We had a wonderful stay! Our rooms were beautiful and comfortable. The front desk team was so warm and helpful. We enjoyed the garden bar at the sister hotel. The breakfast was absolutely outstanding as were the ladies who served it. We could not have had a better experience.

While many seem to like this hotel, we can't say the experience was that enjoyable. The building feels tired, with an interior renovation done in an 80's style appearing dated. We followed the directions to the underground carpark (thankfully provided by the hotel), and discovered steps up and down to get to the hotel, and then up again to get from reception to the elevator. Hardly a deal-killer, but annoying nonetheless to schlep the luggage after a long day. Interior decor was surprising - it was neither "classic old" nor "modern chic". Instead the reception area felt like something you might see at the counter of a Jamba Juice in a nondescript American mall. It was probably refreshing when first built, but style, particularly Italian style, has moved on significantly. Out of the elevator we found more stairs to get to our room. It was certainly spacious, but the style again felt dated. The bed was in a loft, up a set of noisily-creaking stairs, with a sloping roof skylight. Window coverings were good, blacking out the light of a very early sunrise, but we couldn't get the air conditioner to get the room below 22 or so (roughly 71), downstairs, and it was warmer still upstairs - all making for an uncomfortable night. The location was good for wandering around the old part of the City, but we have to believe that there are other centrally-located hotels offering a better experience. On any future trip we would likely opt for a stay in the beautiful surrounding area, visiting the old town (which the City seems to be intent on further improving) on a day trip.

This is an excellent hotel. The rooms are wonderful an artsy. The service is very good. The breakfast is also very good. It is not inexpensive, but it is an excellent choice in the center of Bolzano. I also think the best option for staying in Bolzano is this location.

My husband and I had an excellent experience at the hotel. The staff was kind and helpful, the room was spotless and comfortable. The breakfast was great. The location could not be beat. Would definitely return here and recommend to friends and family.

Steps away from the main Christmas market. We could actually saw the market from our room. Although the Christmas market itself is not as big as other cities/towns like in Nuremberg, Munich, Vienna, Zurich, etc. but the old town itself is very charming. Walking distance from the train station (less than 10 minute walk). We booked a comfort double room. The room itself is quite spacious. When we travel, we always ask for a room with no interconnecting door. This time we ended up with a connecting door to another room, however surprisingly we did not hear any noises. We're told the hotel was fully booked thus that adjacent room should have been occupied as well. Lots of closet space, mini bar, hot water kettle for coffee/tea, slippers, bathrobes, free Wi-Fi, air condition and a window that we could open. They have parking garage as well. Lots of shops and restaurants in the area.

Hotel is right on the Piazza Walther Platz and you are in the Xmas Market within a few steps. Inside the hotel is a mix of the old - antique furniture on the landing and very modern rooms. Our room was spacious excellent storage space a large comfortable double bed bathroom was excellent very good shower. Breakfast was an excellent continental with wide range of local cheeses and meats, pastries also tasty. Staff friendly.

We traveled as 3 couples, 3 brothers plus wives around NW Italy and Austria. We stayed one night in Bolzano at Hotel Greif. The only negative was the parking. Just a little tricky, but doable. Gorgeous rooms. Ours was on top floor so we had vaulted ceilings with skylights that had power shades to close at night. We looked out over the square. Great bathroom with all the necessary items. Breakfast was included and very tradition and delicious. The hotel is centrally located to all of the shopping, restaurants.

This is an excellent choice for several days in Bolzano. The location of the hotel is perfect. It is set in a pedestrian area, an easy walk from the train station. We had a large suite with three windows overlooking the town square. The room was well furnished including large cabinets as well as a coffee maker setup. The room had ample storage place. The king sized bed was comfortable. It has a large modern bathroom with shower, bidet, and tub. Unlike the experiences of a few recent reviewers, we found the hotel to be clean, modern, and well maintained. And yes, all of the lights worked. The breakfast selection was outstanding with extensive selections of breads, meats, and cheeses. The dining service was perfect. You could eat outside on a patio overlooking the pedestrian walkway or dine inside. The front office staff was extremely hospitable and helpful giving us suggestions on local dining and local events and sights. The hotel cleaning service was excellent. We would certainly stay here the next time we are in Bolzano. Tip: You may want to consult the Bolzano events calendar for evening events taking place on the square. Even with double glass windows it was noisy with a band festival one of the three evenings.
