Caleta Dorada

Went for one week break. Knew it was 3 star and what to expect. Room was comfortable and clean no bugs! However complex was very spaced out and had to walk far in between restaurant and pool areas. Food exceeded expectations, plenty to choose from and fresh. Different each day, had seafood extravaganza one evening. All inclusive drinks were good Surrounding area is under construction and not very pleasing on the eye! Over the road into main tourist area is lovely. Overall enjoyed the holiday and hotel, however would not return due to size of complex and distance from the beach, shopping areas.

Newly refurbished lovely really friendly staff in all areas, lots to do lovely arrangement of pools all be it on different levels they do scooter hire everywhere an if poorly on your feet please hire a mobility scooter at Sahra s place right nx door to molly bar defo family place would like kids club back though an evening singers but in all a great place to stay food good an beverages please bring back chips at top pool bar the kids really miss that.

Great value, family accommodation, within walking distance of a great beach. 3 pools, 1 of which is heated, plenty of drink and food options. Kids club, nightly entertainment. Clean and friendly. Walking distance to town and 5 min walk to a market. It's not 5 star and doesn't claim to be, however for a value break with kids it hits the nail on the head. Would recommend.

The place is huge, pool B is heated which Is located near dining room. We were in Block C which is near the bar, slides etc. We had to move rooms due to a really bad sewage smell, I am not fussy atal but we could have stayed in that room. The other room was fine. A lot of Ants around if you drop something they appear in hundreds, one morning they were crawling all over our bathroom towel which was hanging up in bathroom. We showed maid she just shrugged her shoulders. The hotel manager is great very helpful. We really struggled with the food, not a lot of options, and sometimes can be under cooked to my liking. My price had a big beastie in her ice cream one night. The waitress didn't really seem interested just looked at took it away. The entertainment team work hard but no kids club for this kind of hotel would expect a kids club. They could do with tiding up parts of the hotel round about it. We did have a lovely holiday though.

The animation team absolutely exceeded our expectations. The main factor was the warmth and cordiality with which they approach their work. The team was relaxed and enjoyed the animation each evening as if they were on holiday themselves. There was no barriers between them and us. It was just like one big family on vacation :) Very good interaction with children. Our daughter has beautiful memories and we will never forget them. Thank you guys!!! After arriving home, we even received a message asking how the journey was and whether we had arrived safely. This is truly extraordinary. Excellent food with lots of variation. Fresh and creative dishes. Anyone could choose regardless of preference. Very nice and friendly staff who were smiling all the time even though the restaurant was bursting at the seams and they were very busy. There was never a lack of eye contact, a sincere smile, quick service. We never waited for a table. We were delighted and enjoyed the meal very much. In conclusion, we would like to add that the reception staff and management brilliantly handled the situation regarding the bankruptcy of the organizing travel group FTI, through which we arrived. We have read horrific scenarios on internet about the other hotels. At our hotel, there was no escalation for us. Everything was resolved smoothly and handeled without stress. It did not diminish our impression of the holiday. We rested a lot and gained the necessary strength. It was a vacation that we really needed and we were also given it thanks to the excellent service of this hotel. Thank you very much!!! We will definitely come back again.

Not a good place to go if you struggle to walk .as too many steps .there is a ramp but my husband struggles walking on an incline Food very repetitive. Rooms were lovely 10/10 for them . Cleaner comes in every other day .sweeps the floor and makes the bed .Plenty of sunbeds for everyone . I wouldn't say don't go as its a nice place .just don't expect too much from the food

Just back from a weeks family holiday here. I was apprehensive given some recent reviews but we had a great holiday. The good stuff…food at main restaurant was good, always plenty to choose from. Also hot dogs from the snack bar and some days there were cooking stations at the main pool. Drinks from the pool bar were good, and strong! We never waited too long but we didn’t use it in the busy evenings. There were self serve stations for soft drinks and coffees too which ease the queues. Main pool with slides was good, lots of loungers and umbrellas (didn’t get busy until about 10.30) so could always get a space. We had a nice, large patio area to the front of our room and an odd high walled yard at the back of our room. Although we called it ‘the prison yard’ it was a nice little sun trap out of the wind. It’s an easy walk into town and the market twice a week is about half way between town and hotel. Taxis are cheap too if you need them. The not so good stuff… despite the recent refurb rooms are a bit shabby. Internal and external doors haven’t been replaced and aren’t the best. Our room was also not very clean, there were a lot of cobwebs and dust around the furniture and a dirty sock under the sofa bed! A cleaner came every other day but they only leave clean towels, make the beds and empty the bins. Dirty cups were not removed or replaced and floors/surfaces weren’t cleaned. So any efforts to ‘clean’ were superficial. The area around the hotel is very run down. There is building work going on and it appears to be getting updated but it is currently very unkept and dirty with rubbish piled up in some areas. It doesn’t impact the main areas of the hotel but is very apparent when walking between blocks and possibly some rooms depending on where you’re located. We didn’t let it spoil our holiday but worth being aware of what to expect. Other points… there is a little supermarket and some bars nearby which are handy. Zanzibar is a good little bar with great views over the town. It’s up the hill behind the hotel. In the town we found food and drinks to be very reasonably priced. We had a lovely meal at El Patio. Also Wild West was great, it doesn’t look anything special but hubby had a fantastic steak there and the rest of our meals were nice. Beach and harbour areas are fantastic! And the walk along to Atlántico is lovely too. The shops at Atlántico aren’t great but there is an arcade and outside play area for the kids. Cocktails at Jimmys were excellent too. All in all it was a good little break. Just don’t expect too much from the hotel or you might be disappointed!

Good for 3 star not for the infirm spread out with stairs or ramps. Staff great with the odd grump. The entertainment is dreadful at night only one bar and outside. Kids galore so not for you if you don't like kids. Loads on during daytime. Food good so no complaints. Great for price but not for me. Enjoyed but would not revisit, sorry.
