Corvin Plaza Apartments & Suites

Absolute thieves, Asked for a 50 euro deposit on arrival which is unstandable, however once checked out, the rooms were checked by the staff and the bloke behind reception desk told us everything was fine with the room and the deposit was released back to us. 250 euro as their was 5 of us in this apartment. The bloke behind reception is a total liar. Upon returning home, we contacted the hotel asking where the deposit was. We was then told we wouldn’t be getting it back as somebody had smoked in the room. Funny as nobody in our group smoked. Total liars and thieves. The room was left spotless.

Second visit here! So firstly you need to know that the Corvin Plaza apartments are spread across two buildings with a road in-between. We've stayed in both and accommodation is similar. Firstly a great location in the "Corvin" area of Budapest. Bus and tram stops are just around the corner, bars and restaurants in a town square setting are a 10 minute walk away. Local Spar shop just across the road. Accommodation has always been well maintained, clean and comfortable. Reception is manned 24/7 should you need anything. Reception is small so if there are more than one party checking in the wait can be long. Whilst there are other staff around, they didn't want to help get the queue down! One thing to be aware of is if you're going in the summer, air conditioning is only found in the lounge, not the main bedroom rooms and it is chargeable. Luggage can be storage here if you arrive early and want to explore or leave later after check out.

Booked as part of a package holiday across Northern Europe so not my choice but does exactly what it says on the tin, clean, tidy and close to shops bars and restaurants. Nothing fancy but our apartment had a separate bedroom and living area with fully functioning cooking facilities and washing machine etc. Exactly what I expected for the price point and would happily stay here again

The apartment was very clean and neat, however the bed was so hard it was difficult to sleep in. It had all the facilities we needed and was close to a great shopping mall and in a good area. It was very noisy at night because a group of males were in another building making a lot of noise, but not too bad if you closed the windows. The staff was helpful, but you did have to pay extra for air conditioning.

Starting with the bad because our trip started very very badly. We were delayed from the UK by 1hr, when we arrived at the apartments (2am) the doors were locked to the entrance. There is a sign on the door that states “ring this number if the door is locked” we rang, rang and rang… nobody answered! 5 young ladies stuck outside and wandering the streets for hours. As it was clear they were not going to answer the out of hours telephone we decided to find a local apartment to get us off the streets as we felt unsafe. The following morning we went back to Corvin explained nobody answered and the response we got was we are closed from 1am you should have let us know you were delayed. (Not sure how we could do that as we were in the air)!!! They were not apologetic or agreed to pay for the hotel we were forced to pay for to get somewhere safe the night before. Yes you have to pay a deposit on arrival , I read reviews before and paid cash so we didn’t have a problem getting this back (some people who paid via card did) The apartments were clean, tidy and functional (what we needed for a girls trip away) I wouldn’t recommend staying here if you are due to arrive early hours of the morning as you won’t get in! We found some locals nice but a lot very rude and didn’t like the English! Breakfast is in a local cafe round the corner, this was ok very limited options (maybe 3 different dishes to choose from). My partner and I had a booking in the corvin ruin pub designed apartment from the 16th to the 23rd of may this week. We were charged €310 to stay there for 1 wk. Price was not the problem We arrived in budapest last Tuesday at 1.30pm Spent about 4 hrs looking for this apartment to no avail We got help from people that shared same building but we could not get into the apartment We were not giving any codes through email for gate or the apartment to get inside I sent countless emails to corvinruin@gmail.com But got no answer This mutt of a landlord stole our money and has not returned in to our card as of yet. And I would like to point out that it is not looking likely that he will at this stage Complete robbery of €310 This is discusting behaviour I really hope that some reads this review and decides not to book with this apartment I found apartment on booking .com but was booked through agoda so people be warned this is a very dishonest individual The hosts name was Mercedes she could be the owner but I don't know All I know is someone robbed me of €310 and we never got to see the inside of the door We believe that after we sent pictures of our passports to this piece he or she did not like what we look like We are both very heavily tattooed But he could of just said we were not welcome And that would of been accepted Corvin ruin pub designed apartment is a complete scam money grabbers I hope they never have a good day's luck again for how they treated us Discusting absolutely discusting
