Hotel au milieu de la montagne, jolies vues, très bons repas, personnel très gentil Un peu vieux en terme de deco, nous avons eu froid dans la pièce commune et en dormant (manque de couverture), lit très inconfortable…

Very good location, various full breakfasts, staff available. The weak point is that there are only six places where you can park, but often you already have it. The possibility to park in the casino's parking lot is up to € 6.30 throughout the day. Another weak point of the soundproofing of the room is the sound of TV, doors in the adjacent room. Sufficient hotel, pleasant pool, jacuzzi hammam and small gym for 3/4 day!

Bardzo dobry tani hotel. Położony w pobliżu lotniska, przystanek autobusowy naprzeciwko hotelu. Można dojechać do centrum Funchal, a stamtąd w innym kierunku. Śniadanie za małą dopłatą, jak dla mnie smaczne - tzw kontynentalne, ale każdy znajdzie coś dla siebie. Można dokupić obiady za 25€/os. Basen wewnętrzny i zewnętrzny. Bar koło basenu, ręczniki kąpielowe przy barze. Pokoje czyste i komfortowe, obsługa miła i pomocna. Jeżeli będę wracał na Maderę z pewnością wybiorę ten hotel. Klimatyzacja w pokoju, choć nie używałem. Mogę z pewnością polecić ten hotel.

Hotel Quinta Da Penha De Franca is within it's own complex and is up the hill from its sister hotel Quinta Penha de Franca Mar. You can use the facilities within Quinta Penha de Franca Mar as well. Both are linked together by means of a private bridge which goes over the road, this is pretty seamless, but you do have to go out the door of the De Franca and buzz back in, but too much of an issue. Quinta Da Penha De Franca is set within gardens and has a heated pool which can be used, complimentary pool towels provided. You can also use the pool at Franca Mar which is unheated, but was still warm enough, and is salt water, from here you also have direct private access to the sea. Rooms are of a good size, I would recommend staying in the main complex rooms. There are around 4 rooms which are around Rooms 40-44 which are separate from the main complex, that can be nice, but note the Irish Bar is just over the wall, so can be a little noisy at times. Rooms were clean, air conditioning good, TV and mini bar, which if you want to indulge was good value. Beds were big, and very comfy which helped for a good nights sleep. Room Service is also available, though oddly no complimentary tea & coffee provided in the room, which I would expect in a four star. The location is excellent, on the edge of the hotel area means a short walk into town, and short walk to other restaurants and bars in the hotel district so a real positive. Parking is also very good, they have a large free to use carpark, so brilliant if you are planning to hire a car to explore the island like we did, we had no issues parking. Breakfast was also very good, a mix of continental, Portuguese and cooked buffet options. Service was friendly and overall a very enjoyable stay was had.

Very good hotel top location right next to the bus direction airport and direction center Well soundproofed because we had seen the works … and that's fine, we slept very well despite that Only downside is breakfast or on arrival they force you to choose a time In case of change, you must call the night before. It's super annoying! Especially when you don't have a precise schedule We didn't respect the schedule every day and it's ok, we didn't fail :) Receptionists are top notch and always available

Everything was fantastic, hotel location, services and design of the hotel. I enjoyed the 2 nights there. Unfortunately the welcoming was not good for me as I waited for 3 hours and 20 minutes. Yes I came early before the check in time which is 2 Pm and I came at 11:50 and the front deck staff ( Eduard ) confirm to me that my room will be ready at 2 pm but till 3:10 pm only I got to my room after I esclate my issue to the front deck manager ( Peter ), the problem was not about the time I lost, but the attitude of front deck staff as he is looking to my face multiple times and he didn’t come to say sorry that your room not yet ready just to apologizing…

This place was amazing. The location of Camara de Lobos was perfect. A lovely fishing village bay. The hotel was split into 2 buildings, the reception building and the main room stay and restaurant building. The reception building has a bar and various relaxing areas and a few stay room above. The other building, the main stay, has 2 floors for rooms and the 3rd floor has the restaurant, pool and sun beds area. The 2nd floor is the best because of the views down into the bay. When we first saw this place on Jet2 we thought it would be higher up the hillside, but this wasn’t the case, it is at street level. Food in the restaurant was good and they couldn’t do enough to satisfy your needs, from requesting ice and drinks to take to your room but going the whole 9 yards. Carolina was our waitress of our stay, whether she served us in the restaurant or at the dock bar by reception. Always smiling and couldn’t do enough for you. We was celebrating our 50 anniversary and the hotel left us a gift, drink and cakes etc, after the first week and wine and cakes on our actual anniversary. Thee receptionist gave good information regarding places to visit from either local buses to taxes etc. They organised a trip by mini bus for a tour of the east of the island.

This hotel was excellent. There are 1 and 2 star reviews here on TA - I do not recognise the picture in these reviews - all I can say is that the more spelling mistakes I see in a review, the less I value it. (I mean - you expect the hotel to be so perfect in every respect, the least you could do is exercise the same level of care and attention in your review. How can you expect high standards elsewhere when you don't hold yourself to the same level?) From the moment we walked in we felt welcome. The check-in was very simple and efficient. We arrived quite late, and they'd thought to have a tray of cold food sent up to our room for us. Thank you! There is an underground car-park free for guests (useful with a hire car) and whilst we were there it was not too busy at any point. The Wifi is easy to connect to and pretty fast. It did tend to drop out quite a bit when in the main bar area, but otherwise it was problem-free. The pools and areas are excellent - perhaps it would be nice to have one of the outdoor pools slightly heated - they could be cold. The little gym is fine - like most hotel gyms its not exactly a full health-club, but it allows you to keep up most of your workout routine. Restaurants - really good. The buffet for breakfast and evening meal was excellent - very well presented, maintained, and huge choice. That includes for vegetarians, with the slight caveat that it would have been nice to have vegetarian hot main meals for dinner, although with the very wide salad range, no-one is short of choice. The three special restaurants (Madeiran, Italian, and Moroccan) were also great, and although you have to book in advance, there's no limitation on how many times you can go. Vegetarians here generally have to ask, but then there are plenty of options. The staff in all the restaurants were particularly friendly and good at what they do. The room was nice, and comfortable. We had a double room with an extra bed (to make it a family room) - perhaps it was a little small for that given that it is a 5-star, but it was by no means cramped and if you were just a couple in that, then you'd be fine. The room housekeeping was good. A small criticism is that although there was a leaflet saying that soft drinks in the minibar would be replaced (for free) this wasn't done - I don't know if we needed to specifically ask. It wasn't a problem for us (or we would have asked) but it would be nice to have had that happen automatically. Point of criticism - we seemed to spend a little longer waiting for lifts than would be ideal - there seemed to be one lift out of operation although no signage to that effect, and the lifts were a little under-sized - quite cramped when more than three people were in. In many ways the experience of a hotel like this can be affected by the number of people, and while we were here, it didn't seem overly full - perfect for us but may not always be like that. My first impression of the hotel was not at all positive... The door to the room was warped, the window frames were quite dated (on two of the nights of our stay it was windy and the windows made a lot of noise and had little insulation) and the room had no no towels or toilet paper... After this first impression things got better. Breakfast was good and quite varied. The hotel also has an indoor and outdoor swimming pool, free of charge and towel provided. The hotel offers parking for 7 euros per night, but with some luck we managed to park in a street behind the hotel for free (where it was easy to access the hotel through a back door). Check-in and check-out went smoothly.
