Boutique Hotel Casa Cánovas

EXCEPTIONAL ***** Stayed at this boutique hotel for a couple nights mid Sept 2024. What a great experience. The junior Suite was amazing. Beautifully appointed, super comfy bed, great sitting room and the bathroom and shower has to be experienced. The hosts were super friendly and very helpful. Although we experienced some great food in Cadiz the restaurant at the hotel was unmatched. Would definitely stay here again. As discerning travellers this casa exceeded our expectations. First of all I have waited a month to post this review since I was unsure if to leave a review at all, but in the end I decided to. We staying in July for my wifes birthday with some friends and the location is first class with a car park only a five minute walk which is great for a Spanish city of this age. The hotel is excellent and the team very attentive with Fernando on the night shift who can not do enough for you. We had champage and strawberries in the room for my wifes birthday and the room was good but the trouble is little things let it down. I will not say how much we spent but we did expect a better standard and we have stayed in hotels for half the price and they were finished better. We have written to the hotel but they never came back to us hence the review on here. Please see some of the photos below which let the room down and something you do not expect from a a hotel of this standard and price tag, sorry this is a first but we will never come back again.

My stay at this hotel did not meet my expectations. The overall cleanliness of the room was lacking, and certain details seemed neglected, which impacted the experience. Additionally, the staff appeared overwhelmed and were not very responsive to requests, giving the impression that customer service was not a priority. The breakfast lacked variety, and the quality of the products was subpar for a hotel of this standard. Finally, the room’s soundproofing was insufficient, making the nights noisy and far from relaxing. For the price charged, I expected a more comfortable stay and better service. I would not recommend this hotel in its current state and hope they address these issues to improve.

Had a great experience here. The wonderful concierge Fernando drew up an itinerary on a map which made out time in Cádiz perfect. Markets, cocktails, tapas and promenades Rooms were compact and stylish. Breakfast at their restaurant was simple but tasty.

Avoid this place. We made a reservation on August 30th for the following day. Unfortunately, my partner got the reservation date wrong, and when we arrived, we had to book another room. They offered us a token discount of €10. An hour later, we changed our minds because the hotel was poorly maintained, the bathroom was dirty, and we suspected bedbugs. We requested a refund for the second night, just an hour after paying, but the management refused. As a result, we ended up losing over €300.

Beautifully restored old townhouse, right in the centre of the Casco Antiguo in Cadiz. Rooms ( especially the bathrooms) are refined and elegant. Special mention to the super helpful staff. Highly recommended. Cadiz was a very pleasant surprise also with excellent food at bargain prices.
