I really like the hotel, you can relax there and enjoy your vacation. The food is great

Beautiful location and great hotel. The service was good and the shows were decent. Our room was excellent with a pool/ocean view and the bed fantastic! The only negative for this review is the food which was sub par, even the a La Carte’s.

The Staff here are wonderful. We always hd great interactions from fort desk, concierge, bell hops, cleaning ladies, bartenders, servers, and chefs. Oscar was a very memorable server during out visits, as were the two Pool Bartenders, Alejandro and Juve(?)
Room was huge and well appointed, washroom was clean and we really liked the large shower. Had a lot of ammenities in the room that are considered VIP at other resorts .
The buffet was always well stocked and the deserts at the restaurants were the star, particularly the Almond Nougat ice cream at the Spanish restaurant.
The pools for us were the highlight as we were purely on a resort relaxation vacation. The resort is a great size, nothing too far away. The ladies serving drinks at the Adult pool were also very attentive. The hot tubs and ambience of the rainforest waterfall centre piece really makes the resort stand out from other busy pool resorts we have been to. There was always enough chairs which was AMAZING to not have to fight for a place to sit at any of the pools.
The view of the beach and the rainforest was top notch, the village and locals were very friendly and its nice the Barcelo is the only resort in the bay.
Resort staff were all very nice and NOT pushy which is a huge plus when it comes to trying to relax.
We don't have kids but were happy for a kids pool, and the kids club looked well taken care of whenever we did see them, which wasn't much.
We really enjoyed ourselves.

The property was accommodating to our change in flight (original flight cancelled & extended one day). All staff were pleasant, room was a nice size and clean. Housekeeping everyday was nice. Food always seems to be a bone of contention in all inclusive resorts. We found the food to be pretty good, nice variety (lots of protein choices). If you are looking for authentic gourmet- then you can check out Bontanical Gardens, otherwise it was satisfactory .

Lovely location, at the very southern end of the Puerto Vallerta Bay. Located on picturesque Mismaloya, a small and very active (think boats, roosters and dogs) fishing village with an exclusive white sand beach.
Our room overlooked the village, offering us a 270 degree view of the small bay and the hillside community with its colorful houses. We spent hours enjoying the views.
Room was old-style Mexican, and the pools were lovely, with adult only areas.
Food was more Spanish-style, less mexican and more European. We struggled to make reservations for the restaurants, and had to settle for the buffet. Pool-side food was not available.
Certainly glad we treked south of PV the 45min. The drive was safe and easy.

The staff wasn't overly attentive except when you hold up cash. The Japanese restaurant was a waste of time with limited options. The buffet was ok but selections weren't always thr best. Wifi was spotty so hard to request Ubers since we were 20-30 minutes away from Zona Romantica. I didnt see an option for "premium" but people had special bands. They were not very responsive when i requested an ironing board 6 times. They also did not do anything when i notified ******* and the resort that we had airline issues and would be a day late.

Good resort overall! Too bad the last bar closes @ 1am but the beach access was amazing, staff are friendly, food is average. Room size is very large. Had a great time!

The property was very clean, the food was good, beach was clean and water was beautiful. Pools immaculate and nice and warm. Very much enjoyed the resort

The staff at Barcelo are awesome. Especially Pilar from Premiun, Wendy and Alonso from entertaiment. The grounds are absolutely gorgeous and plenty of space around the pools. The food was tasty and good variety. The only drawback is the beach part is not shallow and got intimidated by the big tidal waves. My stay at Barcelo was very good.
