I booked this hotel for 1 night with my 15 year old daughter. I booked a large double. It was clean and nicely decorated. We did have an issue with the sliding bathroom door, but as we were only there for 1 night, it wasn't a big issue. There was a pool, but I think it was closed. The staff on the front desk were friendly. It was a very good price via the hotel directly and was so close to the city walls, so location wise, it was excellent. I would stay again.

We were booked into this hotel, but were told by intercom we had been moved up the road to Hotel du Chateau/Hotel Montmorency as L'Octroi is been renovated. Not a big problem for us as 2 reasonably fit adults with minimal bags, but could have been with kids and big bags.

The hotel is nicely located near the enclosed city of Carcassonne - parking is in a secure and closed spot across the street from the hotel; The reception was small, but we were greeted with a nice smile. Our room was small, but sufficient for the night (we did make a reservation. Including the nice breakfast, with taxes the bill came to almost 160 euros. There is a small pool and we did not swim, but at least we lounged around the pool area. Overall it was also very clean.

Just perfect. So I booked this hotel blind. Totally blind. Didn’t know where the best place to stay was. So I chanced my arm. We checked in. The room was small but all we needed. It was spotlessly clean. We took off on a walk to the castle and when we saw how close we were we were blown away. It literally is around the corner and up a hill. We stopped in the bar on the way up ! The castle is amazing and we had 4 wonderful days. This accommodation is perfect if you want to explore Carcassonne. Every day we came back to the room it was cleaned and fresh sheets. Just perfect. Ok the room was small the bed isn’t huge but it’s comfy. The bathroom was perfect. Spotlessly clean. Fresh towels every day !! Every day. Would highly recommend it. We used the sister hotels spa and it was magical. Now I want to go back !!! Only downside was the cost of drink in the hotel. Totally unnecessary price.

Lovely staff , brilliantly near to the cite…sensational breakfast. What a brilliant find. So never get the quality of food in budget hotels but gorgeous patisserie, Comte cheese, lovely butter and jam , not done on the cheap as is the norm 10/10

I had a wonderful stay, the staff were lovely and very attentive. Location is fabulous, so close to the Cité and an easy walk to le centre‐ville and train station. Nice breakfast (the apple juice is absolutely delicious!) Modern, clean room with great air-conditioning and the bed was so comfortable. Thank you for a fantastic stay in Beautiful Carcassonne.

This a very smart, clean, friendly hotel, just outside the castle walls. There is a secure car park. Breakfast was excellent, and a small pool adjoining the restaurant terrace. We travelled as a group of 4. Everything was excellent and no trouble in assisting us....................and of course English wasn't an issue either. *****

L'Octroi is in a wonderful central location in Carcassonne, the hotel is clean, well appointed and staffed by a pleasant and engaging staff. The accommodation is to a good standard, the breakfast is good (if a little expensive to the average) Pre booked parking is available and there is a small pool to relax by if you arrive early. The Carcassonne Castle is very near by and the City centre is just a 15 minute walk away giving access to a huge range of bars and restaurants. A very nice place to stay if touring or on a short break in this icon of South West France. Recommended and would look to stay here again if/when in the city
