Hotel Ter Duinen

We had a lovely stay at Ter Duinen and the owners, Marc and Lieve, were extremely helpful and welcoming. The hotel is in a peaceful neighbourhood only a short walk from the city centre, which is an advantage as Bruge is beautiful enough to attract large numbers of tourists (and school parties)! We had a very comfortable room with roof top views and the breakfasts were fantastic as many people have commented. All the public areas of the hotel are very attractive and meticulously looked after. This is just a great little hotel with very dedicated and professional owners who go out of their way to make guests feel at home. We wish Marc and Lieve every success and thank them again for their hospitality and friendliness.

We had a lovely 3 night stay at Hotel Ter Duinen. It was a nice treat to stay at such a wonderful family run hotel. The owners and their family were so welcoming and attentive and the breakfast was delicious. It’s in a perfect location for visiting Bruges with a view of the canal and only a short walk to the centre.

Charming hotel with helpful and accommodating hosts. Lovely courtyard garden and the breakfast was beautifully presented and delicious. Our room overlooked the canal - windows opened wide with interesting buildings in view. The hotel was a pleasant walk from the town centre.

Ter Duinen is an enormous credit to Marc & Lieve who are the most accommodating of hosts, ever-willing to share their knowledge to help guests enjoy their stay in Bruges. The public areas and bedrooms are fitted out, maintained and cleaned to the highest standards; the little courtyard garden in particular is beautiful. Staff switched effortlessly between multiple languages in providing friendly and thoughtful service. Breakfast was outstanding. We stayed five nights and would happily return.

We, a family of three, stayed for 3 nights at Hotel Ter Duinen and had enjoyed a pleasant stay here. The room view overlooking at the canal is great and the surrounding atmosphere is tranquil and calm. We felt safe walking around by ourselves and the public transport is convenient too. Not to mention, the hotel owners are helpful and welcoming. We do enjoy the homemade breakfast, the decors, the flower arrangement and garden space, etc. It has been a 'home' in our journey and more than just a hotel. Thank you.

Even though I’ve stayed for just two days I wished I stayed a bit longer considering the warm welcome of Marc and staff along with such lovely hotel. Everything was perfect and they were so helpful as well. Note: After watching In Bruges I always had this dream of mine to visit the city and you should most certainly do as well, it’s a fairy tale of town!

Went with the family for a one night overnight and wish we could have stayed all week. This hotel and the owners/proprieters are incredibly warm and welcoming. Here are a few highlights: 1) Decor and upkeep - Everything feels high end, classy and new but with the charm of a historic and authentic building. The breakfast area with enclosed glass internal sunroom is phenomenal and the rooms were clean and comfortable. Beds were excellent. I slept like a stone. 2) Location - A short walk from the busier downtown area and situated facing a gorgeous canal, this place is easily accessible, convenient and quiet. 3) Breakfast - Believe the other reviews, the breakfast is fresh, flavorful and plentiful. You won't leave hungry. We had two teenagers with us and my mother-in-law and all of us loved the food. I'm not sure there was a single crumb left when we walked away. 4) Service - Absolutely above reproach. The owners take pride in the experience they provide to all of their guests, every question was answered and every need anticipated. 5) Value - Very, very reasonable rates especially given the level of the hotel. If you are at all debating whether to stay here or at another hotel, do yourself a favor and just book the reservation at Hotel Ter Duinen. This place is not to be missed. We'll be back.
