Cinco Quintas Hotel Boutique by Soho

5 out of 5. This boutique hotel is a true gem. it's a refined sanctuary in the heart of Cartagena. Elegant, tranquil, the ambiance is unmatched. The staff's is the best; exceptional service. Refreshing pools, a rooftop bar, and an exquisite restaurant with delectable menu. Situated perfectly, everything is a short stroll away. refined and extraordinary escape, this hotel is a must-visit!

This hotel is a perfect little get away, it’s a hidden oasis in the middle of the old walled city. The front is very unassuming. When you enter the lobby, you’re welcomed by calm and peaceful a**osphere and wonderful front desk staff. The staff was fantastic in making everything happen. With my points I was eligible for a room upgrade they moved us from the Luxury room to the Studio suite. The Studio suite was much larger and more comfortable. Both rooms are beautiful! But the Studio is superior. The style of the hotel overall is an industrial style, it’s clean, elegant and chic. The beds and pillows were like clouds, the AC is cool and crisp. Con – I love the idea of the curtain hiding the glass door, but the curtain gets caught on their top of the door when opening or closing. I don’t know if they if there is a solution to that but it’s not a deal breaker, just might damage the curtain after time. The 4th floor look out and pool is a nice little hang out spot. Con - For me is the breakfast. I would say expanded the kitchen options for breakfast. They only offered eggs and omelets. I don’t eat eggs due to allergies, so I had to have what few options on the bar counter. Thank you for a fantastic stay. We had a great stay, and we were very happy with the service, attentiveness to details and the level of comfort. Thanks to Luciana, Maria Laura, Erick, Yair, Silvana, Jorge and the housekeeping staff. I totally recommend this hotel; it is as exactly as it is in the pictures, and they make you feel welcomed and relaxed. They deserve a 10/10.

The staff was professional. The hotel is beautiful with very nice fixtures . It is located in a central area near all the shops / restaurants

I really like the aesthetic and the vibe of this boutique hotel. The areas were very clean and immaculate and beautiful. The complimentary breakfast was great, and note that it is in the restaurant right next door. However, I would say that there is a major flaw with the type of room we got which was the presidential suite. To enter into the presidential suite, there is a beautiful wooden door that has holes throughout it (it kind of looks like a crisscross wood door if that makes sense), and you can literally just stick your hand through the door and unlock the door. Thus, there is no security or safety if you get the presidential suite. I am not sure about the other rooms. When I brought this to the attention of the front desk, they did give me keys to lock the two bedrooms within the presidential suite, which gave a little comfort, but it is also just very concerning that the design would be that way when the entire area is supposed to be secure and private.

I liked the property alot. However, my room was below the rooftop restaurant so I heard constant noise that sounded like chairs being moved from morning until very late in the evening. I let one of the front desk staff members know and he said he would look into it for me, but there was never any follow-up. Otherwise, the property itself is beautiful (newly built/renovated) and conveniently located in the Walled City. The front desk staff was also wonderful with the exception of the lack of follow up on the room issue. I also mentioned to staff on the last day that I didn't realize the room was below the rooftop bar, and they did not offer any sort of recompense for the ongoing noise issue.

The property is very new, only about a month old so the facility is decorated very beautifully. The staff were amazing, very helpful, friendly, and always gave great suggestions. The food in the hotel’s restaurant was tasty. Favorite part, aside from the wonderful staff was the location. It’s in the heart of cartagena. It is a very busy area but it’s still seemingly quiet. There are restaurants a few feet away in every direction and many places to explore.

We really enjoyed our stay at this hotel. The rooftop pools and sitting area is fantastic and the rooms were cool and quiet. I really enjoyed the morning breakfast which is not actually in the hotel, but in the restaurant connected right next store. I believe they're separate businesses with the same owner. The server, Frank, would routinely go out of his way to ensure we had a great experience. Likewise the front desk staff were also very kind and gracious. Pros: Central to walled city Poolside lounging was great, there are only two lounge chairs, but we had no problem getting a spot. AC is nice and crisp, cools the room right down for a great sleep. Breakfast in the morning is done very nicely. I would however recommend they open their kitchen menu. As much as I enjoyed the omelet and the fried eggs some variety would be nice. Front desk staff does a fantastic job. Very polite and always gracious with guests. Cons: The single bedrooms use a curtain to cover the front door which is a transparent glass. This is an okay idea, but it doesn't work very well. The curtain always gets tangled up in the door when you're trying to enter/leave and then you have to remember to pull it shut. Maybe blinds on the door would be a better idea? At one point I was given a bill for three bottles of water which was priced at about $7 CAD (~$6USD) each. I was quite shocked at this exorbitant rate, frankly it's unacceptable, but hotel waved the cost. Shouldn't do this.

The hotel exceeded my expectations. Staff were very friendly and welcoming. The room was very comfortable and had the most comfortable bed. I totally recommend and give them 5 stars.
