup of butterfly pea flowers (local flowers), It was very nice. Before checkin, staff showed me useful information and some notes clearly. Staffs are very kind. They assisted us whenever we needed. The room is clean and tidy. Especially, the food is so nice. I love your chicken hotpot. And there are many cocktails to choose. I will come back here to try all your cocktails. Everything is perfect. My family had a great time at Chay Lap Farmstay. It seems it can’t cater to international clients. Despite charging a heavy amount, the hotel is not giving good services to its customers. Bad part: 1. The chef is unable to cook vegan or vegetarian dishes. They just know how to cook tofu with tomatoes. I had to eat only this for two days. I had to catch a train early morning and asked them to pack Tofu and some noodles for breakfast. They packed dry noodles in a box and 2 pieces of soya with some plain water/soup in a plastic bag, which got leaked before I can eat it. It was a horrible experience during my entire 20days trip to Vietnam. They were also not allowing me to talk to the chef so that I can explain to him my requirements. 2. There is no WiFi in the rooms. 3. There is no phone in the rooms for any room service. 4. The pool is extremely dirty. Good part: The rooms are pretty decent in size. I will never recommend it to anyone and will never come back.

In the absolutely stunning Phong Nha district, this is one of the best accommodations you'll find. Highly recommended, good accommodation, kind staff, restaurant and bar is great quality. Within 20 minutes of getting here, I asked reception to extend my stay by 2 days because I was so impressed

We visited Chay Lap during Tet in 2021 (just before another wave of tight Covid restrictions) so we had almost the entire property to ourselves. The staff were so kind and made sure we still having a good time, despite 48 hours of straight rain. They helped us rent motorbikes for the national park and prepared special Tet meals for us. The location was beautiful and quiet - exactly what we needed as Hanoi residents. Note that the location is not so close to 'town' (on the river) but driving on a motorbike is very calm and easy in this area - a great way to get around and explore.

I spent a short stay at the chay lap but if I could I would stay longer. The staffs are so welcoming and nice, the room was gorgeous, the food very good. And it’s so pleasant to stay in a quiet area surrounded but nature. Highly recommend.

We stayed here for 3 nights whilst exploring some of the National Park. It is a very welcoming oasis on the edge of the jungle, so you have to expect some bugs & geckos. The pool/ restaurant/bar area is beautiful. The rooms are basic but large with A/C. We found the menu a bit limited, but the service was great. Ideal place to explore the nearby caves with Oxalis.
