We had a great week at Starfish Cayo Largo.The staff that works there are so nice.Are butler Yanelis went out of her way to make are stay great.She is always there to help you if you need something.We do not have to wait in line to book for the restaurants she makes the reservations for use.She even did something for my birthday.The rooms are cleaned everyday.The beach is just great and the water is so clear.

Starfish , Regressamos , we were there in december, but had to go back one more Week. Back on 9/02/2024 , Hoping to have our favorite Butler , Yunet Zaldiar , She gave us Excelent service, also all the staff , and management. Looking to have our Tequila & cuba libre ,and fish , Looking at the Beach, Hasta Pronto, Yunet & friends., Elda & juan.

Starfish Cayo Largo Previous name PELICAN Capacity 700 Currently below 200 This is a quiet place especially if you want to unplug and relax. This hotel is very safe to be in. Only people who work in tourism industry are on this island. They treat all guests with respect and attention and I would suggest you return the same. Management - Alfredo - makes sure everything is in order and all the guests are taken good care of. Through out the day music entrainment is provided by local DJ Mario. There is also musical band entertaining you during your stay. They play classic Cuban music. Excursions or Trips offered: - Catamaran trip Reef. $140CAD - Sunset Catamaran trip $70USD - (this might be incorrect) - Turtles habitat + full Cuban experience dinner and music - $44CAD Internet is free and accessible almost throughout hotel. Animation team provides nightly entertainment for kids and adults. This is dated hotel with exceptional staff. Butler service available here. One butler per building. They will assist you in booking restaurants dinners, information about the resort and any questions you may have about facilities. Monica from Sunwing is an exceptional person. She will help you with any questions you may have. She is fluent in Spanish, English, French and Italian. When she is your local rep, you are in safe hands. Hotel main Beach area is dependent of the season. At this moment if there is minimal wind you will enjoy walks on the beach. Bring some bug spray just in case. Some of us have low tolerance for mosquitoes. There are 2 nude beaches on the left and right of the main beach. During the day only few people stay at the beach or by the pool area. Most of them leave resort to get to white sandy beach part of the island. Playa Paraiso and Playa Sirena. There are 2 main beaches available at Cayo Largo. You will take local “train” for free or taxi costing you $2 per person each way. It is about 8 km distance so I would advise not to walk on this sandy road. 1. Playa Paraiso Bar is available on this beach. Secluded area, quiet and beautiful sandy beach with available umbrellas and lounge chairs. 1. Playa Sirena This is where free lunch is included and soft drinks and alcohol. You may also enjoy lobster lunch for additional $25 CAD. At Playa Sirena you will enjoy long walks on the beach, animation team taking care of entertainment and place to lie down.

Info. Sunwing Canada says the Pelicano in Cayo Largo de Sur, Cuba was acquired by The Blue Diamond Resorts and will be marketed exclusively by Sunwing in Canada as of Nov. 1 2022 and be called the Starfish Cayo Largo.

After 3 yrs of shut down we finally made it back to Cayo Largo, StarFish hotel. It felt like coming home. Many thanks to all the staff who went out of their way to make sure our stay was nothing but enjoyable. The beach wasn't large but we found a spot each day for two weeks. As far as the food, there is always something that you can find to eat. We sure don't starve. Go with a open mind and you will have a most enjoyable time. Special thanks to our great friend Rhoder, it was so good to see you again.

The staff are fantastic always happy to see the tourists. The Ranchon staff are amazing and the food was wonderful. When we were there they were going to shut the ranchon for al-cart dinners which was a blow to the tourist and staff, this is where we go for our 2 reservations. Hopefully they have changed their minds on that. This is a great resort and wonderful staff

This was my first trip to Cuba. I didn't even know that the island of Cayo Largo existed until I discovered this resort through a "last Minute" website. I wanted to escape work, computers, cell phones and the city for a while and just sit on a beach. This is exactly what Starfish offered. The entire island has been closed down for almost 3 years following a Hurricane and then of course Covid-19. It is obvious that the owners have invested a lot of money on the property. Most of the resort is still closed as they continue to repair, repaint, renovate and refresh the property. I had a very nice room, (a little small, but I didn't got there to stay in my room). There was a problem with hot water for the first few days as they were still struggling with their reopening plan, but it was fixed and there was always lots of hot water after that. I had been warned that Cuba is not know for their food, but I was pleasantly surprised at the selection at the buffets and the food was tasty. I had no complaints. The beaches on the island are beautiful, however, there are some areas where the beach has been washed away, (but not the Starfish Beach). All of the staff were friendly and helpful, (even the construction workers. All in all, it was an excellent trip and I was very happy. HOWEVER, there were a few things that could be better. 1) The wi-fi service is terrible! I had to go to the front desk every day to get my log-in credentials reset. You had to re-sign into the network several times each day, sometimes, every hour. Very frustrating. 2) The main dining room acoustics are terrible. It was very noisy at meal times and was difficult to have a quiet conversation due to the noise. They need to install acoustic baffles or fabric to absorb the noise. 3) It would be nice if they put signs up over the food selections so that you knew what you were eating.

Muy acogedor el lugar, muy buena atención de todo el personal, en especial de la mayordomo yanelis, gracias a ella pudimos aprovechar al máximo nuestra estancia. Muy buen servicio de los restaurantes, piscina. La animación también muy entretenida. El equipo de muchachos de la animación con muy buenas energías. Las habitaciones impecables. En fin una experiencia inolvidable. Lo único malo es el horario de salida, que realmente reservas por 2 noches y 2 días.....no 3 pues la salida a las 6.30am de la mañana debes levantarte mínimo 5.30 para poder intentar desayunar al menos

Merci au nouveau directeur Daniel qui fait tout son possible pour rendre notre séjour agréable malgré toutes les contraintes. Merci à tous ceux dont j'ai oublié le nom, je m'en excuse. Ceci est un MERCI ÉMOTIF car j'ai vécu des vacances magiques pendant plusieurs années au PELICANO eh oui ça restera toujours le pelicano pour moi. Depuis blue diamond, à mon humble avis il y a de la détérioration, c'est comme l'anéantissement de la magie de Cayo Largo. C'est une mutation rapide et désastreuse. C'est une perte d'identité qui glisse sous les vagues. C'est bien dommage car c'était mon chalet, ma deuxième maison. Le staff étaient des amis...des frères et soeurs Merci pour toutes ces années de bonheur et de plaisir. je signe: Antoine
