I've stayed in many 5 star hotels and in my opinion I can’t understand how the Sea Star deserves this rating. Reasons: - generally a 5 *star hotel breakfast has a much wider selection of produce, especially bread and fruits. The internal breakfast area is way to small for the number of guests, some mornings the breakfast area was chaotic, especially on rainy days, when the outside terrace could not be used. We were often left waiting for well over 15 minutes until other guests finished their breakfast and we found a free table. Trying to get a hot drink at breakfast (tea or coffee) was a daily ordeal, waiting for staff to serve hot drinks, as you can’t access tea or coffee yourself. The so-called pool on the 1st floor is a small triangle shaped pool, really not fit for purpose. It looks the part, but it way too small for the number of guests. Each time we visited; the area was packed. The 8 sunbeds all used and people sitting on the edge of the pool, as there is nowhere else to sit. The sauna was switch off each time we visited the pool area and we had to wait around for someone to come and switch it on. The max. temperature it reached was never more than 60 degree Celsius - way too cold for a real Sauna. The fitness room is a joke. One or two good pieces of equipment, but again way to small and can't safely be used by more than 3 people at the same time. The hotel and surrounding area is nothing more than a construction site. External construction noise starts at 07.00hrs in the morning and goes on all day long. The view from our balcony was of disused land and debris. We were unable to use the balcony for most of our stay because of the amount of dust. The domestic staff cleaned it some of the days, but it quickly became dusty and unusable. Everything, from start to finish it was very, very disappointing – from the hotel false and deceptive information about its amenities, that were not available or not large enough to accomodate the amount of guests. Through to the food and attitude of some of the staff. Clearly, the owners are not to be trusted and are fraudulent people. They are adverting false and misleading information that the hotel is a five star facility with a list of amenities that are not available. It was impossible to relax anywhere at the hotel. The hotel advertises it’s own private beach and sunbeds etc, but when I asked the receptionist, she frowned at me and told me I was wrong, the hotel had never advertised having a private beach and sunbeds. I showed her the communications I had received from Sea Star staff, just weeks before I arrived. I emailed the hotel to ask it they had enough sunbeds for all the guests. I showed her the email response I received from Sea Star hotel, telling me they had more than enough sunbeds for every guest, which clearly was a lie. As I discovered – they only have 8 sunbeds. The receptionist just glared at me and said the hotel applied for a private beach, but officials declined. They also advertis
