The Rocks at Plas Curig Hostel

Brilliant venue in a superb location. Premises on the whole was clean and tidy and so was our bedroom and shared bathroom. Two lounges to chill out in, one with a log burner. Great sized dining area with large wooden tables so you can either sit alone or with others and the kitchen was spot on with the size, cleanliness, utilities and equipment (literally anything you can think of). Nick who was our host was realy friendly and had good local knowledge and advice which was really helpful. Also a ton of books, DVDs, board games, cards etc were available if you need them. We’ll definitely be going back, cheers!

Just enjoyed our third stay at The Rocks this year, and would like to thank Nick,Carrie and Jason for the warm and friendly welcome we received. The hostel is a home from home,clean, tidy and comfortable. The kitchen could easily handle a banquet , with every pot and pan you could need, but if you fancy a night off, the Tyn-Y-Coed is highly recommended, just a short walk way.We highly recommend The Rocks and will be booking our sixth stay shortly.

We had a fantastic 4 night stay at the Rocks, really didn't want to leave. A very well designed hostel. Cosy, comfortable and relaxed. Perfect location and lovely staff. Thanks so much to Nick who was so helpful and welcoming. We will be booking again next year.

Another amazing stay at the Rocks. This place is an absolute pleasure to stay at. Rooms are beautiful, the whole hostel is a dream. My son who is 10 never wants to leave. Located with beautiful walks around you. Great to take your dogs with you to the hostel. I am already looking at booking my next stay.

The Rocks was super nice and cosy - a rather upmarket hostel! My kids loved it, snuggling in the TV room in front of the log burner. The rooms were lovely and comfortable. The kitchen had everything you needed, it was laid out well, meaning there was space for everyone while we were there without it feeling crowded (we were there an August bank holiday weekend, so I assume it was more busy than it might have been). There was plenty of parking. It was very welcoming - everyone said hello and was chatty and helpful. We intend to come and visit again soon.

Wow this YHA lives up to its five star rating. Everything about it was superb, from the rooms, the location and the very helpful reception staff. The catering facilities are excellent. You can hire the whole building if you want to. Highly recommend.

Nice and stylish building and interiors. Good facilities: shared kitchen, lounge, outdoor fire pit. Unfortunally the other guests were mainly families with young, loud and hyperactive children taking over the place (the warden made no effort to ask for some quietness) so there was not a hikers/backpackers athmosphere and no possibility to use the facilities as we expected as we booked. 2 of the 3 places for meals in the neighbourhood are closed (Bryn Tych is a holiday rental place now and and Siabod cafe there was no activity and the place seemed empty) although still advertised on the chalk board in the reception area. We advise multi-day hikers to bring their own food (you can use a big common kitchen- if not full with other families) and towels - which can be rented for 2 pounds each.

Fantastic location , fabulous Hostel , from arrival to departure you can’t fault this place. High level of customer service , cleanliness , first class everything you need regardless of the purpose of your stay . With great comfy beds, plenty of bathrooms , constant hot water , a drying room and a very well equipped kitchen, plus WiFi . External areas , also very nice and relaxing with fabulous views, free car parking and lovely walks, within 2 miles from Betsy Y Coed. A special mention to Carrie , who really made us feel welcome , we will definitely be back.

This is the nicest hostel I've ever stayed in. The bed was super comfy. Everything was spotlessly clean, the room, the bathrooms, everywhere! The communal areas were cosy and welcoming. The team were welcoming, friendly and helpful. Just fantastic.
