I am writing a review for the restaurant only as I have not stayed in their rooms. Upon arriving at The Lambs Inn UK LTD, Great Rissington, our anticipation for a delightful dining experience quickly dissolved into frustration and disappoin**ent. We had booked a table for two people at 7 30 pm today. Once seated on the outside benches, it took them ages to come and take our order although I was told that one of the waiters would come and take our order soon. Finally after 20 minutes, when nobody bothered to come and take the order, I myself went inside to the reception desk and ordered the food. Our hopes for a redeeming meal were further dashed when I wanted to make another order at around 8:05 pm but discovered that the kitchen had inexplicably closed earlier today (although we were told that the kitchen closes at 8 30 pm, at the time of the telephonic reservation.) This unexpected turn left us with limited options and a sense of being unwelcome guests in an establishment that should have prided itself on hospitality. It was clear that customer satisfaction was not a priority. In conclusion, our experience can only be described as a letdown from start to finish. From the delayed service to take order to the premature kitchen closure, it was a night that fell far short of our expectations. We cannot in good conscience recommend this establishment to others, as it failed to deliver on the most basic elements of a pleasant dining experience.
