I could notate the "resort fee," which was added after I prepaid on *******, or the ****** which had minimal tables, or the lack of adequate food options, but my main complaint with my stay was the lack of hospitality.
For additional background, I was visiting from another timezone and coming off of a red eye. That said, I wanted/needed to go to sleep early for my first nights stay, so I could be fully recharged to explore the following day. However, there was a festival outside of my hotel room that was preventing me from falling a sleep and when I requested management to help they told me there was nothing they could do. I asked to transfer rooms and/or get compensated for the night. I was told there were no additional rooms available and because the music was outside of the hotel they wouldn't reimburse me.
At the check in/out counter the hotel has a sign that says "If you're not satisfied with your stay, let us know, and we'll make it right." Well, I raised my hand and they chose not to make it right. I'd recommend a different hotel, or just skipping your travel to Puerto Rico all together if the Embassy Suites by Hilton in San Juan is your only option.
